I understand how to make changes to my kids' iphones in the restrictions area. But, does anyone have an application for parental monitoring that they are happy with?
my iphone hasn't been recognised through itunes for a while. Tried multiple different computers and no change with any of them. I had a lot of music on my phone but can't delete / manage it for above reason.
Syncing my iphone 4s to itunes for the first time an instant update began after completing an error message during update occured and my phone froze with the itunes logo on the screen tried turning on and off to reboot but nothing happens still frozen.
I set up my Blackberry, and it's been working fine for a month or two. However, my work email periodically forces me to change the password for security reasons. Unfortunately, having done this I tried to do so on my Blackberry Curve, and it asks for my Blackberry ID.I have a Blackberry ID. It works fine. I can log into my account on a PC, and use it to access Appworld. However, when I tried to do it on the phone, it didn't work. I checked the email, double checked the email, checked the password, double checked the password. All fine. Out of frustration, I went to "forget password" on the phone, thinking maybe if I reset it that would work.
I got this message:"Your request cannot be completed. Please ensure that your Blackberry ID has been activated and that you have typed the correct email address"I am tearing my hair out here. I know my Blackberry ID. I am looking at it on my PC where I have logged in, yet my phone now thinks it doesn't exist?
about 3 weeks ago I had the problem of formatting my sd card, because BB just kept telling me no card inserted etc. So I did that, I hooked up my bb on my pc, and start formatting it via windows.bout 2 days ago, I've experienced the same problemen, it started with whatsapp saying no mediacard inserted, but the difference is now I can't even format it, because bb isn't saying anything about formatting my card when I insert it, and neither my pc can locate my blackberry when plugged in.I bought a new 4GB SDHC card , but still not working
I get to the step of inserting the usb cable, while holding the back button, and nothing happens. except three beeps and the phone restarts. All firewalls and virus programs have been disabled. Latest version of Java (6-23) has been downloaded and presently running Windows XP Home Edition (32)
I have just upgraded my old Bold 9700 to a 9790 today, and when I plugged it into my laptop, it just isn't recognised. I have already charged the device, and everything on it appears to be working correctly, but there was no message from the laptop when I plugged it in with the USB cable.
I know there was another thread about this issue and he solved it with a new cable, but I would think this a bit of a coincidence that there was something wrong with mine when it worked perfectly well with the 9700 recently! I am also running Windows 7.
Over the last few days I've received text messages from some friends who have new numbers. I saved the numbers to their existing contacts, overwriting the old numbers.
Despite having restarted the phone several times and removing the sim card, whenever I look at my texts, the messages from these numbers only show the number they were sent from, rather than the contact's name.
I have had a look online and it seems that this problem is usually caused by duplicate contacts. I have used the phone's search function to make sure that each number only appears once, and there are also no duplicate contact names.
Some other advice online suggests that the area code could be problematic. I have tried changing the beginning of each number to 0 rather than +44 (and back again) - no difference, I am now at a loss and unable to tell who is texting me without using the search function, which is pretty ridiculous.
I've searched all over the internet for solutions and have had no luck! When I connect my blackberry to my laptop (using windows) with the USB cable no message comes up on my phone about using it in mass storage mode. All that happens is the blackberry charges and Blackberry desktop manager opens, my laptop doesn't actually recognise it as a mass storage device.I have a blackberry bold 9700 using software version 6.0I've checked for updates using my blackberry and everything seems to be up to dateWent onto options>device>storage>ticked the box next to media card supportI then tried going onto device manager>double clicked blackberry martphone>details>Device instance path and it has a PID of 8004 so that's fine, there would be a problem if it showed 8001Tried downloading the tool anyway which is meant to solve a PID of 8001 in case but still no luckRestarted the blackberry, restarted the laptop, tried every usb port - still nothing!
Even though it's not a video, but a CD I've ripped to my computer! Checked the file format, some MP4s are being recognised as normal audio but others are being recognised as video.
