Apple and ATT have really messed up this release with the iPhone 4. First no statement about the iPhone 4 and now there canceling peoples contracts giving stupid excuses. How didnt the have time to ramp up the production. If im right wasnt gizmodos prototype which was basically a finished product come out about 3 months ago? Why not have enough for launch day? Wow apple can atleast explain about the white iPhone.

I received my iPhone 4 in the mail a day early and my friend didn't want to go wait for his alone, so I decide to go along and document the entire event with my new iPhone's HD camera. (Some of those in line were noticeably annoyed at my use of the new phone while they waited, but I tried to conceal it as much as possible). We got to the Santa Barbara State Street Apple Store around 5:30am and were about 25th in the reservation line. I had a ton of fun, and am so glad I went, Apple really knows how to release a product, maybe next time I'll just reserve it rather than get it shipped. EDIT: So I learned some tricks while editing that I thought I should share those for others playing around with iMovie
I typically work within Final Cut Pro when editing video, so going into iMovie I was met with several limitations, but I figured out a few workarounds for most of the issues I faced: Titles remain over an entire clip, so if you want titles just to appear at the beginning of a clip, (Like seen at the very beginning of my video) you must trim the end of a clip to the length you wish. Then import that same clip again, and trim the beginning to the length of your first clip. Make sure you remove the crossfade as well......
I really love the Motion Launch gestures except the volume button that wakes the phone and launches the camera app.
Launching the camera app by mistake is annoying and it happens from time to time.
I tried Settings > Display & gestures > Motion Launch gestures but it looks like I'll have to disabled the whole thing.
After noticing that my normal cables aren't working right, (I usually use a dock) I've been trying to figure out why.Finally found the cause. The dock is faulty. Pic's are at the bottom. The right side of it is pushing up more as you can see in the pics. It's firmly in that position, doesn't wiggle or anything and the phone still charges and music can be played using the dock.But the normal cables are all acting really dodgy now. If u push them in they'll connect for a second while your pushing and then disconnect when you let go... This has been getting worse and worse and obviously the dock has slowly been damaging the connector inside the phone.

Calendar is working 100% fine on Day and Month view - appointments are in the right place, right day, right time, synced from Mobile Me, and a calendar I subscribe to is also fine.
When I touch "List" view, and "Today", it thinks Today is Sun 7 Feb 2010. All my appointments are on the wrong day - "Today" 7 Feb I have an appointment that was last Saturday, 9 Jan. The same appointment appears "Yesterday", 6 Feb in the subscribed calendar - but only in List view
Have tried a hard reset and have tried unsubscribing the cal from MobileMe and resubscribing - any other ideas before I go for a Restore?
So this just recently started happening. When I slide the switch down (thus putting the phone on vibrate) it'll freak out and go back and forth between loud and vibrate. Touching the screen or the phone causes it to switch back and forth as well (i'll vibrate to signal). The other day the physical switch showed it was on vibrate but it was audible and playing sounds. The switch isn't actually broken off, and I don't think it's a software problem. Has anyone else had this issue? Phone hasn't been dropped and doesn't have any water damage

Before I updated it worked and now it doesn't! Why? It just shows the camera icon but when I press it, it doesn't take me to the camera.

iphone 3gs 3.1.2 here's my issue. i downloaded unlimvideo app from cydia. worked fine, streamed movies, etc. well, they updated, and the movies wouldn't stream anymore. so.... they said a temporary fix would be to download safari download toggle, and i did. well, it won't play movies, it won't play Internet videos (only sound), and it won't even play videos i have recorded with my phone (only sound). i removed safari download toggle, and it's still the same thing. when it does pull up my media player, it looks all out of whack. gonna attach a pic of what it looks like when trying to load a Internet video. i thought i would just restore my phone, but apple has come out with a new firmware that i don't want to update to, and itunes apparently absolutely insist that when you restore, you have to update.

So like I usually do when I have problems with my phone, I turned it off and back on. Then when it came back on and I was asked for my password, (which contains p's) my password kept sending as soon as I hit the p and it came back as incorrect because I was unable to finish typing it. I am now locked out of my phone and don't know how to fix it.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi dont know whats going on, but first of all my device wouldnt let me click unlock as i have a password on it, then when i was finalyl able to it wotn let me type my password in properly, i will type 3 characters an wont press enter and it will automatically come up sayin incorrect password, it has let me on it a few times but then once on it the trackpad stops working an the phoen freezes, or if it lets me click on anything such as messages for expample it automatically brings the search up and wont let me do anything else. ive tried numerous amounts of battery pulls and restarting it but it hasnt worked. also when i put it on charge the beside mode just flashes asking me if i want to set alarm constantly. i dont know what to do but need my phone urgently, i literally cant do anything with it, is there any way of resetting it completely without using hte device, like through the internet or something?

Now, the screen is making this grey screen (pictures below) and freezes. Sliding out the gamepad and sliding it in seems to unfreeze it for a few seconds sometimes. Though, mostly, there's this. Is there any way I can maybe completely wipe my phone and reinstall Android? I have already flashed it a few times. I went to options and chose memory and it said "Media card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is properly inserted, formatted and not corrupted." View 10 Replies View RelatedDue to some AT&T glitch I was one of the few that couldn't pre-order until about 5 hours ago. Now the iPhone is only shipping by July 14th. If I go ahead and order one on Apple's website for my line will I still be able to wait in line on launch day and buy a phone for that same line (with my upgrade) or will I then be forced to pay the $599/$699 price point (due to me having already ordered one on Apple's site)?
Right now I'm eligible for the $199/$299 price point.

3G has stopped working on my launch day iPhone 4. Edge works sometimes. The sim card works fine in my 3GS. Anyone heard of this problem before? Done a full restore with no joy(and another problem, iTunes wiped my iPhone 4 back up when I just choose to call my restore iPhone 'iPhone' to test it out - is my back up lost forever? I'm assuming if I take it back to the Apple store at the weekend, if they have stock, they'll have to give me a brand new replacement? It's just over a week old, so I'd want one in a sealed box!

Prior to the old handset being sent away, i backe up my contacts to the SD card, which i thought was all well and fine,Hah!So, after downloading the contacts into the phonebook, i was surprised to see that the numbers had been partially replaced with hyphens, making it a no go to recover the actual digitsI ended up getting something like, 013-25-5489 which in this example, has two digits missing.How are we supposed to work out what we are missing.I have emailed SE CC UK about my situation, so we will see what excuses they come back with and if i do not like them, then i shall take this issue to out Trading Standards as the back up facility does not do what it says on the tin.

1) I lose reception and do not re-acquire a signal until I reboot or turn on/off airplane mode.
2) Calls to me go straight to voicemail even when I have reception.
3) SMS message take up to hours to get to me
So, I've done the usual thing and read all over the internet and I see several people with same/similar issues.
I seem to have 'resolved' the issue with a workaround: I change the network mode from "GSM/WCDMA auto" to "WCDMA only" or "GSM only". Of course this is NOT acceptable - in 3G mode I have bad coverage and in 2G mode I have bad data speed - that's why the auto mode is there!
Of course, when I contact support they give all sorts of (already tried) testing measures culminating in a hard reset, which I *really* do *not* want to do, and then the ultimate threat of 'sending it for repair' which I also don't want to do since it probably isn't broken and just needs a software patch and I don't want to spend ages without it and go around in circles with refurbished/new phones.
Can anyone out there reassure me that they know what the issue is and what I really need to do, not just guess at it and offer unpleasant testing measures?
