IPhone :: New Places Selling IP / Launch Lines Be Shorter
Jun 11, 2010
I skipped the 3gs but when I got the 3g the only places to get the iPhone was apple and at&t. Now you have apple, at&t best buy, radio shack and walmart.I think alot of people will still go to apple and at&t but having it available at these other retailers should still curb the lines a little bit.
Apple requires 8 characters, some numbers and some letters and at least one capital. On my iPhone or iPad this becomes a real pain when I want to get another app or update my apps. Is there any shortcut. Why does Apple need my password so often?
We've all been struggling to get through Apple and AT&T's servers since 4AM this morning. I've just been trying to get two 16GB iPhone 4's, preferably white, for me and my wife. With enough perseverance, I managed to wrangle one (1) pre-order for black 16GB iPhone 4 from AT&T's Premier site, and it luckily shows "processing." At the same time, I also managed to grab two (2) reservations for black 16GB iPhone 4's at Apple's site, one using their website, and one with the Apple Store app (which, by the way, was extremely fast).
The bottom line is I have an extra reservation (possible because of two Apple IDs, I guess?). I'm still aiming to preorder the second 16GB iPhone 4 at AT&T, if the site will let me.Come launch day, the lines will be long. The stores will be crazy. Someone is bound to walk away without an iPhone 4, and someone will want one bad enough to pay money for it. If you had an extra reservation, would you sell it?
I'm selling my 3g and have someone lined up to buy it next week. I know the new iphone uses the micro sim card so there's no need to pull mine. Do I just set it back to factory settings or what do I need to do before handing it over to the owner?
I'm selling my iPhone 3G 16GB today for $200 and moving to Verizon and the Droid. I'm going to miss my iPhone dearly but AT&T is bad in my area so I'm forced to switch. When they deactivate my iPhone, what do I have to do before selling it? Do I simply do a "restore as a new phone" with the current OS? I dont want the person that's getting my old phone to have my emails/contacts/credit card etc.Any help is greatly appreciated.
I'll be selling my new 3GS (hopefully for $400) and buying a iPhone 4. When I did this with the 3G to 3GS, I just swapped SIM cards in the iPhone at an AT&T store. With the iPhone 4 using a smaller SIM card, how is that going to work? Hopefully I'll sell my iPhone 3GS this week and then I'll be waiting for a couple of weeks for the iPhone 4.
Now that I have my iPhone 4 pre-ordered, I need to get rid of my 3G. It is currently not unlocked (to my knowledge), but it is jailbroken. What steps should I take before listing my phone for sale on eBay to ensure none of my data is on the phone, and to get maximum value out of it? Is there any easy way to reset it to factory settings? Is there an easy way to unlock it (I'm assuming this will add value)?
My wife and I are looking to switch to Sprint and she is interested in the Samsung Moment. I have read many reviews where the complaint is the short battery life. Most of the reviews are older and I'm wondering if the phones with the newer firmware and 2.1 installed have a better battery life.I appreciate anyone with a Moment running 2.1 provide feedback on the battery life.
So I have finally gotten my parts from sw-box and I was excited (matte black bezel + top cover + new keypad). The bezel is decent quality. It fits nice but...... it was fragile and I managed to break a tab for some reason? It is now stuck in my phones midplate which I will later remove by taking EVERYTHING out! I've taken out my stock silver bezel so many times the tabs have never broken so I know I wasn't doing anything wrong.
The only problem I didnt have was the battery cover it fits nice and snug, has a nice weight and the BMW etching on it is nice. The top cover... I have compared the stock cover and the sw-box cover and I noticed that the sw-box cover was shorter AND harder than the stock cover. This resulted in a gap on the top part of the phone and EXTREMELY hard force required to press the lock button and mute key.
The keyboard... well it definitely is NOT a oem! i even ordered the "OEM" or any modeled keyboard like on cnn.cn the buttons are bad, lighting is uneven I will be ordering from CNN.cn next to see how everything is there.. I have ordered many parts for my 9630 there and had no problems for anything what so ever
One thing I was really hoping would change with the update was an improvement in battery life. I know it is too soon to tell -- and I'm playing with the phone more, so that has an impact -- but, if anything, I think I'm getting shorter battery life than I was before. Anyone else have any observations regarding battery life?
The 3G issue has made the phone simply unbearable to use. I plan on keeping T-Mobile, actually happy with their service. My question is if I put Nexus One up for sale on ebay what will be my costs?150 to google *unsure how they would know the phone was sold*+?
Am I correct that each nexus one is essentially unlocked. Even though I bought it with a plan, if I get another unlocked phone and take it to a T-mobile store will I have to extend my contract? Better question is if I buy another phone under T-mobile will they extend my contract? I'm looking at the HTC HD 2 pending Microsofts conference on Monday.