I connect my Z3+ often to my desktop computer (Apple Mac) to sync/charge/backup. Recently I noticed that it not being recognised when I plug it in. The only way I can get it to work is to reboot the phone, whilst connected via USB. Then, after its fully booted, it works as expected.
My iPhone 3G is being recognised perfectly happily by iTunes, but absolutely nothing else. It doesn't appear in Finder and doesn't open iPhoto when I plug it in, so I can back up my photos.
I've tried restarting both the Mac (which is running Snow Leopard) and the iPhone. I've tried several cables. The result is always the same. iTunes spots the iPhone (it did use to automatically open iTunes, but I stopped that) and nothing else. No icon on the desktop, no appearance in Finder and won't show in any searches I do.
How can I fix this, and start backing up photos again?
I upgraded the memory micro-card within the Torch 9800 from 4GB to 16GB. The handset recognises the increase(under Device/Storage) , but the media synching mechanism won't recognise any more than 4GBReloaded the software, but the software still only recognises a 4GB maximum.
I have bought a Sony Ericsson C902 second hand and it is not detected by PC suite. When I follow the instructions on pc suite, the phone recognises that it has been plugged in to a computer, but next remains dimmed whatever I try. Please help, as I don't know what to do
MY Nexus 5 suffered a battery failure recently. I have managed to replace that and all good with respect to that. However, since then I am unable to get my phone to recognise the SIM. The SIM was working fine but now I can't connect to my network (Tesco), It seems to recognise the SIM as it states - "No Service - Tesco" in the status panel at the top of the screen. The phone is well out of warranty and was bought directly from CarphoneWarehouse.
I've tried my wife's micro SIM in the Nexus and no luck there either. Further, I've tried my SIM in another old phone and it works fine. Finally, I've resorted to having a new SIM sent out by Tesco and tried that .... and still no luck.
I've tried a factory reset a few times and inserted the SIM with the phone switched off ....
It sometimes mounts but then it crashes.but it hasn't mounted for a few days now .Ive tried reseting , turning the phone off and going on the computer to see if the computer recognises the sd card but nothing works .what happened and how can i fix it?
My Bold 9700 is not recognising the contact name for SMS messages properly. But it is a different problem to what others have described. When I receive a message, it shows the contact's name correctly (which was the problem others had I think). But then if I turn off the bb and remove the battery, then replace it and turn the phone back on, none of the SMS messages have the proper contact names - it just shows either their phone number, or their name if I have them stored on my SIM. What's more, this problem only occurs if the contact's phone number is stored with spaces and brackets in it [ie, +64 (21) xxx xxx].
I realise I could go through and add everyone to my SIM card or remove the brackets and spaces from contacts' phone numbers but a) this wasn't a problem before (on 8310 and 8520) so should be able to be fixed b) my SIM card wont fit all my contacts anyway c) phone numbers are hard to read without spaces and brackets d) it's such a waste of time! My software version is 5.0.0.344 (which is actually later than what I can download!)
The story so far: I bought an accessory in Nov 2011 at an Apple Retail Store. (Philips dual-dock speaker) It started malfunctioning in Mar 2012. (Dock not charging anymore) I brought it to an Apple Store (closer to my place), they were happy to replace it on the spot, except that there was none in stock. So I was advised to go to an other Store (the original one), where they had stock. So far, so good for service. I went to the other store, but there I was told that they could not replace it because I had bought it more than 14 days before, so I had to contact the manufacturer directly! So my questions are:
- What is, if any, the actual policy on non-Apple product repair & replacement?
- Why don't all store follow the same policy?
- Should I just try my luck again with another person, until I strike gold and get it replaced?
I made a purchase for a black bumper and paid $31.60 but when I go to the Apple.com website to check the status of my refund its shows "There is no record of a refund for the receipt number you entered." I tried entering my receipt number plus last 4 of card and I also tried just entering the full CC number as well and get that response for both.
Just wanting to know if anyone has possibly experienced before, wanted to to see if any Macforum members have had this issue and what was the resolution to your issue? Should I just call Apple? Are they giving refunds in store if you take in your receipt?
