IPhone :: 4 With Real Optical Zoom Or Useless Digital Zoom?
Jun 7, 2010It was just announced that the IPhone 4 will have zoom for the camera, but will this be real optical zoom, or will it simply be "digital" zoom? Digital zoom is so stupid - I can duplicate the effect of digital zoom by cropping the photo with photoshop afterward. Not only is digital zoom in effect the same a cropping a photo, but because the photo was cropped from the get-go, you have LOST information that you might have wanted. What if you "zoomed in" and took the picture, but mistakenly chopped off the top of your subject's head? That portion of the head was actually being perceived by the camera's sensor, so you could have had a complete photo, but it is now lost forever thanks to digital zoom.

Oct 8, 2010I would like to confirm if Digital Zoom is NOT possible at 5 megapixel, nor at 3 or 1 megapixel with Elm camera. I am able to zoom-in & zoom-out only in VGA mode. With Yari, I am able to zoom-in & zoom-out even at 5 MP. Could somebody please let me know why the same is not possible with Elm?
The current firmware version on my Elm is "R7BA076" and camera software version is "3.8". If I upgrade it to "R7CA06" with camera version "3.9", would I be able to zoom-in & zoom-out at 5 MP?

Jun 9, 2010Does the iphone 4 have 5x digital zoom for hd video recording? In the keynote Steve says 5x digital zoom is "built in to the camera app" (52m 32sec in to the keynote) but it's not clear whether this feature applies to the HD video recording?

In other words, the photo mode will take wider shots than the video mode. Is this intended or how can I fix this? It doesn't look like the video mode has a digital zoom to mess around with.

Apr 19, 2012My nokia 5800 takes many time to autofocus i.e. changing of bracket from yellow to green. Firstly I can see zooming of lens in and out during autofocus, but now I can't. As a result the pic it shoots is blurred. When i compare the picture quality of 5800 with 5233 (2 mp), I found quality of 5233's pic is far better than 3.2 mp carl zeiss lens.

Sep 12, 2011But, I find the camera of mini pro little frustrating. I think the time gap between clicking the capture button and the time when actual pic is taken is quite significant. I tried using samsung galaxy S2 cam. I used both touch capture and button capture. There was no delay. You tap the screen or say, click the capture button and you instantly get a pic. I have tried clicking some birthday pics but my mini pro always misses the pics because it works on a delay of 3 seconds I feel.

Jun 21, 2012So the other day I switched over from an iPhone 4, my gf bought the HTC One X after I recommended it to her since shes not an Apple person and after playing around with it my self I decided to also switch. So far I'm loving the phone but a couple of things that are bothering me are this;How is it that you cannot send DECENT quality videos?! On the iPhone I was able to send high quality minute long videos with no problem. I took a 15 second video in lower resolution and pixel rate and EVERY TIME it would say the file is too large.Next, group messaging.. iPhone did this no problem. Me and 3 other people could send messages back and forth like we were in a chat room, HTC? Nope, sends them individually to each person. I heard some recommendation of apps that do this but they make you sign up for some lame account where my name is displayed instead of my phone number or name listed in THEIR contact list.
Lastly, is there a way to change the keyboard other than the tilt way to make the space bar button bigger? I'm always hitting the period button after every wordAre there any ways to get around these little inconveniences? I'd appreciate any recommendations or suggestions cause I'd hate to have to go back to the ATT store and upgrade to the iPhone 4S.Edit: Another issue.. noticed while in camera mode, taking pictures theres a constant clicking noise coming from the phone. Sep 9, 2010So having a blackberry has turned into a nightmare for me.
Backstory: I have the 8330... this is brand new, not even 30 days old. I had one before but Sprint felt I needed a sofware upgrade due to my phone resetting and they basically locked me out of the phone. How genuis??? So a week's worth of daily 20mile drives to Sprint's repair stores in a torrential downpour and I have a new phone.
ISSUE: When I take pictures on this blackberry and I zoom, my picture comes out very small online. the closer the zoom, the smaller the pic. how do I turn this off. This is the gripe of my life right now! It never happened on my old phone. allmy pics were large (per my setting).Any insight on how i can fix this or should I return this blackberry too?
