View 1 Replies View RelatedWith this new design for the iPhone, there is no more chrome bezel around the screen, I cant really tell from pictures how the glass is sandwiched within the steel band, but I know I'm hoping this eliminates the issue where the screen would sit below the bezel, revealing its sharp edge. Being someone who had their 3g swapped for this reason, some may think I'm nitpicking, but has this crossed anyone else's mind when seeing this new design?

I was wondering what the job of this little part is and what the implications would be if it did not do its job properly.

View 14 Replies View RelatedDue to its grey colour, the keys don't create a strong contrast and they are hard to read in some conditions when light is coming from a certain direction because the keypad backlight come out to soon. Especially indoor I can't read any of the keys. I'm really disappointed when after I installed the latest software upgrade this problem still exist. Is it possible to "turn off" the ambient light sensor that I'm supposing causes this problem? Have you same issue? Some workaround or fix available?

Just in 3+ weeks USB port metal shield in phone was ruptured from phone circuit board and metal holding came out with the cable. Board was not damaged as I could get USB working by keeping cable in manually in right position but as it was not secured it stopped working as soon as phone moved even slightly. Using Nokia Comes with Music/Ovi store during Xmas heavily I connected/disconnected usb 200+ times in this short time frame.
Nokia repair shop took the phone for repairs for over 5 weeks and surprised by a billed (40 Euros) statement that it can't be repaired satisfactorily. It's not within Nokia limited warranty terms and I should by a new phone! I can't complain as consumer as I bought phone for my company and can't use my private insurance to cover replacement. As I bought it via an operator I'm wondering whose Quality Assurance I should now complain. As a telecoms consultant I've advised several equipment manufacturers on quality assurance but this really puzzles me.
I have been reading some conflicting stuff online. Some people are saying that you must be touching the metal side rails of the phone for the scanner to read a fingerprint and that's why people with cases on are having trouble. Other people are saying your finger just needs to touch the little metal edge of the button on the back of the phone for it to work. I held my phone by the plastic top and bottom and my fingerprint unlocked it perfectly..I wasn't touching any of the metal side rails. My case hasn't arrived yet so I haven't tested it with a case on.

I have many apps installed, but this has happened with a fully loaded phone and a recently formatted phone, so that's not the issue. Any type of metal surface causes the phone to turn off. Some examples: inside my desk drawer, on a metal table at a restaurant, on top of a napkin dispenser.I reiterate: this has happened when the phone is brand new, untouched, and when the phone is fully loaded. It also ONLY happens on metal, and has never once turned off while sitting on any other surface.

So I just got an iPhone yesterday , to make an apple ID I used my email address.It told me the email is already in use , even though I never made an apple ID before but anyway it told me to change the password for it ,So I went and did that but it seemed like somebody else had been already using my email address as their apple ID because when I went into manage account , firstly the name was totally different , the address was Canada's and a phone number was there too and security questions were asked in French.Now that sort of freaked me out, has someone hacked my email address or what ? And why would they use my email address as their apple ID why couldn't they use their own ? Btw I didn't change any information on the account yet just Incase I had to report it to apple ( and I'm still not able to use it as my apple ID)

I have an IMAC, 2008 intel model. It accepts all DVDs I have but will not load some DVD's I just had made from VHS tapes. The company says that their MACs load the discs ok and they local apple store loads them ok. They also load on my windows XP machine ok. But on my IMAC they go in the slot grind a little and then are ejected again. Anybody got a solution to this?

I have a water damaged iPhone that I've arranged to return to Apple for replacement at a cost of £126.44. I want to back-up what I can before I do this, but the phone literally only lasts about 60-90 seconds each time I switch it on. I have had a look at iTunes, in the edit->preferences->devices section, and it is showing the following [url] That seems to show a back-up on 9 March 2012, which is fairly recent and I'd be happy with using that to transfer to the refurbished iPhone from Apple.Can someone confirm:-
1. What that back-up actually "backs-up" - i.e. does it back-up everything (contacts/SMS/MMS/Pictures/Videos/Notes/Apps, etc)?
2. If I tried to do a further back-up, will this wipe the back-up from the 9th March 2012, or will I still have the 9th March back-up available to choose to use as a restore when I get the refurbished phone?
3. How long does a back-up take?

My iphone 4 has been dropped and maincard damaged . I sent it to a local service to check it out because it was out of warranty. So they told me that to send it to authorized service to replace. I sent it to authorized service and they refused replacement because i bought it from other country and also opened by another un authorized iphone service.
