Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. I am (Netherlands). It's going to be a lonngggg month. 3GS will be gone by next week and than I still have to wait for 3 or 4 weeks. Pff. Luckily for me holiday is coming really soon so I can do whatever I want... without an iPhone 3Gspeed.
I live in Denmark, and apple is going to release iphone 4 in july. But now when iphone 4 was sold out last week, and now apple is even delaying the ship date to 14 july. these delays can effect europe
My wife and I each have an unlocked, no-contract iPhone 4s. Next month we'll be traveling for a couple weeks in Croatia (mostly) and a few days in Slovenia. We're planning to bring our phones with us. We'll be making just a few calls (probably to each other, when we get separated), and using some data - we'll try to take advantage of wfi when its available in our hotels, but I expect we'll use some data when no wifi is available. Doesn't have to be terribly fast (no streaming video), we'll make do with whatever connection speeds are available. I assume we can remove the micro-sim cards from the phones at home, before we leave (leaving them safely at home), then upon arrival at our destination purchase micro-sim cards for both phones, insert them and...I guess activate them on the local network.
Will the phones work during our flight over, without any sim card - (obviously not for calls or data, but for listening to music, watching preloaded movies or playing games)? I've never done this before, but I assume that all content on the phones (music, movies, apps & associated data) will be preserved - correct? Are there any gotchas I should watch out for around iTunes accounts, Apple IDs, setup, etc.? (my wife is not very good about remembering her itunes password...even at home). Basically, do I just pay for the local micro sim card and voice/data plan upon arrival, pop it in the phone, start it up, and start using it? Or do I need to go through any kind of initialization/reset process? My goal is to just change the phone carrier/phone number, but leave everything else on the phone intact and functional - so it's easily switched back once we get home.
I'll make sure that we've updated our phones and synced them via iTunes before we leave home, but I'm assuming we will not have access to any computer (at least none that I'd want to plug my phone into) while we're traveling. Once we get back home a few weeks later, I'm expecting things to return to normal when we pop our "domestic" sim cards back in - I'll assume we can start using the phones on our existing domestic carrier (with our original phone numbers) without having to jump through any extra hoops - correct? (BTW, no, I don't want to just pay our domestic carrier for a travel voice/data package - not an option for us, thanks; one of the reasons we bought unlocked, no-contract phones was to be able to use them internationally with local sim cards.)
I know this is probably vague since the new iPhone hasn't been released yet, but I would like to buy the iPhone 4 at its release, from AT&T without the contract ($599/$699), because I move to Germany a few weeks later. As far as I know it is still locked to AT&T then. Could you use it with a German sim card. How do I activate or can I avoid an activation and how can I use it in Germany? Do I need to wait for an unlock? I don't want to buy it in Germany because it is far more expensive and I don't want to use it with the standard-iPhone carrier.
I recently updated my iPhone 3g and am irritated with how slow it's running as I've heard a lot of people are. I've read about downgrading to the old OS but I'm beginning to consider jailbreaking it. I only have a few questions and i was hoping someone would know:
1) I'm planning on spending 6 months in SE Asia toward the end of this year. I'd like my phone to work there if possible. I'll completely admit that I've not researched this topic enough but my general question is, can I jailbreak my phone and then enable it for use in SE Asia, if so how? 2) Would jailbreaking the phone make it more difficult in some way to enable it for use there?
Unintelligible questions I know and I apologize but I have no idea with where to start for all of it.
how is Apple going to expand sales into 17 more countries at the end of this week, but I've ordered my iPhone over a week ago and it still has a ship date of August? Yet, they can sell more phones in other countries...are they just mass producing all these phones the past few weeks and saving them up for the new launch in these other countries and holding out in the U.S.?? Makes me a little upset, I am not an Apple fan and never have been. I have been using Android for quite some time now and never had any issues but I finally decided to make the switch to try something new and yet it gets worse and worse before I can even get my hands on the actual phone!
My friend lives in a different country and she has an iPhone. I have an ipod touch and wanted to contact her with iMessage. Will it charge for her since she's using an iphone? Or will it not?
