My iphone 4S froze and got "hot". All I had was an asterisk on the screen so I rebooted it as suggested. Now I wonder if I should be turning it off more often?

So last night my phone randomly froze and rebooted into the command page with the little android guy saying no command. So I had to reboot system and all is well.

i was opening an app when my phone froze, i held the power button till it turned off. it then took over 2 mins to switch off, it will now not turn on or charge. my laptop does not reconise that it is connected to it.

My Photon Froze when the battery was almost out, then turned itself off. Now will not turn on, only get the opening screen where it says dual core technology. Ive tried everything, taking out the battery, charging the phone, turning it on without the battery. A few times it has said boot failed in the top corner.
View 12 Replies View RelatedSo I have had my AT&T G4 since last June and it's worked perfectly fine. Suddenly tonight as I was just watching YouTube my phone froze and shut down. I tried taking out the battery and it won't turn back on at all. The LG screen shows up and then it loops a bit before going dark and the power button won't work. Not until I replace the battery again. And the cycle begins anew. Sometimes the white AT&T screen shows, but still nothing. Once I got it to a screen that was optimizing apps I think. But that quickly failed.
I haven't factory reset yet because I do not want to loose my information and I don't know if I even have a back up. I don't know what to do and I can't be without my phone.
I have a blackberry bold 9000, recently ive been having some problems with it, i did a routine battery pull while the phone was frozen, when it rebooted the arm on the loading screen went around twice then the phone rebooted again, it repeatedly does this until the phone dies, if i hook it up to the charger....same outcome, i am a poet and have months of work stored in the memos, and have about 90 numbers that werent saved on the simcard, i took the simcard out and the memory card, i have done pretty much everything i wus ever told to do as far as fixing it, i plan on buying an bold 9700 but i still must retrieve my contacts and memos can anyone give me any tips as far as fixing it, or atleast tell me how to get my memos and contacts off, thanks for your time and consideration.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have another annoying adventure with N8. It was turned off, charging via USB, then the morning alarm worked, i pressed "snooze", device froze with the message "Alarm snoozed for 5 minutes" on the screen.
It does not react on pressing the turn on/off button.
On any other phone I would just take off the battery. On a PDA I would use the little pinhole button to restart. Neither is possible with this "gorgeous" n8. It never freezes, aha.
So now it's morning, i need to go to work, and instead i'm trying to start the freaking phone. You're losing fans, Nokia. This is the most problematic smartphone i had.

When the screen is locked and is plugged into the charger, anytime I receive a text message the screen lights up and NEVER automatically puts itself back to sleep. The screen will dim, but stay lit until I physically press the lock button.

I have tried to put the iPhone in DFU and all I can get it to do is go into recovery mode (Shows a picture of iTunes with USB etc..) When I press the Sleep and Home button, the iPhone just goes of for a second and then powers back up and again, stays at the Apple logo. I have some pictures on my iPhone that I MUST get off before I allow it to be recovered.

Went through the Settings -> General -> Software Update method to find 7.1.2 and it has frozen upon installation approx 33% of the way through. It has remained in this state overnight. Â
My phone is not jailbroken or anything like that and I have tried hard resetting it but nothing is happening. When connected to iTunes, all iTunes says is, "To allow access please respond on your phone" which I obviously can't do.Â

So I tried to update my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.1.1, like iTunes told me to do, and it froze part way through the installation for a couple of hours. I tried to "reset" the iPhone by pressing both the home and power buttons simultaneously, but now iTunes tells me my iPhone is in recovery mode. From my limited knowledge, it seems I need to restore my iPhone, but I don't want to lose anything, like my SMS history.
Is there a way to get out of recovery mode without having to restore?

I disconnected my phone and tried to reboot it but that didnt work. i tried to reconnect it to itunes but it wasnt being read... so i downloaded the new itunes update to see if that would make a difference and it did... except for when i connected my phone to itunes there was a message that said " itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes." If i restore my phone everything will be deleted & i'm not sure when i did back up, i think it was 2 1/2 months ago. I dnt know what to do, i dont want to lose all my pictures and texts that i currently have on my phone.

Screen on my iphone 4s suddenly froze. I am unable to switch off the phone or move the screen, it's just frozen and it's showing that the phone is locked although it has been unlocked and moved to another screen prior to freezing. I am now restoring the phone to it's factory settings and it is still being processed.
I can see that itunes is working on this, but the screen remains frozen and switched on. If this doesn't work and I think that it won't.

Was out for a nice walk this morning talking to my mom on the phone and she went silent - looked down at the phone and the AT&T logo was there - the phone was rebooting. Had been on the phone for maybe 7-8 minutes and it had been up to my ear the whole time, so it wasn't a combination of anything on my part.
