I'm running 3.0.1 on a 3GS and never upgraded to iTunes 9 because I wasn't sure if it was safe w/ my phone being jailbroken. Since then, I haven't thought about it, but was wondering if it is safe to up iTunes 9 from 8.
I have a jailbroken iPhone 3GS. Is it safe to upgrade to the newest iTunes that's just been released? I tried searching but didn't find anything relevant.
I have an iPhone 4 black 32 GB with ios 4.3.3 Model#MC605ZP with 4.10.01 firmware factory unlocked. Is it safe to upgrade to ios 5 via iTunes without locking my phone?
My Iphone 4 has been synchronizing for 4 hours and seems to be stuck on step 6 of 6 (Downloading Safari safe browsing data). It was taking a very long time before, and I had to stop the syncronization before it was finished. Now all of my music is greyed out. Is this normal?
After attempting to upgrade software for my iphone 4s via itunes, the upgrade failed and my phone froze with a picture of an usb plug.I even uninstalled security on my computer.
I have apps that have updates and some are too large to update on my iPhone. I plugged my iPhone into iTunes and pulled up the apps that are installed but I can not find where I can start the updates. It looks like it does not automatically identify which apps have updates.
So I have been looking forward to the new iPhone OS. Now it is out I want to update my 3GS, iTunes says there is a new version of iPhone software, click update to get it. But when I click it, it says "iTunes is upto date" WTF? iTunes seems be confused itself with iPhone. I tried to search to see anybody posted the same problem, could not find it. I have iTunes 9.1.1 (T2) on my MacBook pro. Anybody know how to fix this?
It keeps asking me to update to iTunes version 10.5, I did so for my computer as well as the iPhone. But after that, when I plugged in the iPhone to the computer, it asked the same question again.
i'm in the middle up doing the iOS upgrade on my 3GS and iTunes is "not responding!what do i do?? i know if i disconnect i'm going to get a non-responsive iphone... what exactly.... step by step... so i have to do to get my iphone back?
I was trying to sync my iPhone 3GS when I was prompted to upgrade it. I went ahead and clicked yes to upgrade it. I left the computer and whe I returned about an hour later it asked me to enter my passcode so I did. Then it did its thing for about 30 minutes before telling me there was an unkwown error while upgrading it. During that time the screen on the iphone switched to the image of the usb cord with an arrow poining at the iTunes logo. I restarted my computer and disconnected and reconnected my iphone and now iTunes won't even read it and my iPhone won't do anything other than display that same image of the usb cord and iTunes logo. I'm totally frustrated here. Help! I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, iTunes version 10.6.1.7. I know the cable is fine because it reads my iPhone 4S just fine. I tried restarting and relaunching iTunes and I've also tried holding the power button and home button down for 10 seconds and nothing on the phone's end.
So, the mobileme deadliner is approaching and I need to upgrade my 3GS to iOS 5 and my imac to LION. I've sorted out the iweb histing via another server (phew) and have tried to upgrade to iOS 5 via itunes (10.6.1) but the message I get is that my iphone software is 4.2.1 and is the current version.
Yesterday I decided to sync my iPhone to a different PC which my husband uses to sync his ipod. Before I sync-ed I upgraded itunes to v10. When I tried to sync however I noticed that the contacts section in the Info tab had nothing in the list (i.e. The title reads "Sync Contacts with " followed by a list but the list is empty) and when I click the Configure button nothing happens. Anyway I checked the option to sync contacts anyway but got an error saying "itunes was unable to load dataclass information from sync services."
Stupidly I then chose to restore my iphone as suggested in the Summary tab and thereby lost all of the contacts on my phone which I of course cannot sync back.
I am trying to upgrade my iPhone 4 to iOS 5. As my MacPro is still running Snow Leopard, I decided NOT to sync with iCloud but rather with iTunes. Every time I connect the iPhone, iTunes tells me the restore has been interrupted and offers to resume backup. When I do, it starts restoring, restarts the iPhone and then I get same message.... over and over again.
I upgraded to iTunes 10.6.1 and ios 5.1.1 on my iPhone 3gs and since then I have not been able to sync calendars with my outlook (2007) on my pc.I sync uing the USB cable and not via wi-fi. The sync appears to go through all steps in the process (5 of 5) but does not apply the changes to the iPhone (or to the PC if we try adding one to the iPhone). I have checked the correct default calendar on the iPhone is set as the pc calendar, and have even tried the advanced sync to overwrite all calendar data from PC to phone. But it stil has the original incorrect data on the phone. What else can I do?If I uninstall iTunes, will I lose all my music bought on the iPhone, or can I get this back again?
I sync IPhone 4 to my itunes for the 1st time to upgrade the IOS and now it wont show my music it says i have it but I can't find it also when I plug it into my tahoe's radio and I try to listen to the music it automatically stops and i have to unplug it and try to play what ever again it won't ring at times and I haven't even wet this phone or drop it.

Everything has been working fine up until about thirty minutes ago I downloaded five column springboard from cydia. Now my phone won't exit safe mode no matter what i do. And so i figured I would just delete it. But it wont let me delete it, or anything.
I purchased my first iPhone and I loved it. It was unlocked by default. Will I loose my "unlock function" if I update to 5.1.1? Currently I'm in 5.1 version. Some of my friend said that if I update to 5.1.1, I might get an "unlockable" baseband.
I'm using Iphone 5s with ios7.0.4. Is it safe to update my ios to 7.1.1. because I've a read a lot of forums including here in apple communities that some iphone was bricked after they downloaded and installed the update, some cases find their WIFI malfunctioning and other users experiencing their iphone batterly life drained faster.
I recently lost my iPhone. It was a first generation that I had managed to hold onto and keep working for years. I left it in the back of a cab and despite all my effort to relocate it, it appears it's gone for good.I had AT&T deactivate it 20 mins after I lost it. I also had the passcode feature active. AT&T has assured me that the combination of the two will pretty much render the phone a paper weight unless whoever found the phone restores it. I've never had to restore the phone, so one question I have is could whoever has my phone gain access to my data after restoring it? Like will iTunes back up the data for them and then allow them to download it again to the phone? Is my data safe? I work for a media organization and I had some very sensitive and valuable data on that phone. The kind of data I could lose my job over if a third party were to somehow access it. Not to mention the countless phone numbers and the huge log of text messages that contained sensitive personal information. Also, please spare me the ridicule of asking why I had so much important information on the phone.I've spent the last week beating myself up over it, and needless to say have learned my lesson. Trust me when I say I"ve punished myself enough over this. After an initial search, it appears there are illicit ways to hack the phone and get around the passcode, however my understanding of the subject is limited, and my question boils down to: can someone access the data on my phone?I"m merely looking for peace of mind here.
As the title says. Very good service from Apple. Turned out that my iPhone had a fair few problems when they checked it over. Is the data on it safe? Photos etc.
I recently uninstalled smoothboard from my iphone 4 via rock and now my iphone is stuck in a never ending cycle of safe mode. How I can get out of this safe mode?
