So how does it work when your upgrading every line on your account through Apple.com? All my lines are eligible for a $199 upgrade on the iPhone 4. Do you do one at a time or after you add your social/phone # does it let you add more before checkout?

I am currently with Verizon, but I want the new iPhone.I want to pre-order through Apple online and pick it up at the nearest apple store. Also if I order it like that, does the online Apple store run your credit then, or do they just sell you the iPhone for 199.00 and then you take it to At&t for them to run a check and set it up? I would imagine Apple store would run credit check right then but I'm not sure.
Last year I bought the 3gs at a walk in Apple store. I remember they said I had a problem with At&t I needed to fix first, so I went to At&t, fixed problem, went back to Apple store they sold me the 3gs but could not port my number. Somehow gave me a completely new number, said I had to go back to At&t store to fix it. Went there, At&t sent me back to Apple store and these stores were not even close to each other! Finally got it resolved though. Anyway, I hope I don't have a problem like that again.

I worry that if I make my order late in the day that I will be at the end of the list and may not get mine on day1. Is this possible to get mine after thousand of others have already pre-ordered and mine be pushed back a day or two so the early orders are filled first?
Just want to prepare and be online ready to place my order at whatever time of night it may possibly be. Obviously there is no way of knowing but this is the 4th iPhone so 3 others in the past may give us an idea on when to be ready.
Does anyone know if the 30 day return begins on pre-order, ship day, or delivery day?
View 5 Replies View RelatedAn Apple customer service representative just informed me that today, they were informed that there is a limit of only one iPhone for online order per account, no matter what the eligibility of your various AT&T lines are. I ordered each of my iP4's separately, although they're under the same family plan. He said, "It wasn't announced and we, or at least I, was just informed about this today, but you can only order 1 iPhone online. We've actually had a lot of people calling about order cancellations." I specifically asked him why this was the case if multiple numbers on a family plan are eligible for an upgrade, but he was unable to answer. He stated that we would have to purchase our second iPhone 4 in store and that everyone who ordered more than one iPhone will have all but one of their orders cancelled.I've ordered 2 iP4's. One has been shipped, and the other has, "Not yet Shipped." The rep looked up my order for the phone that hasn't been shipped yet and said that there is a hold on it because we're only allowed to order one iPhone 4 online. So, if what this rep said is true, how can so many people claim that both of their orders have been shipped? The common response I recall was that the card would be charged when the phone shipped. However, be aware that when I ordered this morning at Apple URL, my card was immediately charged. The story so far: I bought an accessory in Nov 2011 at an Apple Retail Store. (Philips dual-dock speaker) It started malfunctioning in Mar 2012. (Dock not charging anymore) I brought it to an Apple Store (closer to my place), they were happy to replace it on the spot, except that there was none in stock. So I was advised to go to an other Store (the original one), where they had stock. So far, so good for service. I went to the other store, but there I was told that they could not replace it because I had bought it more than 14 days before, so I had to contact the manufacturer directly! So my questions are:
- What is, if any, the actual policy on non-Apple product repair & replacement?
- Why don't all store follow the same policy?
- Should I just try my luck again with another person, until I strike gold and get it replaced?
