Xperia Z3 :: Device Not Being Recognised With Connecting To A Computer
Feb 6, 2014
I connect my Z3+ often to my desktop computer (Apple Mac) to sync/charge/backup. Recently I noticed that it not being recognised when I plug it in. The only way I can get it to work is to reboot the phone, whilst connected via USB. Then, after its fully booted, it works as expected.
I have just upgraded my old Bold 9700 to a 9790 today, and when I plugged it into my laptop, it just isn't recognised. I have already charged the device, and everything on it appears to be working correctly, but there was no message from the laptop when I plugged it in with the USB cable.
I know there was another thread about this issue and he solved it with a new cable, but I would think this a bit of a coincidence that there was something wrong with mine when it worked perfectly well with the 9700 recently! I am also running Windows 7.
I've searched all over the internet for solutions and have had no luck! When I connect my blackberry to my laptop (using windows) with the USB cable no message comes up on my phone about using it in mass storage mode. All that happens is the blackberry charges and Blackberry desktop manager opens, my laptop doesn't actually recognise it as a mass storage device.I have a blackberry bold 9700 using software version 6.0I've checked for updates using my blackberry and everything seems to be up to dateWent onto options>device>storage>ticked the box next to media card supportI then tried going onto device manager>double clicked blackberry martphone>details>Device instance path and it has a PID of 8004 so that's fine, there would be a problem if it showed 8001Tried downloading the tool anyway which is meant to solve a PID of 8001 in case but still no luckRestarted the blackberry, restarted the laptop, tried every usb port - still nothing!
i bought the x10 3 months back, works like a charm.but today i used the usb cable to connect my cx10 to my PC,it wont show the "Mount" "Dont Mount" screen when the top application bar is dragged down.I connected the x10 to my laptop(vaio W series),it still doesnt connect.THERE IS NO NOTIFICATION ICON ON THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE SCREEN TO INDICATE THE PHONE IS CONNECTED.BUT P.S note, the battery charging icon is on when i do this.SAVE ME.I USE THIS CABLE TO TRANSFER FILES TO & FROM ALL THIS WHILE.So,no talk of this cable not being able to transfer files
Worked fine earlier (about an hour ago), red light comes on when attached to USB but won't charge. I've already tried changing USB ports, charging phone via mains, taking battery out and everything else i can think of!
while i am connecting my neo v to the pc through a usb cable and when i am using my device it does not navigate as i want it to do it keeps staying on the home page not allowing me to navigate any where after i updated it to the latest update available but not ice cream sandwich.
I want to connect my xperia pro to my car audio system. (Bluetooth of my car audio system has a pairing code) when I want to connect, the page of entering pairing code not appear and an error will appear in screen ("wrong pairing code").
I get to the step of inserting the usb cable, while holding the back button, and nothing happens. except three beeps and the phone restarts. All firewalls and virus programs have been disabled. Latest version of Java (6-23) has been downloaded and presently running Windows XP Home Edition (32)
It sometimes mounts but then it crashes.but it hasn't mounted for a few days now .Ive tried reseting , turning the phone off and going on the computer to see if the computer recognises the sd card but nothing works .what happened and how can i fix it?
My 4 month old Xperia Z2 has always worked fine until today. It was connected to my Mac computer, and I was asked to update Sony bridge for MAC. After about 10 mins it said Update Failed on the computer. I disconnected the phone, but now the phone wont turn on - all I get is an error message saying "Software update failed, make sure that your phone is connected to the computer and try again"
However when I connect it, the device isnt recognised.
I cant switch the phone off or on, all thats happening is a continuous loop of red light and then the error message (it's on charge at the moment)....
I have successfully connected my new X8 to my pc a few times but when I went to do it today to put photos from phone to pc, it keeps closing My Computer. I click back into it, go into "Phone Card" and straight away My Computer closes, just disappears from screen so I can't see any files on pic. My also tried the SE software and it does the same. Does anyone know why this is happening
My original computer died, and I don't have a phyical back up of my data. If I try to sync the device to a new computer will I lose everything currently on my phone? If so, is there a way around this?
You've probably all been asked this loads and I've read some forums posts and tried software but ive not been able to find a solution or answer.Basically Ive just got myself a Storm2 and was told by my provider that I could sync my emails from outlook to my device and back like a windows mobile device. As ive found out this isnt the case, I really like the phone and dont want to hand it back over to swap for another device but if I dont find a solution then I wont have a choice. My question is, is there any software available that will sync my device to my computer the same as a WM device does through activesync?I have tried Astrasync and Notifysync both which throw errors up and dont work

Last week I purchased the LG Versa and I'm loving the phone, but for some reason I can't get it to connect to my laptop. I have Windows XP which works with the Versa and I follow the steps to get the phone to connect using a USB.Steps :

But the phone says that their was no connection to check connection and try again. I do and try again and again, but still no connection.I hope someone can help me out and let me know were I'm going wrong. Also I have a new Micro SD card for this phone... I have already paired the phone with it.
I have a customer who came in the other day with a problem. He purchased a Samsung Omnia II from Bell and had them unlock the phone for him so he can use it in the Dominican while he's down there for 2-3 months at a time. Problem is this, he hasn't been able to successfully get the phone to connect with his computer. Bell tech support have gone over several possible solutions to no avail. He has tried connecting to both a Windows based PC as well as a Mac and still no connection, although the Mac apparently will get further in connecting before failing.
I'm wondering if the phone being unlocked might be causing the issues, but Bell themselves unlocked it. The customer is coming back in this weekend and I would like to have some kinda answer or at least hope of an answer for him.
I recently bought a second hand iphone 4 and I have taken it home and realised its not charging or connecting to the computer or iTunes! I was wondering if this is something to do with the charging port?

Recently whenever I plug my HTC Tattoo into my computer via USB, nothing happens, and won't recongise it being there. No pop-up comes up on my phone either. I'm on Vista. Is there anything I can do short of a complete phone reset to see if that works?
I use to never have a problem with this until this past spring. Basically i cannot connect my phone via USB cord to the computer. I thought i found a work around by removing the battery and then rebooting the computer. well it seam to be getting harder to do this.