I spend 1/2 my time in US and 1/2 in Malaysia. I would like to buy an iphone 4S and use the phone with a local carrier in US and Maxis in Malaysia. Can this be done if I buy a factory unlocked phone?
My cousin just bought an iPhone 4 recently locked to AT&T and is currently living in the Philippines. He told me that if I would ask Apple, I will be able to get the pin to unlock my phone. I will be going to the Philippines as well and I need to get my phone unlocked. He contacted Apple and got the pin and got his iPhone 4 unlocked in minutes. My question is how would I get it?
I'm traveling to Cuba with a group of friends and family. A number of us have blackberries, none of us have full data plans but rather social networking plans (e.g.. BBM, fb, twitter). I'm wondering if we can talk to each other while all being in Cuba without extra costs. Also keeping in mind about the ability to turn off roaming.
Why Sony is releasing the update by countries? Why Sony do not just release the update globally? Is there some problem like a overloading the servers with updates? I understand that sony is releasing the updade for only few phones at the same time, but the releasing over the countries is not understandable.
provide the list of countries where Android Market comes preloaded on the phone, please the latest list.If a country is not listed in the list, is there any other way to have applications installed
I thought that I would have to pay extra to upgrade my 3gs to a 4, but when I checked apple's site, it said I could get it for the regular $199. I thought only people within 6 months of their upgrade date get the regular price.
Due to some AT&T glitch I was one of the few that couldn't pre-order until about 5 hours ago. Now the iPhone is only shipping by July 14th. If I go ahead and order one on Apple's website for my line will I still be able to wait in line on launch day and buy a phone for that same line (with my upgrade) or will I then be forced to pay the $599/$699 price point (due to me having already ordered one on Apple's site)?
Right now I'm eligible for the $199/$299 price point.
Appreciate you taking the time to read this and thank you for any help you can provide.
Apple and ATT have really messed up this release with the iPhone 4. First no statement about the iPhone 4 and now there canceling peoples contracts giving stupid excuses. How didnt the have time to ramp up the production. If im right wasnt gizmodos prototype which was basically a finished product come out about 3 months ago? Why not have enough for launch day? Wow apple can atleast explain about the white iPhone.
3G has stopped working on my launch day iPhone 4. Edge works sometimes. The sim card works fine in my 3GS. Anyone heard of this problem before? Done a full restore with no joy(and another problem, iTunes wiped my iPhone 4 back up when I just choose to call my restore iPhone 'iPhone' to test it out - is my back up lost forever? I'm assuming if I take it back to the Apple store at the weekend, if they have stock, they'll have to give me a brand new replacement? It's just over a week old, so I'd want one in a sealed box!
Is it possible to have a couple apps that can be launched from the Lockscreen?I added a couple apps to the sbsettings "dock" but that doesn't seem to launch those apps while on the springboard. Is there a Cydia/Rock app that enables something like this? I don't really want InfoLock or IntelliScreen...
I just searched "netflix" on the App Store on my iPhone 4, and netflix, inc. is showing up, but when I clicked it, it said "no matches" do you think that the netflix app is about to be approved by the App Store team? I do have a U.S. iPhone, but I am currently studying in the UK so that is why vodafone shows up. So my App Store that shows up is the U.S. app store.
A few days ago I updated my iPhone 3GS (Chinese mainboard) from iOS 5.0.1 to 5.1. But since then my messages app won't launch, no matter wether I access it from homescreen, multitasking or notification center. It only works sometimes when I go to contacts and send message. But even then it is slow and feels veeeery buggy. I tried to completely reset it, but nothing helped me.
doesn't seem like too many people actually care about AT&T not selling any walk in iPhone4s on the 24th.I work in a att retail store and thought the reaction to the news yesterday would be mind blowing for some people...
Some 3rd party apps are crashing after 1-3 seconds when i launch them. I have tried different versions and they should have iOS4 supported. It happens to specific apps no matter what version i have on them (Camera+, Bejeweled, Fruit Ninja).
Since I upgraded to 5.1 my camera will not launch from the home page. I can see the camera icon but when I touch it the screen jumps a little but the camera wont launch. I know of 2 other users iphone 4 and 4s with the same problem.