I am selling my 8900. Tell me what steps should I take, like taking a backup, copying my contacts etc etc. Can someone pls guide me step by step. Pls also tell me how "wipe handheld" works. Does it ask for a password? what does it delete and what it does not?
A few hours ago I put my iPhone 3GS on ebay. I've been buying from ebay for years, but never sold anything. I have no idea what price. Right now I started the bidding at $200, but I think that might be to high to start if off like that. I did the bid for 3 days because I wanted to get the Lost Complete Series Blu-Ray Collection ASAP (hopefully on Tuesday) lol.
I can still edit my price, since no one has bided on it yet.
Here is what I'm offering, Apple iPhone 3GS Black (32GB) in Like NEW CONDITION, iOS 4.0.2 Software, perfect screen (absolutely no scratches anywhere on the iPhone 3GS). Includes original box, headphones and USB cable / wall charger. In Great condition, Belkin Grip Two-Toned Vector Case for smartphone - Black, white Silicone (slight wear to the case)
I was thinking in the area of $150-$225 for a 3 day long bid? Anyone have any suggestions? I see people buying it for over 400 dollars, so I don't want me missing out since I'm an ebay selling noob.
edit: Ok I did some research.... I'm just wondering on some feedback for a first time seller... How does this ad look.... I have zero bids so far, so I'm trying lol. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...#ht_500wt_1154
I am trying to replace the screen for my 8520 but am a bit confused because the version number reads as 004/111/112 and I cant find anyone selling this version number anywhere. A lot of people are selling 004/005 so I was wondering if that version is compatible or not. If anyone has had the same problem or knows of a solution I would greatly appreciate any help.
I use Aperture and tag all my Faces from there. I also use several cameras which geotag my photos, so Places is working in Aperture, too. However, on my Phone (iOS 7), neither Places nor Faces are appearing. I understand they are supposed to be displayed in the Albums view, but they're not there?
Siri can't look for places in my country. that makes me sick because sometimes i need to look up for places and movies, restaurants... so is there anything to make Siri look for the places in Georgia? anything, that can fix it? or update?
i dropped my iphone on the ground and now the screen is going funny. by that i mean it doesn't always click on the things i want and it doesn't let me unlock my phone, what should i do?
When I use the google maps app that is pre-set to the iPhone all it does is send me to places that have the name of what I'm looking for on the map but when I reach the place where is supposed to be it's not there. I want to know if it is my iPhone that is broken or if the app is the problem because if it is my phone, it's unacceptable.
There is a cell tower very close to my home, the signal strength is very good, yet it stopped ringing about three months ago. Some times when I an driving it rings even the signal is poor. Using iTunes the phone was backed up and restored to factory settings and then back my settings. All these have not worked.
My iPhone has fallen out of my pocket a million times and always been fine, no cracks just a few scraches on the back. This morning, it fell out and I assumed the usual had happened. However, I went to type on the open message and the screen wasn't responding on parts of the keyboard. So, I thought maybe it was just a small issue; I turned my phone off then back on. When it turned back on I couldn't even unlock it because the screen wasn't responding and the first number of my passcode was in an unresponsive spot. An elder friend of mine told me all I needed was to replace the screen and that he could do it, if I bought the screen. My question is, would it be cheaper to buy the screen and have my friend do it, or would Apple give me a better deal?
I thought that I would have to pay extra to upgrade my 3gs to a 4, but when I checked apple's site, it said I could get it for the regular $199. I thought only people within 6 months of their upgrade date get the regular price.
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. I am (Netherlands). It's going to be a lonngggg month. 3GS will be gone by next week and than I still have to wait for 3 or 4 weeks. Pff. Luckily for me holiday is coming really soon so I can do whatever I want... without an iPhone 3Gspeed.
Im going to the US this summer for a long excursion, i intend to take a large amount of photos on my iphone, i just wondered if i 'places' still worked when 1.data roaming is turned off and 2. if airplane mode was on for obvious reasons i dont want to come back after 3 months and find that i have a phone bill of over a thousand pounds because i left data roaming on.
Due to some AT&T glitch I was one of the few that couldn't pre-order until about 5 hours ago. Now the iPhone is only shipping by July 14th. If I go ahead and order one on Apple's website for my line will I still be able to wait in line on launch day and buy a phone for that same line (with my upgrade) or will I then be forced to pay the $599/$699 price point (due to me having already ordered one on Apple's site)?
Right now I'm eligible for the $199/$299 price point.
Appreciate you taking the time to read this and thank you for any help you can provide.
Apple and ATT have really messed up this release with the iPhone 4. First no statement about the iPhone 4 and now there canceling peoples contracts giving stupid excuses. How didnt the have time to ramp up the production. If im right wasnt gizmodos prototype which was basically a finished product come out about 3 months ago? Why not have enough for launch day? Wow apple can atleast explain about the white iPhone.
