For what it's worth, there are iPhone's without the dreaded antenna issue. I just exchanged mine at my local apple store and the new one is perfect. No matter what I do I can't get the signal to drop, even holding it tightly with two hands. The first one I had drop constantly. All I had to do was put one finger over the left side antenna and within seconds it would drop to searching.
I was under the impression that the 30 day money back guarantee was from the moment Jobs announced it during the antenna conference. If they will not refund it, at least exchange it to see if the other one works better since there are some who claim theirs work perfect. In your experience with Apple costumer service, would they understand what I'm saying and offer me another one?
Has anyone else noticed this?Apple seems to have exchanged all pictures showing FaceTime with new ones that are blurry and pixelated. The first pic is from http://apple.com and the second one is the equivalent from http://apple.com/de where this change hasn't happened yet:The pictures have also been changed on the sub pages and basically everywhere FaceTime is shown.
I live in a poor reception area on the Rogers network. I've noticed that when I go into the basement the phone drops a signal pretty quickly. I am okay with this and is expected. My issue is when I get back on to the main floor, the phone does not pick up a signal again for a long time. Sometimes even toggling airplane mode doesn't work. My wife's iPhone does the same thing.
Recently, I began to have this problem where the phone is showing full signal but the phone is actually not receiving any signal. So calls will not come in at all.
What do these Icons represent or mean, and the meaning when they change Colors from White to Blue (Status Icons). There was a GB 2.3.4 User Manual Posted on Moto's site, Unfortunately no information was included about these Items. What does it mean when all three are blue, Including the H+ icon having arrows beneath it at the same time? Is it also Possible to have the Intro Video Posted or embedded to this thread as well please.
Anyone else experience this? I did th sotware upgrade and a few hours later this happened. I tried manually connecting to the network and it wont. T-mobile asked me to send the phone back but there is a major scratch on the screen so they told me my return warranty was void now.So far I have a $400 paper weight. Anyone fix this issue?
I've had this twice now where I couldn't get a GPS signal. This never happened on my Droid 1, but has happened twice in less than 30 days (two different phones - since I replaced the first one when this happened). This has been in 2 completely different locations.
I was wondering if anyone knows what algorithm is used for the signal bars on the Photon 4G. I have found that there seems to be no correlation between the signal strength (in dBm / asu) in Settings -> About phone -> Status and the signal bars that are shown. Often the signal bars will shoot from 1 to 5 or 6 even with really low signal ( ~97 to > 100 dBm) that doesn't fluctuate.
I dropped my Iphone 3Gs yesterday and since then cannot connect to my network or when its connect the signal is very poor. Most of the time is searching and No Service.
I have had a No Service messgae on my iPhone for the past 4 days now.
Unable to use as a phone! Have reset Network settings, turned off and on again, taken SIM out and put back in, turned Airplane Mode on and off, basically everything!
I have TomTom UK running on my iPhone 4 which itself is running iOS 5.1.1.I have been having problems with the TomTom App keeping its signal locked in all weather conditons and even thinking I am on tottally different roads even when it was has a signal to start with.I then get the Poor GPS signal and can pretty much drive to work in 45 mins somedays without any signal lock and navigation.I know my route but use its HD traffic service to miss delays etc.I've deleted the software from the iPhone and redownloaded it and this hasn't solved the problem at all.
I updated my iphone4 to iOS 7.1.2 and after that, my phone started to lost the signal... from 4 bars to 3, 2 and nothing... I alredy tried to turn it on and off, i also tried to remove the sim card. and lastly, i tried to restore it to factory setting but it says that "there was an error".
Does anyone who has an iPhone 4 under an O2 contract experience a range of 1-3 bars for the signal on a consistent basis? I just got my iPhone and have been left pretty disappointed - I know having a strong/bad signal doesn't directly affect the quality of a call under 3G, but when accessing the internet via the network, a low number of bars being displayed is having a detrimental effect on the bandwidth cap, hence limiting my access to faster data speeds.
Could the last update on the signal bar display be the source of all this? I fear that this more 'accurate' determination is actually working against me. O2 is supposed to have the best coverage in my area for 3G, but even when I went to London, I seldom got a full 5 bar signal. I've spoken to a representative and they said it's very normal for fluctuations to happen, but I severely doubt this.
