I'm a Canadian and would like use my Iphone 4S while visiting the US. Anyone have any info on US packages or know if they would even work on my phone that's connected to a Canadian carrier (Telus)? I've heard that roaming fees are outrageous! If I don't get a US package, can I use my phone to call, text or surf the Internet at WiFi spots without incurring roaming charges (or any other charges)? I'm a bit new at this as I only recently bought my Iphone.
I live in China and have a China iPhone 4S Model MD242CH currently subscribed to China Mobile. I will be going on vacation in Canada and I want to be able to take my iPhine 4S with me and change out my China Mobile MicroSIM card for a Canadian carriers MicroSIM card (Rogers Wireless, Fido Solutions, Bell Mobility, Telus Mobility, ???). It would also be nice if the 3G (or 2.5G GPRS/EDGE) works. What about my iPhone 4S WiFi ??
I plan on buying an iPhone in the US on launch day without activating it immediately. Does anybody know if I will be able to activate and use it in Canada with my carrier, or will it be locked to AT&T? I don't want to have to unlock it. Otherwise I will wait for the official Canadian release. I will be in New York on the 24th so I'm just hoping to be able to get it early?
Given that Quebec has very high sales tax (14.5%), I want to buy an iphone 4s in New Hampshire (no tax). I currently use Rogers (GSM, no data plan) for my phone service. Will it work properly without complication? Will all functions still work (facetime, wifi, etc)?Does it come with a micro sim card? If not, where in Canada can i buy one, and how much will it cost?Do i activate it at home, or at the apple store in canada?
Just wondering have anyone try purchasing the new unlocked 3GS from Apple directly and use it in the states with AT&T? I send one down to US and my friend is saying he got a "Sim card inserted in this phone does not appear to be supported" message.
My iPhone 4 is currently locked to Bell-Canada.. It is now out of contract and I've already cancelled my bell account.. Now I want to unlock it.. But Bell is not offering unlock.. What to do????
I just got my new4S two days ago, and I love it! But one of the problems is that Siri dosen't work for directions in Canada. I has just wondering when this will be fixed or how to fix it..
I am unable to get response when I ask Siri about locations in Canada The IPhone 4S was bought in Canada but is not able to answer simple questions such as locations or local points of interests.
I have a E72 in Canada (Toronto, more precisely) and the GPS does not work at all. When I go into GPS it does show the very general map of the area (major highways only), but if I do a zoom no street view, nothing...and it definitely won't search for anything (streets or driving direction). I have turned on A_GPS but it does not seem to help. I am wondering if it's because I am in North America and this phone is still not widely in use yet? I also have a incoming SMS time problem.
i bought the motoactv from asia. i guess it is using an asia rom. i have moved back to canada and when i reset the device to factory mode, canada was not available on the list as a country of choice.
Our son is presently looking at this phone here in Western Canada.Basic needs:
1. clarity of voice' 2. loud speaker phone 3. user friendly 4. used as reliable phone and no texting 5. no e-mail
Wants a quality phone without bells and whistles that has good reception and very good quality speaker phone. Not interested in texting, music, e-mails.Perhaps occasional camera use.He last used one of our Krazr K1 phones which we now need and he wants a phone that is similar and this one was suggested.Experienced user comments appreciated, as no one in the family has ever used an LG before.(BTW, we are not saying all 'LG' models are the same...we are simply saying that we are unfamiliar with them, unlike our longevity in use of Motos)Would this phone be a comparable to the Krzr K1...better or? He needs a GSM phone.
Im sure your loving your Nexus One as much as me but there is one thing missing from this AMAZING phone... Turn by Turn Navigation. One reason why I was so excited about this phone was the Turn By Turn Navigation feature. No where does google say that the turn by turn feature is restricted to America.Lets shine some light and get this fixed. They now ship the phone to Canada and this feature should be available in Canada too.
I'm thinking about getting an droid incredible but it seems canada is still far away from getting its own incredible. Im wondering if it is possible to import it from the states and use it in canada. Thank you
Why when I try to send a text to canada while vacationing in Greece, do I always get a message send failure message, but I can still receive messages from Canada.
I am thinking of either buy the phone from T-mobile or Bell Canada. T-mobile phone that is unlocked can work on AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Fido, Telus and T-Mobile and WindMobile. Tmobile version on the samsung vibrant doesn't have front facing camera.Bell version of Samsung vibrant has front facing camera. Can someone post other hidden 3g bands this phone supports by following these instructions:http://www.howardforums.com/showthre TT-3g-capable!If bell phone supports all four spectrum as T-moblie, I will buy Bell Samsung galaxy, only because of front facing camera.
That being the case, I downloaded the map files for Alberta onto my 5800XM and checked that Banff and Calgary map info was present. No problem with Banff road details and POI's but although the name 'Calgary' is shown on the map, the main roads stop short of the city and absolutely no roads are shown going into the city and no POI's are pesent for Calgary.
I will be travelling to London, Barcelone and Amsterdam this summer. I currently reside in Vancouver, Canada. I would like to use my blackberry 9700 in Europe, Please let me know what prepaid sim is the best to call back Canada. Also I would like to use data when im down there, so phone and data sim card would be great,
Has anyone had any experience using an i9000 in Canada on either of the three big networks (Bell, Rogers and Telus)? What I need to know is if it'll work well in HSDPA mode given that it only has one (1900) of the two required Canadian HSDPA bands (850 and 1900). What bothers me it that it looks like the one Bell is launching (the "Vibrant") has only two HSDPA bands instead of three, and I really need the European band as well (2100). Hence Bell's Vibrant won't work in HSDPA mode in Europe.
