I'm new to ios and was wondering if the app store should normally let you know if an app needs to be updated? I see people having badges which show the amount of apps needing to be updated, but have never actually gotten that without going in the app store.
View 6 RepliesWhen I bought my original iPhone from an AT&T store, a little while before release time, an employee came out and talked to the 20 or so of us waiting outside. She said "it looks like we have enough phones in stock for everyone in line now" or something like that. I'm wondering, for those who have waited in Apple Store lines, do they do the same thing? I'm sure there will be many more than 20 people in line, but I would hate to be #93, only to find out hours later that they only had 90 phones in stock for walk-ins.

View 5 Replies View Relatedout of the box my Lumia 920 is not able use my operators data connection. Some days after I started using the phone I got a notification that there is an update to the access point application. Afterwards it worked. But now I had to reset it because I wasn't able to send and receive SMS anymore. So I again have no data connection, but this time the Store is not offering me the update and I can't search for it or install it via the PC.Microsoft wasn't able to help, neither was my operator nor Nokia. Does anybody have an idea what to do? I'm thinking about either changing the operator (to one that has settings on the SIM card) or give away the phone. Punishing the operator for this doesn't sound right to me though.

The applications will begin downloading, reach a certain point of the download (most recently it was 95%), then it seems to pause for 20 seconds, and then it appears to start the download again, usually installing successfully on the second try.

Whenever there are multiple updates in the Play Store and I press "Update", the first app updates, then the second one starts downloading, but the download hangs at some point, then after a few seconds the entire Play Store app closes without any message.
After that I can open the Play Store again and try to update the apps, but they only update one at a time, because on the second update it always crashes.
All the Google apps are at the latest versions, Play Store has version 4.6.17. This is happening for a while now, but I can't pinpoint it to a certain version of the Play Store app, but in the past I did not have this problem.
I've tried restarting the device, clearing data and cache for the Play Store app, clearing the cached data for the entire system, even switching the runtime (btw the problem is happening on both Dalvik and ART), but nothing worked.
I also have enough Available space: 4 GB as reported in Settings/Storage.
On my wife's Nexus 4, also completely stock and with updated Google apps, the problem it's not happening, so it's not something in my environment.
I'm having issues with the Play Store and some non-Google sites. I'm constantly noticing that Play Store gets stuck in "Downloading" when trying to update apps or install new ones and never actually starts until I completely restart the phone. Chrome also gets stuck loading pages that are non-Google sites, and I can't seem to download anything as they all get queued.
I tried clearing cache + data on play store, play services, download manager and even a factory reset. Everything works when I reboot, but after some hours it get "stuck" again, every day. Happens on wifi and 3G; what's causing it.I'm running stock Nov build with root (not systemless). Same exact apps and config on my N5 and no issues there.
Iphone 4 says i have updates to install for my apps, when i try to it prompts for my password which i type in, then it waits a few moments before telling me "Cannot connect to itunes store"

I am finding that Siri remains on with phone locked. It just interfears when I try to unlock and calls out the code I type in without actually entering into the passcode field. So this is "Siri in the middle" attack. I have switched off the phone, restarted couple of times, alas it always comes up in the mode where Siri remains on. I can't even backit up on iTunes as that says its locked.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince the Market App was updated to ver. 3.1.5 on my htc Desire, that when I get a new message in the notification area that there are updates for any of my20 Apps and clicking on updates it goes straight into My apps but no updates are showing only installed apps so don't know what apps need to be updated, or if already updated it does not say what app was updated.On clicking on all my apps there is no ticks in any of the Automatic Update boxes! Before the update to ver. 3.1.5 you could see what apps needed to be updated and why and had a choice if you wanted it updated or not

I go to add an account to it, and i select facebook, and i enter my email and pass, and then it loads for a little bit, then i come to another screen where my password is already entered, but the email box is greyed out, and it wont let me go any further until i enter an email, but since the box is greyed out i cant do anything.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI purchased my N97 about a year ago and I absolutely adore it. I haven't run into any problems until last week. When I turn on my phone, enter the unlock code and use it to do whatever I need to do, it works fine. However, if I lock the phone or let the backlight shut off, it won't turn back on and neither do the lights on the number keys. Here is the funny part: If I press the power key (as if I were to change my profile) the backlight turns on, allowing me to see the screen, but the number keys don't light up! Does anyone know what I can do?
I'm not very tech savvy (so please don't laugh if my solutions are completely wrong), but here are some of the things I have done to try and rectify the problem:
- Let the battery drain completely and charged it in the hopes that it would rectify itself like it has in the past with other issues
- Took out the battery, SIM card and memory card just to make sure everything was inserted properly
- Restored the phone to factory settings
Anyone have similar experience? I preordered 2 16GB Blacks on @ 5:15am yesterday. I received email confirmation on both Apple IDs I used, however, my store (Oak Brook, IL) does not show my reservation on the main website, but does confirm my reservation on the iPhone App? Is this sufficient backup to secure my phone on the 24th?
