after updating my iphone to ios 5.1.1, i no longer have sound. i have checked to make sure the sound options are on, and they are. the side buttons don't even allow me to increase/decrease volume. when i try to play music from my ipod/spotify/Internet etc. there is no sound, and there is no volume bar at the bottom of the screen. i am not sure what to do.

After updating my 4s to iOS 5.1, I can no longer turn it off. The slider only go halvway to the right and slip back by it self under my finger. The unlock slider behaves the same way. ITunes says that the phone is updated to the last version. There simcard has not been locked by the provider. Is this a bug in this software update?

I can hear everything just fine with earbuds or when it is connected to a docking station. I reset all content & settings, powered down several times, tried plugging & unplugging earbuds, as well as cleaning out the earbud connection with compressed air.

Ever since updating my OS to version 6.x from 5x OS I can no longer open a mms with a pic/video and sound bite simultaneously. i.e. If someone sends a video with sound file or a picture with sound file, it used to open simultaneously. Now it only shows as a separate pic/vid to open and separate sound file to open. It used to work before the upgrade and no longer works. My nexus 5 was good with no problem before the update, and even 1 day after.
The problem started on yesterday, when suddenly the speaker didn't work. Tried to switch on and off the volume, and sometimes it does come back! But most of the time it silent.
I am no longer getting sound from the phone - the ringer does not work and I can't play music.I have tried taking out the battery and it still does not work.The last sound I heard was the alert for a text message and it does not do that anymore. I can hear fine when talking on the phone.I would appreciate help with this as I have not found an solution that works yet.
