After resetting my brand new iPhone 4s I now get a message "the phone may be damaged"

So I'm having a few problems with my iPhone. About 30 hours ago, I dropped my phone into a full sink. It was immersed for probably one or two seconds. I made the mistake of trying to turn it on right away, and it started spazzing - i.e. the startup apple icon screen would come on repeatedly and for a while the screen was flickering.
I looked online and followed people's advice of turning it off, letting the battery die, and leaving it in a cool place to dry. Since this morning the phone has been in a bag of rice drying off. I tried plugging it in tonight (impatiently) and to my delight the phone revived itself after charging for about half an hour. I synced it with my iTunes and sent one or two texts with no problems. But almost immediately my signal went down to no bars and I lost 3G connection.
Since then, it was displaying "Searching..." at the top of the screen, and got bursts of connection enough to receive two texts. Literally I would turn my phone on and all the bars would be there, along with 3G, then within a few seconds no bars again. For the last while it's just said "No Service."
I tried resetting the network settings to no avail, took the sim card out and cleaned it lightly with an eraser, nothing. When I go to "Carrier" under settings, it "searches" for, then finds (after a few minutes), my wireless network, but as soon as I leave the page my connection disappears again.
My question is- does anyone know if water damage can cause this particular kind of problem? Even though my phone is working perfectly otherwise (besides a somewhat mottled, water-spotted screen), is it possible that something within the phone was damaged that will not allow me to get a connection? Or could it be the sim card that is damaged?
I'd really be grateful to you if could help me out with this. I have got a locked Nokia N91. I went to a local mobile repair shop which claims to unlock branded phone. While it was being unlocked, the phone got some error for some unknown reason and now whenever I start my phone, all it says is ' phone start-up failed, contact the retailer' the repairer says the phone's IMEI is damaged which I have confirmed from various repair shops and would need some RPL file (which I haven't got any idea about) and since Nokia servers are down its not possible right now, he tells me to wait for a bit before the servers are up on the run again. I have no idea if its even true. All I want to know is Can My Phone really be Repaired? And if Yes whats the Criteria for doing so? And if i take my phone to Nokia repair shop. I am afraid they would not fix it since they haven't got a license to unlock branded phones.

When the new buyer activates the phone with a new sim card, will my forward call setting be visible to him?Â

