When I have an active 3-way confrence call and I am asked to "Hit 1 for yes or 2 for NO" the phone tone will not register to pick the number. It sounds the tone, but the other phone line asking for me to hit the number will not register the tone. Any suggestions??

I'm a dedicated BB users and have been using many models over the years, but this is the first annoying problem i encounters with the 9700.i bought 2 tMo 9700 last week for me and my wife. when i got home, i updated the os of my 9700 to .586
the problem started when the battery level reach 40%. whenever i'm in a call or the bb in keypad lock mode, it suddenly shut off itself. and then i can't turned it on unless i plugged in the charger. but after it turned on, i can unplugged the charger and the bb would be normal until the battery reach 0%.
i thought i was a battery problem with my 9700, so i tried using my wife battery, and it was still the same problem coming out. so then i thought it was an OS problem, so i upgrade it to .593, and it still gave me the same problem. then i tried downgrade it to .578, and it still the same.then my guess was it was a faulty 9700. but i tried the software upgrade to my wife's BB and then she had the same problem as i am.
what's wrong with our 9700's? can anyone help us? i have been looking all over the internet but found no solution.we have the same apps installed beside add ons: ubertwitter, opera mini, google sync, googlemaps,foyage, blackcorpo theme.
Somehow , my X10 key pad doesn't work while answering any call. I've tried re-installing the software and restrarted few times. Can't retrieve voice messages ...

While on a call, phone automatically adds same contact in as a second call - the "MERGE CALLS" box opens above keypad. At no time did I do this myself, but perhaps proximity sensor not working and something with the call on my face does it itself. Once this happens, I cannot go back to my first call. Merging calls doesn' t allow me to talk to the first call either. There is no button to UNMERGE the two calls to return to the first. My only option is to end the second call, which ends both.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently updated to the new OS via desktop manager. Shortly afterwards i have noticed missing calls and messages. The vibrate alert works & the light flashes but no sounds. I have expeirienced a similar but different issue on the last update, where all ringtones and sounds were ereased from the phone, resolution was go back to previous update and re apply update.
After a number of battery out reboots i have unfortunately not had success in correcting the fault. I note that the keypad tones are also gone when attempting to make a call. I have tried playing audio files and have no sound unless i switch to speakerphone, have considered that perhaps the speaker has failed or the issue has disabled the main speaker, guessing the ringer would use this...the phone works fine i.e the speaker next to ear works o.k but no evidence of any audio from the one on the back. In my few hours of exploring and proding the device i have discovered that the mute button seems to not do anything...
Can anyone offer some guidance or suggest a solution. I have trawled the forum a bit and found similar but not same descriptions, have explored all suggestions but have come up short
I am unable to conference calls. I just get a message "Operation Failed" when I click on Join Conference.

Anyway when I click on a meeting in my calendar that has a conference number plus the meeting ID the phone prompts me asking if I want to send the extra tones when I click yes I get a very small burst of static and 1 tone. From that date i tried to configure the same, But in vain. The following methods i tried, Host routing table ->Register->registration message sent->then i pulled out the battery and SIM card and again i repeated. Till date i did it nearly 100 times. subsequently i spoke to vodafone chennai. No proper response from them. I can make a call and receive . Also i can send and receive SMS.
