IPhone :: Notes On 4s Not Syncing With Outlook 2011 Running On Lion
Apr 22, 2012I have an iPhone 4s and have it configured to sync with my Outlook 2011(14.2.0) running on Lion (10.7.3) . I see all the email, calendar, and contact items getting synched up with the latest changes. However the Notes that I have in outlook are not getting synched up. I tried configuring it to sync with Outlook 2010 running on Win 7 and everything works fine. I have reset the phone and tried to synch it back with 2011 and see the same problem with Notes. Don't see any updates on the iPhone.

Jun 28, 2012I'm not sure what I did--nstalled 10.7.2, then immediately updated to 10.7.4. Then noticed that my calendar on computer and iphone had all duplicated appointments. I deleted the duplicates on the computer calendar manually one by one. Now when I sync, the calendar from computer is not going to iphone. It acts like it's doing it, reading syncing calendars but it does it so quickly it's obviously not sending any content. It is syncing apps and audio, and other, but not calendar or contacts. Also all my contacts and text messages on the iPhone were deleted. I have the correct boxes checked in the info area of iTunes. It seems to be syncing but when it does so, doesn't recognize any content in Calendar or Contacts.

Mar 16, 2012Yesterday, I updated the iPhone configuration utility to v 3.5 and I was using the internet via iPhone USB tethering, as soon as the update finished, my iPhone USB tethering stopped working and its not working any more. I am on OS X Lion 10.7.3 using iPhone 4S, iOS 5.1. Now I figured out that running the OS in 32 bit lets me do USB tethering, but in 64 bit the iPhone USB Network Service shows on the right:
"Either the cable for iPhone USB is not plugged in or the device is not responding."
I've tried everything with keeping iTunes running, reinstalling iTunes, re-installing iPhone configuration Utility, but nothing seems to work! I guess the main culprit here is the new iPhone Configuration Utility v 3.5. It is so annoying to see such things breaking existing functionality. It has nothing to do with my Phone, because it works on my other Macbook Pro which I did not update and on my friends Snow Leopard.

Jun 25, 2012With my iPhone 4, running iOS 5.1.1, syncing notes in Mail results in a stange blank Notes document appearing in the Notes sidebar in Mail. The Notes look like a yellow sheet of ruled paper, as they do on my iPhone, but they open to reveal no information other than their names.
Once opened, they disappear from my list of Notes, and upon the next sync via USB cable from my iPhone to my Mac, the notes also disapepar from the phone. When opened in Mail, the blank and useless no-longer-a-note Notes will not close unles I quit Mail. I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.8. In Mail, I've tried both listing the Notes in the Inbox, and as their own separate group.

Can I fix this by turning "on" the "Contacts" button under Settings > mail, contacts, calendars > Gmail > contacts > on?Â
When I attempt this it asks me what I want to do with the existing contacts on my phone. What do I want to do here? If I say leave the contacts on my phone will the contacts merge or will I end up with duplicates?
BlackBerry :: Storing And Running Contacts On Media Card
Jul 20, 2011I have had my BB for about a month. Yesterday it froze solid and is now out for repair (two to six weeks... we'll see) I now have a Curve 8530 as a loaner, which will keep me going in the mean time.
I moved the SD card, and up came all my photos, etc.
I'm on the road a lot, so don't spend much time in front of PC, so had never synced my address book (nor have I installed the desktop manager) so now I need to re-enter all my contacts info from scratch (my phone provider moved them from my old phone during purchase... that phone is now gone).
Not wanting to do this twice, I navigated to Contacts - Options - Storage Options and selected 'Media Card' instead of 'Internal Memory' so that they would follow me back to my own phone when it comes back from repair. I really should have set that option on my own phone in the first place, but didn't know any better... it would have been great if my contact data was portable on the SD card instead of locked inside the dead phone, but live and learn.
"But wait", you're thinking, "MY phone doesn't have that option. What version of Contacts is that Curve using??" so I'll sadly admit that last paragraph is fictional. More sadly, the rest of the story is not and I'm now faced with a month of frustration as I reconstruct my contact database before I either get my unfrozen phone back, or worse, get a blank replacement. At least I can cheer myself up browsing those 200 photos I snapped during the last month, as they were all safely stashed on that 16GB SDhc chip. My kingdom for those extra few kilobytes of contact info...
Some time in the future I hope that RIM will mandate this option for ALL their applications. It is great to say that the application data is "securey stored inside the phone" and I understand there are security issues with having data exposed on removable media. But to not have at least the OPTION of keeping MY data portable is not acceptable. Provide an admin lock-out for the option for corporate/enterprise customers, sure. They have the infrastructure for backing up their users' configurations. But please allow private users like me, who rarely (or never) sync with DM, have more control of where things are stored.

I have google sync on my phone, but that only messed up my contacts by dumping a bunch of duplicates into my BB contacts and it doesnt seem to reverse sync. I have since deleted my gmail contacts so I dont suffer this fate again, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to reverse sync from BB to gmail.
