IPhone :: Deleting Temporary Files On 4s With IOS 5.1?
Mar 20, 2012
I would like to know if there's a way to delete the temporary files automatically created by apps on iOS5.1 without cancelling the whole app, because they occupy a lot of memory on the device.
I am using Nokia E 71 and all of a sudden I am getting alert like 'Phone memory is full. Delete some data from Phone memory to received SMS'. I haven't installed anything recently in Phone memory and storage of my SMS' is also memory card. All other programs are installed in memory card. I use to browse website heavily on my phone and I think it is causing memory to be filled up due to heavy flash work.
I've got a 1.25gb cache of temporary files which I can't seem to clear, I've clicked on clear and it thinks about it, but I go back later and they are still there. It's peeing me off as I'm deleting stuff left right and centre to free up memory and there's 1.25gb just sat there.
Yesterday I was trying to open a .zip file on my phone that was around 510MB and when I click on that firstly it was opening then I got error by MS OFFICE that "there is not enough space to open this file" and now I have 510.22MB temporary files in my phone and I tried several times to delete them but it didn't make any deferance. And I also tried some cleaning applications and they are also not working.
I have been facing low memory issues and a lot of applications wont work. Is there a software patch that can detect temporary files and delete them from E72?
I have a decent quality (Samsung) 64gb Micro SD Card for my G3. Every time I put all of my music onto it then put it in my phone, it wipes all my music files off straight away. I checked if they were hidden by putting my SD Card back into the computer but they are actually getting deleted. I have tried some basic things (formatting the card, power on and off, etc) but I'm not having much luck.
I am trying to find a way to delete with a single tap all the pdf files, thumbnails and other files which end up in my Downloads folder. I have Cleanmaster, but this won't let you choose what to clean. I also have ES File Explorer which will let me access the folder and delete the files, but I'd rather have this process more automated.
I just got a new phone plan with Sprint which means I have the 4S now. I am also applying to study abroad in 2013. Out of curiosity, I popped the SIM slot and lo and behold is this Sprint-branded SIM, I suspect it's some sort of programming or network registration SIM? Anyways, I know I'll have to tell Sprint that I'm going overseas/unlocking and such. Plus, when I put in a foreign SIM, does it take priority over CDMA when both network types are in range? The places I may go are London, Germany or Korea. I know Korea has both networks and Europe is mainly GSM. I'm doing my research now that way I'm not rushing around trying to find the best network to get on when I land.
can anyone please tell me how to delete ipd. back-up files from my computer. they have a " locked" symbol on them and they will not delete. it says you need admin rights.i am the admin of my computer.
I have over 150 photos in the Pictures Folder on my Blackberry Torch 9800 and after importing them to my PC, I want to delete them from my BB to regain space and memory.. I can delete these photos one by one following directions in the Guide but it does not make sense to repeat this step 150 times and there must be a quicker way to go about it.
What I want to do is to delete the entire contents of that Pictures Folder in one step. I have looked into the BB Torch User Guide Ver 6.0 and in Help for the BB Desktop Software and have not found any directions on deleting entire folders or multiple files in a folder in one step.
I downloaded some wallpaper files which landed on the media card!I can't access them but once somehow I was able to see the files - so they are there.I'm on a Mac so no DM at this time.Is there a way I can delete these as I'm unable to search the media card.
I've recently (like earlier today) gotten ahold of MPAtool so I can get all my album art back into place.
First off, the app is awesome and if you don't currently use it, I'd highly recommend it.
ONLY problem is those "dummy files".
Every Youtube video I see on it instructs you to go to the "Music + Videos" icon, select "music", then while under "artists" you hit the # so you can bring up the alphabet of artists, from here you select the globe on the bottom right of the screen. Doing this then bring up the MPA tool dummy "artist" and you are under the "albums". Swipe left to go to songs. Hit the select icon on the bottom row so now you can easily "select all" and then delete them all at once.
Is there an app which can delete temp files automatically. Temp files are taking hugh amount of space on my phone. Any way to find out which apps are creating temp files....
