My nexus 5 was good with no problem before the update, and even 1 day after.
The problem started on yesterday, when suddenly the speaker didn't work. Tried to switch on and off the volume, and sometimes it does come back! But most of the time it silent.
When I make calls and recieve calls, no sound comes from the earpiece at the top, the volume level is maxed out and nothing. Then when I go and press the speaker it works. The phone is only 1 week old... the only thing installed is battery doctor
View 3 Replies View RelatedJust wanted to upgrade my sisters phone which was running an old 5.1 version (custom rom, so the phone was unlocked and rooted already) to an android 6.0.1 custom rom. So I flashed newest twrp and flashed 6.0.1 bootloader and radio.img via fastboot using wugfresh tool and the files from the thread on here. now when trying to get into recovery, I am stuck at the google logo.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy old Nexus 5 (vanilla 5.1.1 not rooted) is malfunctioning.There is no sound coming from the speaker in the bottom of the phone and the microphone is not picking up any sound when making a normal call and/or recording a video.The speaker at the top of the phone however, is working. So I hear people in phone calls, but they do not hear me.Now to the strange part: If I change to the loud speaker while in a call it's the opposite; I can not hear them but they can hear me.If I connect headphones into the headphone jack I can hear sound both in calls and in video playback.
So to summarize:
Playing video or music (YouTube, video recording, dialer sounds): No sound
Playing video or music (YouTube, video recording, dialer sounds) with headphones: Sound working
Recording video: No sound recorded
Making a phone call: Sound but no microphone
Making a phone call with loudspeaker on: No sound but microphone working
Making a phone call with handsfree connected: Not tested (I have no headphones with mic).
And what's even more strange is that I just replaced the flex cable with the microphone and charging dock and also the entire speaker with new parts from eBay. And guess what... it's still not working!!!
I use the speaker on my N6 to listen to approx 4 hours of podcasts daily. In the past week, when I start a podcast, the speaker is nice & loud, then in approx 10 seconds it starts to lower until I can still hear it, but it's too low. If I hit Pause, then Start, it's loud again for 10 seconds. YouTube has same problem. Volume settings are at max.
I called support and went into Safe Mode and ran a video on YouTube, same thing. I factory reset the phone and before installing my podcast player (BeyondPod) I played a video and the volume started loud & then lowered.
I purchased the phone directly from Google and have a Sprint sim in it. Ver 5.1...
I received my Nexus 6 from Amazon. It seems as though the top speaker is considerably louder than the bottom. When I flip the phone upside down, it is still the top speaker that is louder.
When I turn the phone to landscape mode, it is the right speaker that it louder. I flip the orientation to where the former right speaker is now the left and vice versa. It's the same problem where the right speaker (the former left speaker) is still louder.
While on a voice call in Hangout, how do I switch from speaker to ear-piece on Nexus 6...

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having problems with the combination of radio apps (e.g. TuneIn, CBC Radio, NPR), and a Bluetooth speaker (Blackweb SoundPebble). The apps work fine and will play through the Nexus 5 speakers or headphones when no Bluetooth speaker is connected. However, when I connect a Bluetooth speaker, the apps do not work - they don't get past the title screen. The Bluetooth speaker works OK with locally stored files e.g. music saved to the device.

View 24 Replies View RelatedI purchased a Nexus 6 phone about 9 months ago and installed many widgets. My software is up-to-date and AT&T is my carrier.
Everything was working fine until approximately 5-6 weeks ago when the widgets began freezing multiple times per day requiring a reboot to reactivate. When the widgets freeze - everything else works fine. I have gone through several exercises trying to determine the cause to no avail. I've removed all of the widgets and reintroduced one at a time, but can't pinpoint any one widget as being the issue. I currently use the following widgets: Weather Channel, The Score, Google Now, Calendar, Gmail and Flipboard.
I got error message when i update my nexus 5 to 5.0.1, my nexus downloading the update and restart, after that in the middle of the process, it suddenly says error

I'm using Nexus Toolkit to root so can i use the Toolkit to unroot without losing data? After that will i be able to update OTA?
I use Toolkit to Flash stock + unroot and it worked and i didn't lose any data (Must go to option and check unwipe data). I first unroot using supersu but that didn't work, just want to share it.
I went into recovery and rebooted, still get the "no command" screen. Factory reset didn't fix it either.
I got into fastboot and ran the flash-all from an image I got from Google and got "'fastboot' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Chronus clock and an Accuweather widget that wil randomly stop updating. The only way to resolve this is to reboot the phone. The Chronus clock works ok, but the battery meter will randomly stop updating. The Accuweather wigdet will also stop. If I remove and re-add the Accuweather app, all I get is the "Loading" screen.
I am on a Nexus 6 on the T-Mo network. Currently running OS 5.1.1, build LYZ28J.
My location service never goes away it just keeps searching and updating.
If I have all my location services on. Why am I getting places 1,000 miles away as my top searches?
After Marshmallow Update, my Nexus 5 behaving Strangely - Showing Incorrect Time & After Restarting Showing Correct Time.
The Time Zone is Correct But Still Showing Incorrect Time.
The Clock Running Slow, Sometimes 1 & 1/2 Hours Times Back & Sometimes 2 Hours Back.
After Restarting, Shows Correct Time, Again After Sometime The Clock Runs Back.
After Manually Setting The Clock, The Problem Still There.
On this day my Nexus 5 Clock was a day Off Like The Time Displayed on My clock was 6::30 Pm Thu 22 2015 Whereas The Actual Time was 7:37 Fri 23 2015 & when I set the Date & Time Correct, This is what Displayed on my Screen.

After updating my Nexus 5 to Marshmallow, I can no longer hang up the phone. The screen stays black when I move it away from my face. I have to unlock my phone or wait for the other person to hang up. Also, the screen doesn't always go to sleep anymore when it should.

I made some editions on my system's sound files (like lock and unlock screen sounds) and made it like the "idroid" in Metal Gear Solid 5 Ground Zeroes game but these sounds volumes are really low.The problem here is , nexus 5 doesn't have an option to adjust the system sounds volume unlike samsung galaxy phones which had an option to rise or low the system sounds volume.I tried volume boost app but it rise the whole speaker sounds.Is there any way to adjust the system sounds only ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThe new Facebook Messenger (the UI overaul version), introduced a nice new notification sound for incoming messages. I was interested in extracting the sound from the app but I can't find it anywhere in a File Explorer.
FYI - I'm using Stock 4.4 Nexus 5 out of the box.
I am not talking about the "Facebook-pop.mp4". The newest version of the app introduced a newer sounding noise. It almost sounds like a water droplet.
How to get it?
I'm using an N5 with stock 5.01, rooted with twrp. During the night I used to use a tasker profile for when sleeping that did pretty much what priority Mode does by allowing my started contacts calls and messages to get through and alert me. With priority Mode now available, I use tasker to just trigger that instead.
But I'm having an issue with my messages. I use Handcent as my default messaging app and when I get an sms from a starred contact when in priority Mode it does not sound. I installed google messenger to check and when it's set to default messaging app I get the notification since no issues. Switch back to Handcent and no luck again.
I use Handcent because I like the pop up alert in it, but more so because I can schedule sms messages for a particular time, which is a feature I do use a bit. So if rather not change from it. Why the alert doesn't sound in Handcent during priority Mode.
I'm not sure but i think my nexus kinda has a very low sound output during voice calls.. I can barely hear anything at full volume in a not so loud environment..
