IPhone :: New Update Messed Up Camera Shortcut?
Mar 12, 2012After downloading the new software update, when my phone is locked and I press the home button twice for the shortcut to the camera it doesn't do anything after I press the camera icon! Before I updated it worked and now it doesn't! Why? It just shows the camera icon but when I press it, it doesn't take me to the camera.

Apr 19, 2012So yesterday I upgraded my SGS2 from Android 2.3 to the the Ice cream sandwich via kies. All went well except that now I can't see my contact pictures in third party applications. My contacts are all linked to Facebook so their pictures are all set to their Facebook profile pictures. Before the update, applications such as whatsapp and Handcent SMS automatically sync this information and the contact name and picture will be displayed. Now only the stock applications can display contact name and picture not any downloaded application.

Dec 15, 2011Right now my Xperia Play screen is messed up screen. It started today when sliding the gamepad would freeze the system. Now, the screen is making this grey screen (pictures below) and freezes. Sliding out the gamepad and sliding it in seems to unfreeze it for a few seconds sometimes. Though, mostly, there's this. Is there any way I can maybe completely wipe my phone and reinstall Android? I have already flashed it a few times. Or is this a hardware issue and will I have to go to AT&T to see if I'm able to get a new phone?

Nov 10, 2010Prior to the old handset being sent away, i backe up my contacts to the SD card, which i thought was all well and fine,Hah!So, after downloading the contacts into the phonebook, i was surprised to see that the numbers had been partially replaced with hyphens, making it a no go to recover the actual digitsI ended up getting something like, 013-25-5489 which in this example, has two digits missing.How are we supposed to work out what we are missing.I have emailed SE CC UK about my situation, so we will see what excuses they come back with and if i do not like them, then i shall take this issue to out Trading Standards as the back up facility does not do what it says on the tin.

Th problem is that the slide out keyboard mapping is probably wrong or some setting needs to be done.When I press a key with "?" on the slideout keyboard I get a ":" on the screen. Jun 30, 2012I have a blackberry curve 8530 and while I was texting today my phone kept sending the message before I pressed the send button, after a while I figured out it happened anytime i pressed on the p key. So like I usually do when I have problems with my phone, I turned it off and back on. Then when it came back on and I was asked for my password, (which contains p's) my password kept sending as soon as I hit the p and it came back as incorrect because I was unable to finish typing it. I am now locked out of my phone and don't know how to fix it.

May 5, 2012After noticing that my normal cables aren't working right, (I usually use a dock) I've been trying to figure out why.Finally found the cause. The dock is faulty. Pic's are at the bottom. The right side of it is pushing up more as you can see in the pics. It's firmly in that position, doesn't wiggle or anything and the phone still charges and music can be played using the dock.But the normal cables are all acting really dodgy now. If u push them in they'll connect for a second while your pushing and then disconnect when you let go... This has been getting worse and worse and obviously the dock has slowly been damaging the connector inside the phone.

Jan 22, 2012i dont know whats going on, but first of all my device wouldnt let me click unlock as i have a password on it, then when i was finalyl able to it wotn let me type my password in properly, i will type 3 characters an wont press enter and it will automatically come up sayin incorrect password, it has let me on it a few times but then once on it the trackpad stops working an the phoen freezes, or if it lets me click on anything such as messages for expample it automatically brings the search up and wont let me do anything else. ive tried numerous amounts of battery pulls and restarting it but it hasnt worked. also when i put it on charge the beside mode just flashes asking me if i want to set alarm constantly. i dont know what to do but need my phone urgently, i literally cant do anything with it, is there any way of resetting it completely without using hte device, like through the internet or something?

Jan 11, 2010Calendar is working 100% fine on Day and Month view - appointments are in the right place, right day, right time, synced from Mobile Me, and a calendar I subscribe to is also fine.
When I touch "List" view, and "Today", it thinks Today is Sun 7 Feb 2010. All my appointments are on the wrong day - "Today" 7 Feb I have an appointment that was last Saturday, 9 Jan. The same appointment appears "Yesterday", 6 Feb in the subscribed calendar - but only in List view
Have tried a hard reset and have tried unsubscribing the cal from MobileMe and resubscribing - any other ideas before I go for a Restore?
IPhone :: Messed Up Silent Toggle Switch?
Mar 14, 2010So this just recently started happening. When I slide the switch down (thus putting the phone on vibrate) it'll freak out and go back and forth between loud and vibrate. Touching the screen or the phone causes it to switch back and forth as well (i'll vibrate to signal). The other day the physical switch showed it was on vibrate but it was audible and playing sounds. The switch isn't actually broken off, and I don't think it's a software problem. Has anyone else had this issue? Phone hasn't been dropped and doesn't have any water damage

Aug 20, 2012So I've had my blackberry curve 8520 and my SD memory card for almost 2 years, but earlier I tried to play some music from my memory card but it wouldn't play, so I took my battery out to reset my phone and when I put it back in and my phone came back on it said my memory card needed formatting but I didn't want to lose all my stuff so I chose not to format it, but everything was deleted anyway. I went to options and chose memory and it said "Media card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is properly inserted, formatted and not corrupted." So I tried to format it and it said it was successful but after it said that it kept asking me over and over again to format it, so I tried the repair option but it said "repair failed".

