I searched for the app "Chrome" on my iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1.1. I wasn't shown the Chrome browser in the search results. However, when I search for the same app on iTunes on my mac, I can find that app. I don't want to synch my phone to my computer just to install this app.

Next: Restore from Backup and some apps failed to repopulate.
The apps have obviously been updated over the years, needing iOS 7, but this iPhone is stuck at 4.2.1

Since iOS8.1, spotlight search no longer seems to be able to find apps on my device.I have 450 apps, and have used spotlight search since it was first introduced to find apps buried in directories on various home screens. I've tried turning off all other areas spotlight search can search, leaving only applications, yet that doesn't work. Most recent iOS8.1.2 update still has this issue.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've looked around but couldn't find anything. I've noticed that when I change my DPI in the build.prop the Google Search bar is gone from the top of the recent app list. I've changed my DPI on every device I've owned, and this is the first time I've noticed this issue.
I've also noticed that once in a while it does appear, but I don't exactly know what's triggering it, and it will disappear the next time I go to the recents menu.
I'm most comfortable at 500 right now. I've tried 520, 480, and 420 (what the N5X is at). Everyone of them seems to have this issue. I really can't stand keeping it at 560.

I have recently moved to a new MBP. I have synced my iPhone apps (394) to iTunes on the new computer. They show up on iTunes. However, only 200 of them are displayed on the iPhone, despite iTunes saying that I have all 395 apps ready.
Moreover, they appear in random order. Which is really a bad surprise knowing the amount of work put in arranging them.

I have my search function configured to show apps, but when I do a search apps don't actually show up (most of the time) unless I hit the button in the search dialog and then select Apps. Other search types (e.g., contacts) seem to work fine.

I bought AppleTV today with the intention to stream A/V and show/listen to applications which run on my iPhone. The result was that I could install a remote controll app on my iPhone for the AppleTV, but I still cannot stream any content directly from my iPhone on the TV sceen cannot. Is this possible at all. I am interested to see and listen to some text-to-speech apps on my TV. There are possibly other interesting iPhone apps for a big screen. But I am disappointed from what AppleTV delivers to this moment: only available comtent on the Internet and my PCs/macs via iTunes.

I just go my Droid Razr Maxx two days ago, and after installing a few apps, I tried performing a search in the All Apps screen. An error message popped up saying The application Home-screen (process com.Motorola.home) has stopped unexpectedly. try again. and then the Homescreen reboots and everything works except in the All Apps.

Skype was working okay, but today, when I tried to call someone from my phone, it said i had to allow skype to use the mic, but I had already done that. I still went to privacy settings, but no apps showed up there. But on the camera, while I had multiple apps that use it, none showed up either. My iPhone display is showing all my apps and text about 4x bigger than normal. It's a ***** to try to move around the pane and especially to do my pin if I turn it on. Tapping three fingers on the screen doesn't change the zoom.  I managed to get into Settings to check if the display was zoomed and it was set on standard. Resetting the phone doesn't work either. This has happened on my older 5s when my hand has been on an open display when the phone was in my pocket.  I think this last time my hand was on the screen for more than 10 seconds.

Is there a known issue with the Search Screen Keyboard not hiding itself when you leave the search screen in IOS 5.1.1? Ever since I upgraded, if I go to the search screen, then flick the screen back to the first Aps page, the keyboard stays there in the middle of the screen and I have to click the off button off and on again.