Spotlight for me is an important way to get to contacts and applications on my iPhone and iPad. With the latest iOS 8.1.1 release, the spotlight feature on my iPhone stopped working completely and the only way to get it to work was rebooting the phone. Even after that it only worked for half an hour (tops)!! My iPad on the other hand had no issues at all.Â
After going through a lot of forums, I limited my spotlight search to contacts and applications and reboote my phone. The problem seems to have gone away and I can finally work my phone with ease.Â
Give this a try until Apple get their act together and roll out iOS 8.1.2.Â
P.S - Restarting your iPhone or your iPad is NECESSARY after you've limited your options in the spotlight menu.Â
P.S.S - I'm not sure if this will work for those with the same issue on their iPads but it's worth a try
I've got numerous pdf's I e downloaded to view in Adobe Reader and can't seem to find them to delete them.
On my S4 I could go to my files and delete them as some of them are quite large. I tried going to downloads but they aren't there.
I also hooked up to my computer via USB and found the Adobe folder and the files but can't delete them. It pops up a "deleting" box but just sticks there on 1st one and never deletes it.
I thought everyone might like this one. My wife has incredible problems with the proximity sensor on her i4, and last night she came up with a solution. I thought it was pretty clever, so I am passing it on here. She said that when she was in a call somehow she got switched to contacts (we all now how this happens, but she was unsure what she had done to make it happen) and had the green bar at the top (press to go back to active phone call bar). I explained she had gone into the contacts section of the phone while on a call. She found that since the phone activities were no longer on the screen, no more mutes, hang-ups, face dials, etc. occurred for her no matter what she did. So for the time being her resolution (although this is basic, it will work for everyone) is to leave the active call, while still on the call, to keep the phone actions from being activated by her face while on a call. it works for her, makes her happy, and we were able to talk for an hour without any of the past problems (she is across the country and no where near an Apple store to have them look at it, so in the meantime this will work for her). So if you find yourself in this position, it may be a handy work around in the meantime while waiting for the official fix from Apple. I just though it was a clever idea (usually she doesn't think about things like this) and since it works for her and enables her to make calls without problems, I am ecstatic (at least maybe she will stop complaining about the issue, yet I have to remind her that SHE was the one that wanted the phone so bad, and now she has it so bad!)
I have 8 applications on my Nokia N97 Mini that I cannot delete. When I click on them the file just flashes, and when i try to delete them the phone says it cant as they are a "corrupted file".I tried, soft reset, hard reset (factory reset) and it doesn't help, the files are still there! All I can do with them is move them around different folders. Also when using application manager it doesn't find them, so I cant even delete using that! Please can someone help?
Does anyone have some advice about deleting unnecessary files and folders left on the SD card after GB to ICS upgrade? There are files and folders dating back to 1979 - which sounds ridiculous, of course, but they may be current.
everytime i travel overseas i take a local sim card for use there to save on roaming costs. however I have never managed to get the phone to work with the new sim. The handset and ask for a new id or accepts the usual id and then shows a password incorrect. I use a bold 9900.how to get this handset / system to accept new sim cards on a temporary basis?
I'm visiting Israel for a month, I unlocked my phone and I'm going to use an Israeli SIM card for a month while I'm here. How do I transfer my contacts, or are they saved on my phone?
Today, a white screen started appearing on my Blackberry. I've almost never dropped it (maybe twice in my life, with the cover on it), but it have been through rough cold temperature (-15 while snowboarding or skating), if this information can help. The screen first black out (it's kinda grey-ish with lots of vertical lines, mainly black, some whites and a few colored) then turns white with ONE pink vertical line. Really weird. I try to make it disappear by clicking on the lock buttons multiple times and on the shortcuts key, sometimes on the track pad, and the screen becomes perfectly normal sometimes. Except when I press the shortcuts key, there's a big rectangle (not full screen but almost) where the text is blurred... Sometimes it disappears, or black out again. I tried to restore a previous back up file: didn't work, tried to reboot it by removing the battery: failed.
I use SmartActions to mute the phone ring during the night. Is there any way of muting the email sound notification without actually going into email "settings/notifications" for each email account every night then agin in the morning?
Just got a replacement N5 and I'm using the native email app (as I was on my previous N5), with gmail syncing turned on. The problem is when I delete an email on my phone, it's not deleting it from the Gmail server (it's still there if I check email on my PC). Some setting on the phone or in Gmail on the PC that I'm forgetting about?
Earlier today I decided to have a new wallpaper onto my phone, unfortunately I didn't like how it looked so I decided to delete them. The problem began when I tried to delete them and I found out that the delete option is unavailable due to syncing them onto my phone and what's worse is that the original files are gone. Is there anyway I can get rid of these files?