Aug 31, 2011Since the last android update I have 3 problems, possibly connected: -
1) I lose reception and do not re-acquire a signal until I reboot or turn on/off airplane mode.
2) Calls to me go straight to voicemail even when I have reception.
3) SMS message take up to hours to get to me
So, I've done the usual thing and read all over the internet and I see several people with same/similar issues.
I seem to have 'resolved' the issue with a workaround: I change the network mode from "GSM/WCDMA auto" to "WCDMA only" or "GSM only". Of course this is NOT acceptable - in 3G mode I have bad coverage and in 2G mode I have bad data speed - that's why the auto mode is there!
Of course, when I contact support they give all sorts of (already tried) testing measures culminating in a hard reset, which I *really* do *not* want to do, and then the ultimate threat of 'sending it for repair' which I also don't want to do since it probably isn't broken and just needs a software patch and I don't want to spend ages without it and go around in circles with refurbished/new phones.
Can anyone out there reassure me that they know what the issue is and what I really need to do, not just guess at it and offer unpleasant testing measures?

Now, I cannot use my phone at all because I cannot set up my phone's Motoblur. I even tried registering a new Motoblur account, but I still get the same error message: "An error has occurred. Please try again." My phone is basically unusable now. What can I do?

Nov 20, 2011All my contacts with direct connect #'s are converted to phone #'s. I exported my contacts to a vcf file and imported with the Admiral. Some #'s appear as "notes" with the # properly displayed with asterisks as separators. It's about time the people writing the software are forced to use it, not just release it and wait. Manually editing the #'s is not an option, so I'm supposed to go to a Sprint store and wait on line? C'mon. Apr 23, 2010I've messed up my n900. I installed OpenJazz from extras-devel (stupidly ignoring warnings about using extras-devel as a noob) and it appears to have killed the phone.
Now all my desktop widgets have vanished (when I add one, it disappears from the list of available widgets, but isn't visible on the screen), and I can't run any applications (apart from built in things like Calendar and Settings).
I guess I've messed up a system file somewhere and I need to reflash the device, but before I do that I wanted to see if anyone's had this before, and if it's solvable without reflashing? It'd also be interesting to know if anyone can identify exactly what the problem is...
IPhone :: Cydia Safari Download Toggle Messed Up Phone
Feb 3, 2010iphone 3gs 3.1.2 here's my issue. i downloaded unlimvideo app from cydia. worked fine, streamed movies, etc. well, they updated, and the movies wouldn't stream anymore. so.... they said a temporary fix would be to download safari download toggle, and i did. well, it won't play movies, it won't play Internet videos (only sound), and it won't even play videos i have recorded with my phone (only sound). i removed safari download toggle, and it's still the same thing. when it does pull up my media player, it looks all out of whack. gonna attach a pic of what it looks like when trying to load a Internet video. i thought i would just restore my phone, but apple has come out with a new firmware that i don't want to update to, and itunes apparently absolutely insist that when you restore, you have to update.

Jul 12, 2015Yessterday my Nexus 5 battery drained out and instead of shutting down, it tried to restart and got stuck in the startup sequence with the dots floating on the screen. I went into bootloader mode and then into recovery mode where I saw the cache errors.
E: failed to mount /cache (invalid argument)
I started to read a bit more on fixing the issue and the first solution was to flash it with the stock cache.img. However, when I unlock the OEM using fastboot oem unlock and reboot the boot-loader, it is going back to the locked state. I'm not sure if I'm going wrong somewhere but I haven't been able to flash my phone yet with the stock rom.

May 17, 2010I had everything working fine on 5.0.592 for a week or more. I tried to restore some contacts from a prev backup and now all the sudden my email functionality is messed up. I have it linked to my GMAIL acct. Things I noticed since that contact backup is now when i go to delete a message, it will not prompt to delete from device only or device and inbox Also I can hit reply on some, but when I go to send, there is no send option. And lastly when I delete from my phone, it does not mark as read or delete from my inbox. i checked all the settings I can find. But nothing changed.

Jun 29, 2010I have a BlackBerry Tour 9630, virtually brand new. I recieved my current phone barely two weeks ago from an insurance claim as my previous phone was stolen.
I was just headed to bed, I checked my phone a final time and had no issued. I always charge my phone on my nightstand next to my bed while I sleep. The instant I plugged the USB end of the power chord into the phone the screen went haywire. The screen is now saturated with a random pattern of colored lines. I cannot see or do anything. I tried battery out restarts and it did nothing. My phone has never been wet, never fallen or had any impacts, and is always in a silicone case. Again, this phone is basically brand new and the problem started the instant I began charging it tonight!What the heck happened and how the heck do I fix it!?

Jun 25, 2012Finally the ICS update has become available for my phone (SI 1253-7151) -PC Companion pops up a message about the new update. If I click "Update", PC Companion starts downloading the update, finishes the download and says "Preparing computer for program updates".
Then it proceeds to "Unable to install or start components for update of phone system" and my phone does not get updated.Then I have tried Sony Update Service, but now I can't even start it properly; the program crashes right after opening it. It just says "Synchronizing" and then "An unexpected error has occured. The application will shut down." so I never get any possibility to see why.Again, my phone does not get updated. Since both programs crash there must be a serious problem with the downloaded files (and they're probably shared between the programs?).Apparently I'm not the only one experiencing it; I can see in a Norwegian forum that other people have the same problem - and in the original thread that you have hidden (!).
PS. The original thread was not mine; I just replied to it since I had the exact same problem. Regarding the new "moderation strategy" I believe that the above question is not rude, it's not spam - and reposting the question is necessary when the issue has not been resolved and the original thread has disappeared..
