I recently received my E72 and love it! Just a question regarding the display of words in certain screens. Depending on the actual screen displayed , the text seems to fade - which is quite weird. On screens where the icons are displayed and other screens all seems fine. Switching off and rebooting doesn't help - it remains there. Is this normal or is the handset faulty?

I have just got E52 and I am wondering: is it possible to turn its display off completely when it is in idle mode? The light is off, but the screensaver (strip with clock) is still running up and down the display... I guess this consumes quite a bit of energy...

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy E7 have sometimes an unpleasant feature: during a incoming call, display is darken (stays total black). There's nothing to hit or touch, but phone keeps ringing yet you can't answer to call. This is happening when phone is in screensaving mode. Normally there's time and day in a black display, but when phone starts ringing, display is darken.In a few seconds (maybe ten or so) display returns to normal view and you may answer to call - if one who makes a phone call happens to be still there. I have re-installing the software just yesterday and after that, there have not been that problem so far - but I have receiving only few calls since that software re-installation.

View 2 Replies View RelatedDriving back home today I noticed that whilst my E6 connected to my bluetooth handsfree, it didnt change profile to car but remained on default. Usually it does as I set it in the accessories options. Anyway I heard a new sms arrive and soon after stopped at home and went to check. I tried unlocking the phone both with pressing the d pad and flicking the side slide, but the display remained blank. I tried the power button and again nothing. I eventually resorted to removing the battery and rebooting. Seemed ok.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWithin the past 6 days, I've purchased 2 brand new Nokia E71 phones from 2 different Walmart stores, 30 mins of each other. These are phones for the Straight Talk prepaid service. I have not yet activated the phones on ST, as my goal is to first test the basic functionality to determine if it's worth the $200 and will satisfy my needs.
What's happening on both phones, in the same exact manner and location on the phone, is that the menu title name for some menus have fading text. It appears as though there's a display issue. I've attached some screenshots to make it easy to see what I'm experiencing.
However, when I've tested playing the included videos in the phone at full screen, it appears to play the videos through the menu title name area with no fading. The same goes for looking at images - I do not see any fading with the included images in that area.
I have done a Soft Reset on both phones using the *# option and from the "Factory Reset" option in the menu. This has not resolved it on either phone. I have also changed themes, changed menu colors, changed the font size, none of which has resolved this.
Thus far, I've returned one phone to Walmart and ready to return the next one now due to this issue. I'm willing to try a 3rd but that's where my limit is. I really like this phone and want it, but if this issue is indicative of a fully dead or fading display after a short period of use, I will not make the investment.

The numbers are inputting but do not display, if I type the correct numbers and press send it will call. However, when it starts ringing I get a "Note: Call Forwarding Active. I do not know if these two problems are related. I don't even know what I did to activate call forwarding. Letters and Numbers will display when pressed in other applications so I do not know what did to screw it up because they displayed before when I typed. This phone is a Straight Talk - E71.

1. After unboxing, I update the firmware to v22.
2. Quickly do "Delete Data and Restore".
3. Installing Remind Me.

I did not experienced the self restart, the disfunctional pick call after screen lock, etc. My battery also lasted more than one day, it is almost 1.5 day now with 2 bar left in heavy usage (wifi, bluetooth, angry birds, fruit ninja, messaging, some calls).So, what bugs left?
1. The keypad lights is turned off when the display brightnes is less than the mid point of the slider.
2. The notification lights in the middle of dpad is still barely visible even when I use the Remind Me, faulty design in my opinion.
3. The mail widget sometimes did not update the mails that displayed, even though the mail client is already showing the new mails. I need to remove then add the widget again to fix it or restart the phone..
My e5 has strange problem with the light sensor. If the 'Light sensor' slider in the settings is set to the minimum or one position above the minimum and I put the phone under bright light (for example outdoors in sunny days), the display goes completely off. If I cover the light sensor with something or put the phone in lower light, it turns on again. I think it's software problem, but not sure. Does anybody else have similar problem or my e5 has some fault?

It has done it after I check voicemail, on BBM, fb, email...etc.etc. After it fades to white, it will freeze like that until i take the battery out or plug it in...sometimes it will just turn itself off and stay on black screen... do i need to get a new battery?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI own a two Blackberry 8520. Almost 1.25 year i bought it. Both mobile has crossed 1year warranty. In Both set the rubber buttons started to fade off... The volume, Voice dialing button is faded off completely with the Cam button on the sides.When I called Redington India Ltd Jaipur & Delhi they told the rubber panel has to be replaced completely and they need to send the phone to Banglore ( Min 10 days of time) and it would cost WOOPING 2500Rs just to replace the rubber coat on the phone! What I would like to know is
1. Why 10 days of service time?
2. If I sell my phone I wouldn't even get 2500Rs now and the repair costs WOOPING 2500rs just to replace the rubber panel on the phone. Is it the right cost given to me?
3. Can the service be done within few hours or 1 or 2 days?( Since its just replacing the rubber panel)
4. Why is the quality of Blackberry 8520 not up to BlackBerry standards? The buttons just fade off what ever is done! Sir. Spending 2500rs for one mobie is very expensive just for the rubber panel.
5. The total cost for both mobile is around Rs 5,000. It is very expensive because in both sets body (front & Back) is OK but rubber panel was fade off.
6. Having such a reputed company the quality of buttons is so poor. Is this a manufacturing Defect?
On your Z5's when you let the screen turn off automatically due to timeout, what is your animation? Does it dim out and turn off instantly or does it have a fade out effect?
Mine dims and turns off without a fade out effect which I swear was there before? I don't know.
Im wondering if theres anything to disable this...or its just me...i turned off the theme effects already. I just dont like it, i feel like it slows down the fone...im wondering if there could be any future updates on the nokia X6 since the last one was v40? Nokia need to remove this menu fade effect!

After pressing the On button at the top of the phone, the phone will vibrate after a sec and then there's a backlight but the "Sony Ericson" logo does not appear and after about 6 seconds the backlight will fade.