My blackberry 9630 was water damaged pretty bad. I went home and put the phone in rice for a day, it still didn't turn on. I then left it in my car (in the heat) for a few hours and it turned on and was working. The only issue was, the keyboard wasn't functioning properly. It would type several letters on screen when I typed any single key.I opened it up and put isopropyl alcohol on it, upon closing the phone it was not working at all. When I plug it in, the red light turns on. (and stays on for quite some time) however the phone never turns on.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn every single call the phone resets the in call volume to max. I set the volume to the lowest in every call but phone resets it back to maximum volume in next call automatically.
It's a horrible nuisance to reduce the volume each time and my ear now hurts badly. Though I reduce the volume each time, the first one or two sounds are still loud before volume reduction. Â
I set it to finger print unlock and within 45 seconds of setting the lock I tried to reopen my phone and it didn't recognize my fingerprint. No big deal, that's why we have the secondary password right? Nope. It said incorrect password every. Single. Time. Which it can't POSSIBLY be incorrect because me being the small brained blonde that I am only use 3 possible passwords at any given time as it is!!!!
So I got onto the device manager and for the first few days was not able to lock it because it was already locked....so I left it for a few days. NOW I am currently on the device manager and the option to lock the phone WILL let me set a new lock on the phone....so I tried it. I go to punch in the password on the screen of my phone and it still says it is incorrect. I have now tried this at least 5 times using the most simple passwords and it still says it is incorrect.
My N73 has been slow for some time, so I've been browsing these pages for a solution. This is what I've done so far: -
I changed my log history to one dayI moved all contacts and messages to my memory cardI reset the phone to factory defaults (my code was 11111 as default btw, not 12345 as suggested).
After powering up my newly restored handset I'm saddened to say that it's just as slow as before and is driving me nuts! Does anybody have any other ideas I could try?
Just purchased the HTC M8 phone and its great...........apart from one thing:
Every so often but at least once/twice a day the screen goes blank and i can't unlock the phone without resetting (Volume + and Power Button) ...
Does hard resetting the phone resets software updates as well...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI got a new phone and set fingerprint password. It didn't really work so I got rid of it and just used a PIN. Now that I got my scanner fixed I want to use it again but it needs the backup password which I don't have. I tried scanning my finger and it didn't work. It will not let me scan again and is asking for the backup password for it to be able to open. I am not locked out of my phone rather I just need the backup password to change some settings. I would like to know if there is a way to reset the backup password without resetting my phone and keep in mind I am not locked out and still have full access just not the backup password?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't get past the checking connection stage on my phone. I live behind great CHinese Firewall. When I first got the phone I set it up at work which has a VPN-ized network. I waited until my holidays (now) to unlock, root, etc.
However, I do not have access to vpns that are router based - only computer based. I can't seem to share these connections to get the Nexus to register and check a connection - phone times out rather than taking suggested 2 minutes. I can't seem to skip the process either. I CAn't get back to work at the moment so I am left with 'Couldn't connect to the Internet' message and of course LTE won't work either as it's behind the great firewall.
How to gain access to my phone?
Whenever my phone (HTC one M7) turns off it forgets all wifi networks i have signed into, meaning that when it switches back on I have to type in passwords again. This has been happening since i upgraded my software to android lollipop 5.0.2 ....
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S5 from Verizon, currently running Android v4.4.4. Due to battery life that's gone down to about 7 hours from an initial average of about 11, I decided it was time to reset my phone to see if that might work (though I've taken to the less nuclear option of allowing Google to restore my apps and app data from Google's backup).
Before the reset, I'd had almost every app that could be moved to the SD card moved to the SD card.
The reset did not affect the SD card. Now, I'd like to move all my apps that can be so moved, moved onto the SD card again. My question is, since the reset did not affect my SD card (I'd even removed it for one of the two resets that I've done since last night), is there app stuff from my previous installation on my SD card, stuff that I should be able to delete now to make space for my new set of apps that I want to move to the card?If so, how do I clear out that old app stuff?
I assume that I need to...If I had Audible installed on the card before, and I now have Audible in my phone's internal storage, if I move it to the card, is there any chance that it'll recognize the previous installation, re-associate itself with it, and thus save me the time of downloading previously downloaded audiobooks?
My cat knocked my 8220 into a sink full of water while I was doing dishes - the phone was submerged for maybe 4-5 seconds, after which I disassembled the phone, dried everything off with a paper towel, and left the components to finish air drying. I didn't put anything into the rice as I heard is the best way to completely soak up any excess moisture, but the phone worked without an issue about two days later. Two weeks after the fact, my phone is unusable as of a few days ago, when it started compulsively resetting. This happened to me a few months ago, not a result of water damage, and I had to have the phone replaced with the one I'm using now. As of today, a tech with my service provider ascertained that the phone needs to be replaced again, and set up an in-store replacement. The reps there however will be looking for water damage, and I am curious to see whether or not they will find any.
The small square sticker near the SIM card slot is pure white, with no markings or smudges or discolouration. However, the sticker at the end of my batter is pink, with very clear darker pink X's on it. I read that if the sticker was pink, it's game over, yet other things I read said that it's okay if it's pink, as long as the X's are discernable. Does anyone know for sure whether or not I'm in trouble?

I have a water damaged iPhone that I've arranged to return to Apple for replacement at a cost of £126.44. I want to back-up what I can before I do this, but the phone literally only lasts about 60-90 seconds each time I switch it on. I have had a look at iTunes, in the edit->preferences->devices section, and it is showing the following [url] That seems to show a back-up on 9 March 2012, which is fairly recent and I'd be happy with using that to transfer to the refurbished iPhone from Apple. Can someone confirm:-
1. What that back-up actually "backs-up" - i.e. does it back-up everything (contacts/SMS/MMS/Pictures/Videos/Notes/Apps, etc)?
2. If I tried to do a further back-up, will this wipe the back-up from the 9th March 2012, or will I still have the 9th March back-up available to choose to use as a restore when I get the refurbished phone?
3. How long does a back-up take?

My iphone 4 has been dropped and maincard damaged . I sent it to a local service to check it out because it was out of warranty. So they told me that to send it to authorized service to replace. I sent it to authorized service and they refused replacement because i bought it from other country and also opened by another un authorized iphone service. Yes i made a mistake and gave it another service for repair. Should i throw it to the garbage? I trust apple to help me to recover my iphone at any cost..
