Mar 23, 2012I have a an iPhone 4s 5.1. I have just recently updated from iOS 5.01. I kept getting messages saying that i had purchased songs that hadnt transfered and asking if i wanted to transfer them to itunes. i said yes and it immediately said it detected a device but it couldnt read it properly. so i attempted to restore it to factory settings. (after switching out USB cables and uninstalling/reinstalling itunes) i hit restore and it asked if i wanted to restore and i hit yes only to have a pop-up detailing all the new features on the 5.1 update. i cannot get past this point.

Apr 6, 2012I needed to update my phone to the 5.1 before I did I sync it so I could get everything back. Before I hit update I made sure it said last sync with the date and time. A backup was made before installation; and although a second update attempt was succesful, I am unable to find or use the backup that the loader made. May 3, 2012I finally updated my iPhone to 5.1. I waited so long because of the fiasco updating my iPod Touch when 5.0 first came out. I thought it worked, I was pleased Apple worked out the bugs. Lo and behold, all of my apps and folders disappeared before my eyes. No problem I thought, I did a back up. Restore from back up. Fifteen minutes later, it looks exactly the same. Isn't a backup supposed to be of everything on the system so that if something goes wrong, you just revert back to the back up and either try again or wait for the process to be fixed? Seriously, get your stuff together.
