My iPhone will not sync to iTunes and transfer all the music i've downloaded to my iPhone. it does not even recognize that my iPhone exists on my macbook. I have updated my computer and iPhone. turned both devices on and off. unplugged my router and plugged back in. removed 3rd party anti-virus software (as others have mentioned that). i even took it tot he apple store to plug it in to their computers and their computers recognize it.

I used up my data plan very quickly in the last 2 days because the iPhone would not stay connected to Wi-Fi when I was streaming music form SkyFM through my new docked speakers. I had read that the iPhone was supposed to keep its Wi-Fi connection when plugged in but this does not appear to be true. The phone is a 3GS running iOS 5.1 (regretably) which by the way has slowed the phone to a crawl even worse than iOS 4 had.

How to set the phone to Charge Only when connected to a pc with a USB cable? Just got my M8 from Verizon yesterday. On any other android devices I've owned, when you connect the device to my Mac with a USB cable, you get the option to change the connection type: Charge only, disk drive, usb tethering (or HTC sync, for HTC devices).
On the M8, When I connect it to my Mac, I get a notification saying "Media device [MTP] connected", and another notice saying "USB connected - Tap to change settings". The MTP notice doesn't do anything when tapped. Tapping the USB connected notice, takes me to the Mobile Hotspot & tethering settings page. I've got "Mobile Hotspot" and "Bluetooth tethering" both turned off. "USB network setting" is set to "None". There doesn't appear to be an option to specify charge only.
On the Mac, it mounts a filesystem containing only the HTC Sync Manager (which won't run, because it was compiled for old PowerPC Macs).
My iPhone 5S charges fine when USB plugged in at wall but when plugged into computer nothing happens. I have tried using a different cable and computer but the same results. Any way to fix this as I would like to sync my phone again?Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently when I plugged my Bionic into the USB port to download some photos, I received a device not recognized popup. From day one I have been able to plug this in, and Windows 7 would automatically assign a drive letter and I had access to my SD card. I have downloaded the Motorola Device Manager. From what I can tell, it should appear in the system tray. It does not. I have uninstalled, then reinstalled this program to no avail. Opening the case to remove the SD card to stick it into the card reader on my computer is a major pain.

My new Lumia 1020 was connected to wifi when I began setting it up. I got a data usage warning message the next day, so I made sure it was still connected to wifi - then I got another warning message advising me more charges were being applied to the data plan. I called ATT and explained and was told that the 4GLTE runs all kinds of stuff in the background that uses data and to turn the data off. I did - since then, no more data usage - however - it will not stay connected to wifi after a time out unless it is plugged in. It still shows that its connected to wifi but its not.

As ive found out this isnt the case, I really like the phone and dont want to hand it back over to swap for another device but if I dont find a solution then I wont have a choice. My question is, is there any software available that will sync my device to my computer the same as a WM device does through activesync?I have tried Astrasync and Notifysync both which throw errors up and dont work

After a few minutes PC & BB icons appear on BB screen but no interconnecting arrows. When I try to sync there is no device and PIN number showing on Device Mgr so it doesn't sync. Then the Desktop Mgr greys out and appears to freeze - I then have to disconnect the BB to unfreeze.
Device manager shows two RIM virtual serial ports v2 Com 3 & Com 4. If I try to update the drivers it says most up to date are loaded although the drivers are dated 24 Nov 2008 and are version 2.2.0.3 and appear to be called RimSerial_AMD64.sys (I'm using Intel i7 processor).
Devices & Printers screen shows a RIM Composite Device icon.
