I just go my Droid Razr Maxx two days ago, and after installing a few apps, I tried performing a search in the All Apps screen. An error message popped up saying The application Home-screen (process com.Motorola.home) has stopped unexpectedly. try again. and then the Homescreen reboots and everything works except in the All Apps.

Only option is to press the Force close and from then on the phone does NOT work right. I end up having to power it off and back on.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI put the Motorola toggle widgets on my home screen (e.g. toggle data, wifi, bluetooth, GPS). I rebooted and they disappeared. I tried to re-add them. I can't. I can add toggle widgets from the Android Market. I can't re-add the Motorola widgets, but also, the space where they should be is not available to add another widget either. i.e. I've now got a dead/unusable space on my home screen.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm having a strange issue which I have not found on any forums.Up until yesterday I had a Droid X, which was working fine until the speaker had an issue. So, I did a factory reset. First one ever since going to Gingerbread. Since then, if I use the hard button to search for contacts the results always send me to the same contact.For example: Lets say I have contacts John Smith, Larry Jones, and Susan Doe.Search for Doe, shows me Susan Doe's name, click on her name...and John Smith opens up.Search for Jones, shows me Larry Jones' name, click on his name...and John Smith opens up.No pattern as to why it's John Smith. Not first in the contact list or anything. And, if I delete John Smith, then another contact becomes the 'go-to' contact. Again, no pattern as to why.
So, why is this in the Droid X2 forum? Because I didn't worry too much about this issue since I was getting a new phone, a Droid X2. Got the new phone, set it up...and the same issue is in this one. I did not import any contacts directly from the one phone to the other using VZW or Gmail. All contacts are loaded via DejaOffice/Companionlink. Very frustrating, since the hard button was how I would bring up my contacts.
Using Voice Search on my RAZR MAXX, using it for the automatic commands, I'm getting odd results. Here's a specific example...
speaking ... "Call Mom mobile" - This comes up w/ the display that's about to call a number, but it has the wrong number. The screenshot has the number blocked out and I aded "Wrong Number" on top of it, but so people could see what stage I'm at.This also occurs using the autocomplete when sending a text message. I type in "mom" and the WRONG contact shows up in the drop down below (wrong name, wrong number). *** It is important to note here that the WRONG contact that shows up in this case MATCHES the wrong contact that shows up w/ Voice Search.This used to work just fine, I've used it for months. But it's recently stopped working.
So, using "People" (which is listed as "Contacts" in manage apps?! - so, under Apps, only "People" is listed, no "Contacts" ... under manage apps, no "People" entry is listed, only "Contacts") on my phone - entry for "Mom" is NOT present. But, an entry using her first / last is there. The number is present, the wrong number is not.Getting online to check my contacts directly with google - there IS an entry for "Mom", with the correct number, the wrong number is not there. If I do a search for the wrong number, it takes me to the correct contact (not Mom), if I search for Mom's number, it pulls up the correct contact (Mom).
I have over 3000 contacts. When entering a name in the search field, the Razr only seems to search for the FIRST word in a contact field. Because I have so many contacts, I input key words in contact fields. Either in first name, last name or company. I may have the persons name in the last & first name fields and in the company field I may input their company name and or simply input several key words to remember them by... such as where I met them, how I remember them, etc. Now, my iphone will search for ANY of these words in the contacts fields, however my new Razr seems to only pick up the FIRST WORD in each field. With as many contacts as I have, I cannot depend on searching this way! COME ON!?, Really? Am I doing something wrong?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy voice search doesn't work when I am on wifi data. It keeps thinking over and over and comes back with no results. But when I switch to mobile data network it works fine and returns the results right away. I can not even use speech to text feature while on wifi it, it does the same thing as voice search on wifi. I am not able to find out what the problem is. The formatting was incorrectly checked causing all caps. Just changed the formatting to correct that.

I was wondering if there's any way to access search from the lock screen - the Jelly Bean FAQs mention that it's possible to access voice search by "swiping up on the lock screen", but that doesn't seem to work. Is it just not possible with the Razr HDs software, or am I missing something very obvious?
I have a Droid Turbo. Sometime today the little microphone button on my home page has stopped working when pressed. It only happens on my homepages on the phone, so if I tap on Google and bring up the browser page or then I can tap on the microphone and talk.
If I'm on the Home Screen; however, I can press it again and again and it is totally unresponsive. I have tried:
-turning the phone off and on again,
- going onto home-screen settings and turning google search on and off
- downloaded a anti-virus program suggested by a friend with the same phone and done searches.
This may seem like a rather small issue, but I use that microphone button a lot when using my phone.
how to manage when capacitive buttons (settings, home, back, search) lights on, because, when I use my Moto in night, I need to guess where is Home and Back buttons.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI purchased a Targus Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard (has the Android logo and claims compatibility). It paired and connected without any issues and works with all of the apps that I have tried (gmail, text client, Docs To Go, etc.). It also works with Webtop apps, including Citrix (which is why I needed the keyboard).The problem is that when the keyboard is connected, Webtop will randomly crash and re-start (Motorola logo appears and Webtop re-initializes). I have tried this many times, with and without the keyboard and it is definitely related to having the keyboard connected. Sometimes it will crash right away, while other times it will last 2 or 3 mins. It always fails with 5 mins.
I have tried it using 4G (mine will go to 3G at times due to my area) only (WIFI off) and did not effect the crashing (though WIFI does seem to have conflicts with Bluetooth being on).Has anyone successfully had a Bluetooth keyboard work? Is there a setting I am missing?
Has anyone tried this app? It uses the proximity sensor to turn the screen on. From what I have read, the "lite" version was designed for one certain phone but the pro version ($1.28) is supposed to work on all phones. There are not a lot of reviews as it is a relatively new app but almost all are positive. It is in the Google Play Store under Smart Screen On Pro. Curious to know if it actually works as they say it does. I really dislike using the power button to turn the screen on. I guess I was so used to the home button on the DX turning it on. if anyone has tried it, would like to hear yeas or nays on how it works.

It would be nice if you could do that with the notifications also, like text and email etc. Cause sometimes I can't just get my phone out cause I'm doing something or have my hands full and so on. It should be like that with all of the sound where you can just hit the power button to silence the ringer on everything.

View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else notice a delay in volume adjustment when you try to raise or lower the volume via the side buttons while playing music? my razr seems to hate doing so, the media volume bar will appear and disappear several times before the volume is raised all the way. my droid 2 took only about a second of holding the up button, holding the up button on my razr doesnt move the volume more than one or two clicks.

Or sometimes I can find it but with all the contact information deleted.I am using Verizon Backup assitant to manage my contacts. I wonder if anyone else have the same problem. View 2 Replies View RelatedThe Apps button (lower right button) on the home screen is different than on the DX. On the DX it always (almost) launched the "All Apps" group. On the Bionic it launches the most recently viewed group. Since I have set up groups on my home screen this renders the Apps button useless since it is always showing me the last viewed group. Now I have to dedicate a home screen icon to a real "All Apps" group. The old DX functionality was much better.

We need to be able to disable all apps that is safe to do so. Cause the three that I mention here are running all the time and I don't even use them. I've stopped them and there already running again. At least make these 3 so that they can be disabled.