I've spent the past week poring over posts on here and on different sites, trying to educate myself as best I can so i can fix this issue. After hours and hours of banging my head against the wall, I can't figure anything out. My story goes:
- 2009 iPhone 3G updated to latest firmware/bootloader/baseband (3.1.3, 5.11.07, 5.09) -Tried to jailbreak with pwnage tool 3.15 and accidentally checked "Activate iPhone" -When restoring the custom pwnage firmware from iTunes, got a 16xx error -Unplugged and tried to restore to original ipsw which i had backed up before -This process looked like it went normal, but when it was finished the iPhone restarted into emergency call mode and iTunes gave the error The SIM card insterted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported (even though it is a functional ATT SIM tested and working in other ATT phones) -I tried doing pwnage fresh without the activate iphone checked and it went through all the steps, this time without the error, but when it reset, it was still in emergency call mode.
Since then i tried numerous things to get it back to working status including, calling ATT, Apple, getting a new SIM, various Jailbreaks (Blackra1n, Spirit, redsn0w, pwnage), unlocks. Nothing worked -------> EXCEPT: When I run redsn0w, it goes through the JB, restarts and functions 100% normally, but THERE IS NO SIGNAL. I tried installing ultrasn0w through cydia, and all that does is change the signal from no bars "_ _ _ _ _" to "Searching".
So basically what I'm left with at this point is an oversized iPod touch. An iPhone that doesn't get signal. UGH.
Well I have found a way to easily switch your signal bars on your status bar from regular bars to db's and back whenever you want. Well I'm on the latest beta of 4.1 (8b5097d) on IPhone 4 and it does have feild test (maby it's just because I restored from my 3GS but idk). So go to your phone app and then to the keypad. Then type *3001#12345#* and press call, this will put u in field test app. At the top I can tap the bars and it will switch to db's and if tapped again it will go back. So once u tap to change to db's hold the sleep button till slide to power pops up then let go of the sleep button and hold the home button (this is a respiring). Once u do that u can just easily tap the bars or db's and switch where ever you are in your phone. Good luck hope it works on all your phones. And ps you don't need to be jailbroken!
I have just started experiencing problems with the signal quality of my iPhone 4s.When the 3G is turned on I have no signal at all (NONE!!). However, when I turn the 3G off I have a cellular network capable of sending/recieving call & texts but pretty much useless for everything else. No amount of hard resets/network resets or airplane mode switching resolves the issue.p.s I have just recently upgraded the OS to 5.1.
I am going to need an alarm clock, but the place I am going to be will most likely have no cell signal. will the alarm clock still work if I put it in airplane mode? I will be charging it at night so it won't run out of battery and turning it off during the day
I have an iPhone 4 on O2, which was unlocked via iTunes unlock. It worked fine until the 5.1 software update now it's doesn't get signal at all. It gets 3G but no bars.
My iPhone 4 keeps dropping signal every few seconds, then regaining it, then losing it again. I have to restore my phone to its factory setting which seems to work, but this is the second time is happened in as many months.
I have unlocked not jailbroken IPhone 4. It is currently running IOs 5.1 on baseband 04.12.01. Two days ago i went and got myself a new vodafone UK sim card from the shop. (i got the phone from friend of mine who got it form Vodafone UK shop Pay as You go) I put the sim in the phone, the carrier on the top came: Vodafone Uk but i don't have any signal bars. Also the 3G on the phone is working normaly but i dont have any signal, i cant call anyone on text anyone its just the 3G working properly. I went different playces to see is the problem only where i lived, i went to the next town and the next one.....NO CHANGE. I restored the IPhone because i thought that is some bug with the phone and maybe this will clear it and help me...NO LUCK.
there Apple Communitie.I have an iPhone 4S and i can't pick up a 3G signal, only edge,i've tried restoring the phone to factory settings, resetting network settings but i can't get any internet better than Edge. and it's not a carrier fault to,i've been on the phone to them asking if my area wasn't in 3g range, when it is.it also might be helpful to note when i make a phone call i loose Edge completly till the phone is hang upI'm with Vodaphone
I have updated my iphone 3gs its factory unlocked. it was on i.o.s 4.1 and from 4.1 i have updated it to 5.1.1 and i dont know whats wrong with the update first of all phone is not able to choose any carrier, second thing is if i activate the 3g only one bit of signal is coming.
