Does the iphone 4 have 5x digital zoom for hd video recording? In the keynote Steve says 5x digital zoom is "built in to the camera app" (52m 32sec in to the keynote) but it's not clear whether this feature applies to the HD video recording?

In other words, the photo mode will take wider shots than the video mode. Is this intended or how can I fix this? It doesn't look like the video mode has a digital zoom to mess around with.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIt was just announced that the IPhone 4 will have zoom for the camera, but will this be real optical zoom, or will it simply be "digital" zoom? Digital zoom is so stupid - I can duplicate the effect of digital zoom by cropping the photo with photoshop afterward. Not only is digital zoom in effect the same a cropping a photo, but because the photo was cropped from the get-go, you have LOST information that you might have wanted. What if you "zoomed in" and took the picture, but mistakenly chopped off the top of your subject's head? That portion of the head was actually being perceived by the camera's sensor, so you could have had a complete photo, but it is now lost forever thanks to digital zoom.

It seems to have occurred recently and am wondering if it is related to the recent Nokia camera/beta camera updates. I'm running 8.1 DP but I don't believe I was having this issue before and I don't believe I have had any recent big falls or jolts to the phone that might cause mechanical problems and I believe the zoom works fine in still pictures.

I have a Galaxy S6 edge on T-Mobile and juts noticed this morning that whenever I attempt to record a video I get a warning stating "The video codec is currently being used by other applications..."
Is it possible to determine which application has it in use? I've closed all running applications which didn't resolve the problem. Restarted the phone without starting any other applications before the camera and that failed. I'm not seeing any information about this issue in the couple of searches I've done so far but wonder if it's an isolated issue or something common.
Short of a Factory Reset, which I'm not fully opposed to doing, is there a potential solution?
i believe i found a bug with 3.1. videocamera pauses while video recording when a live paper is being used when wallpaper is just a picture than it works properly.

I shot an hour's worth of clips during which I tested and heard the sound being recorded. When I went to upload it to my computer, there was no sound. Pics are good. Looking at the original clips still on my iphone, and there's no sound. I tried to record another video clip as a test and it has no sound. I'm getting married soon, and rather than hire a videographer to produce something we probably won't like anyway, we thought we'd go down the riskier route of asking friends and family to use their iPhones to record video on the day, and then editing all the results together ourselves.
The major stumbling block we're facing now is that most people's iPhones don't have enough free storage available to be used as video cameras for a day-long event. So I was wondering if there was any safe way to back up each iPhone (we're talking about half a dozen or so), temporarily reset it to clean out the storage, and then restore it later on after extracting the video. The questions I need answered are:
1) Can one Mac, running one instance of iTunes, be used to back up multiple iPhones, some of which are not even synced with that specific Mac?
2) Can I get large amounts of video off those iPhones without syncing and potentially over-writing previous back-ups? Is there a method of extracting video that doesn't involve iTunes (just as you can use Preview in OS X to get photos off the camera roll without opening iTunes, for example)?
3) Once the video has been taken off the phones, is it safe to assume that iTunes will happily restore each phone from its respective back-up?
