I had the "SIM card not recognized" bug a couple weeks ago -fixed with pulling it and re-installing- now this happens..

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have attempted to upload photographs off my blackberry to my laptop using a usb cable and it has prompted me for a password, I tried the password I have to access my phone after one minute but this did not work, it then prompted me to put the word "blackberry" into the box. I did this and then it has asked for password again and again and agin, I am no at 9/10 and about to wipe all my information, I have tried all the options. Tried my registration password too. I cant afford for my phone to wipe itself clean.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've just taken delivery of a Lumia 800 and trying to get to grips with where everything is and how it works. I must say, it's far more complicated than I was expecting with basic task seeming to be more complicated than they need to be.
My question relates to attaching photos to messages on websites. I used my previous photo to email photos via Yahoo and submit them to a certain website while on the move. I've never had a problem doing this with any other phone. However, with the Lumia 800, it doesn't seem to allow you to to this. On the webpage I normally use, there is a box with a browse button that when you press, nothing seems to happen. On all phones previously, and when using the site from a pc, you simply press browse, select the file from the memory card / drive and press upload. But this doesn't seem to be the case on the Lumia 800. When you press browse, nothing happens, you don't get a box to select a file from the phone or anything.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've noticed on different websites and forums that people are having problem attaching album covers to albums they've added to their native Xoom music player. In order to ensure all your music has the appropriate albums attached, I would suggest using Windows Media Player. The steps are as follows.
Step 1. Add music to the "Library" with the list of songs from your artist of choice.
Step 2. Then browse to the album that is missing art.
Step 3. Using either Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer, in another window, find a picture that you want to use for album art (the picture can be in a file on your computer or on a webpage), right-click the picture, and then click Copy.
Step 4. In your library, right-click the album art box, and then click Paste Album Art.
A copy of the picture is embedded into each of the songs from that album. The copy of the picture is automatically scaled to the appropriate size and converted to the JPEG format before it is embedded in the file. The original picture file is not modified.
Step 5. Drag files from your library to the "Sync" tab, then sync songs to your Xoom. Now when you check your Xoom you should have all the album artwork attached to your albums.
We have just got a lumia 610 for my wife and we are happy with it so far.Problem we have is her son has sent her a couple of photos by SMS, the caption reads "Get media content", which we click on, it turns to "getting media content" for a few seconds before reverting to the previous message, but no photo? no link to the online O2 mwessage centre.

I installed a memory card to my blackberry curve. Under status for media card, it says that all the space is free. But my bb shows that memory is full. It's doing that great thing where is randomly erases messages and numbers in my call log. I don't know why it is not using the memory card since i have 3.6gb free on the card. Any ideas?i love my curve dont want to upgrade but this is crazy

I honestly have no idea what those are, but I thought that my WiFi/unlimited texting plan would cover my media messages. However, I have to enable my cellular data to send/receive such messages. If the only way for me to send picture and video messages is through using my cellular data, it feels like a waste
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to Version 5.0.1 neither the media manger nor blackberry media synch now work. the media manager always prompts to install and downloads but then does nothing. The blackberry media sync gets so far after launch the gives an error message. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling a number of times but cannot get the media manager to install so cannot now get any media off my phone or on to it. Any ideas anyone?

Anyway, I have a 2gb card installed but under the settings and memory section it says no card found. is there a way of getting it to reconise the card as my phone says its only got 90MB of internal memorey left which wont do me as I use it as a mp3 player as well.

Since that I only have one glitch, the media folder is called net_rim_bb_file_explorer.Media I assume that's the internal name, not the display name, anyone knows how to rename it?? I don't want to mess with the OS by downgrading or things like that, I'm quite happy with how the phone works as it is...
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have Storm (9500) and I've been trying for a few hours to transfer photos from my media card to my PC. Every time I connect to Media Sync with my Storm, I receive a messages saying my device is not recognised and to make sure the card is inserted correctly etc. here is what I have done and I still receive the same message -
Taken out the media card and reinserted it
Taken out the battery and reinserted it
turned all the settings in (Options Memory) to on
Auto Enable Mass Sttorage Mode when Connected is set to Yes
Tried connecting to all USB ports on the PC ( I have 4)
PC OS is Windows 7
I've checked for all possible updates on BlackBerry Software (Device and Desktop and Media Sync) I have a completely updates Storm in terms of Software.
Last night I bought two CDs on line. i downloaded them to my computer and plugged in my phone to download to the phone. Media link started up and downloaded every CD on the computer before I could stop it. (I had selected only the new CD's in media link) I had to go into my music and delete everything that was duplicated. Then I discovered that my playlists were all empty. I had gone though all of my music and put all songs in playlists. Now I had to do it again!! I thought I was all fixed up and discovered this morning that all 1,290 photos from my computer were loaded onto my phone as well. DO NOT leave media link on your computer. I'm removing it when I get home and I'll start doing the old copy/paste routine. Motorola should send warnings about Media Link to all customers.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to add some ringtones to my Torch. They are there and I can see them in the file manager or when I sync to my Mac. But when I go to the ringtones folder, they are not listed. There is an option to select music for a ringtone, so I put the mp3 file in the music folder along with other music files, but none show up.
The same thing happens when I take pictures with the phone. If I look at the pictures folder, it says no pictures. But if I go through file manager to the media card, I can see the pictures.
I recently installed OS 5.0.0.442 which was posted on the very first thread of the forum. I haven't had any issues with it until recently.
When I try a soft reset, I get the red indicator light as usual, but instead of resetting, I get a message on my screen that says something along the lines of "Media card installed. All media will be copied onto the device." After this dialog box goes away, the device does NOT reset. Any ideas on why the soft reset no longer works?
Ok, media card was working fine, had alot of work pictures stored on it and was becoming a hassle to hunt through all of them to find what I wanted. So, I inserted media card in computer and transfered what I wanted to a folder on the computer. Then I formatted the card using the computer. When I put the card back into the phone, the phone knows its there, but I must have wiped the card completely as none of the folders for video, pics, etc. are on it anymore. If I take a picture and go to find it, the media card does not even show up, just device memory.
Does anybody have a remedy for this? I already tried formatting the card in the phone but that didn't work. The phone is telling me in the memory options that 1.8GB is free, so I know it works, it just lost the folders or whatever........
my bb has started acting weird, sometimes( not always) when screen unlocked it automatically selects apps,writes messages,deletes messages,send messages etc. its like someone is logged in remotley and doing this, what is this and how can i stop it?

When I send messages to an ordinary cell phone, they sometimes go through as photo messages even though I have not touched the camera icon next to the text window. When I intentionally send a photo message, my phone asks me if I want to take a new photo or use one from my camera roll. This question isn't asked when I type a normal text message, but it often is received as a photo message even though there is no photo.
