My 'facetime' stopped working for some reason. I did use facetime just a day ago and didn't do changes since then. For some reason it stopped working. So, as per my wife's advice, I did 'Reset all settings'. But, for some reason after doing its thing it is asking me to 'Set Up iPhone' with these options:Set Up as New iPhone, Restore from iCloud Backup, Restore from iTunes Backup. This scared me...did I lose my media. I have tons of videos and pictures of my son. I didn't want to lose them. So, I jsut stopped proceeding.

I've been told by Verizon and by Motorola that I need to do a factory reset. (Moto Approach stopped working yesterday and we can't get it to start again.)
Before doing that, is there any way to backup my folder settings (which apps are grouped together in which folders on my home screens)
I'm using Nexus5 w/ Marshmallow (6.0), original stock.Yesterday I found a app that can improve the volume too weak issue and it need to unlock the phone.
I follow the steps to unlock the phone, after I run command "fastboot boot twrp.img", then the phone rebooted and perform something around 10 minutes, after the phone resumed to system, seem all the data(apps/photo/video) are deleted, seem perform a factory reset. before that, some files didn't perform backup, now how to I recover those files after factory reset??
I try many tools said can recover after factory reset or wiped, for example Dr.Fone, EaseUS MobiSaver, Recuva, DiskDigger on Android, some can found files but all not I needed and the phone already rooted. How to recover some, not all.
I want to do a factory reset on my Nexus 5 but I don't want any backups/sync'd data to be restored (i.e. I want to completely start over as if I just got the device). I know how to do the factory reset but I'm not sure how to avoid any automatic restores or outdated/unwanted backup data.
Also, I noticed that in the Play Store apps that I no longer have installed still show up as installed. In fact a couple of apps that were never installed on my Nexus 5 (they were installed on an Android tablet that I no longer have a couple years ago) still show up. Is there a way to clear this/start over?
Just got another V10 and I notice in settings, about phone, status it shows a last factory data reset date and time. This is the same date and time that I opened and started the phone new out of the box.
I have never done a factory data reset to the phone. Does your V10 show a "Last Factory Data Reset" under these settings?
I've never seen a new phone fresh out of the box showing a last factory data reset logged.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe Motorola support page that tells you how to do a factory data reset gives two methods: Settings and External Keys. It also says that using the Settings method is preferable. Does anyone know why the Settings method is preferred? Is the outcome of both methods the same? The instructions (and user guide) say that the Settings method doesn't erase your external SD card, and will only erase internal storage if you choose to. Does the External Keys method work the same way? (I've used those key strokes to clear the data cache, but can't remember what the other choices are).

I have a Verizon S5 and am currently still on Kit Kat (intentionally I might add).
I was just curious if doing a factory reset as my phone is currently configured would automatically upgrade me to lollipop or if it would do a fresh Kit Kat upgrade and prompt me that an update is available?
I am not really having any issues with my phone I just like to do a factory reset every once in a while.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhat does the "Reset Network Settings" option do? I found this suggestion under the "calls connection issues" topic and all it says is that it will "clear current cellular and Wi-Fi network settings, saved networks, Wi-Fi passwords and VPN settings" but doesn't go into any details of what happens next. Will the phone just automatically reassign the proper settings or will I have a dead phone? I'm on Verizon and have iPhone 4S, OS 5.1 The reason I went looking is because when I first got the iPhone in Jan 2012, I would have issues with calls going straight to voicemail even though my phone was on and showing strong reception. The phone wouldn't ring or anything and then I wouldn't get my VM messages until hours later. This would also happen with text messages. I didn't even know there was an issue, nothing on the phone indicated anything like missed calls or bad/no connection, and would only find out when friends told me or I'd listen to the VM. And it didn't happen all the time just every now and again.
So I had to call Verizon several times and on the last call they refreshed my network line, so I didn't have to do a phone wipe/reset, and that seemed to do the trick. But just today I discovered that now calls are just ringing, but not ringing on my handset. So I have to dial *832 to test the line, which passes, and then everything is fine again:calls come through, and all texts that were held in purgatory while this anomaly happens, come through immediately. So I'm wondering if resetting the network will solve my issue. Is anyone experiencing the same? BTW, yes, I've checked the most obvious thing, and no, I do not have my ringer silenced, off, or have the switch on red.
I reset my iPhone 4 to factory settings. Now the home screen is grey with the work iPhone. No USB plug, no apple logo.
