How I can back up my phone if the screen is unable to be unlocked? I have tried volume buttons, connecting to the lap top and using Ps3 remote but can not get access to the phone!
View 3 RepliesBrand new Z5 Compact out of box. Switched from iOS and thus used iSMS2Droid/SMS Backup & Restore-trick to transfer text conversations to android. Worked like a charm apart from the fact that the profile pictures i messages are not the same as in phone book. Not a major issue but quite annoying.

I have tried the following
1. Delete conversation, delete messenger data & cache, restart, write new message - fawlty profile picture comes back
2. Delete contact in phonebook, create new contact with new picture - does not sync

I notice that if I click faulty profile picture in messages I get transferred to a contact which is not in my phone book, while if I click a correct profile picture in messages I get transferred to the proper contact.Â

So, how to get this to work correctly? Go back to factory settings is an option I guess but I'm worried the messages are synced somwhere so nothing will change by the time I come back.Â

I'd really be grateful to you if could help me out with this. I have got a locked Nokia N91. I went to a local mobile repair shop which claims to unlock branded phone. While it was being unlocked, the phone got some error for some unknown reason and now whenever I start my phone, all it says is ' phone start-up failed, contact the retailer' the repairer says the phone's IMEI is damaged which I have confirmed from various repair shops and would need some RPL file (which I haven't got any idea about) and since Nokia servers are down its not possible right now, he tells me to wait for a bit before the servers are up on the run again. I have no idea if its even true. All I want to know is Can My Phone really be Repaired? And if Yes whats the Criteria for doing so? And if i take my phone to Nokia repair shop. I am afraid they would not fix it since they haven't got a license to unlock branded phones.

Is there any way to back up the phone without actually using the disabled screen?

My phone was in the water for 1 or 2 seconds because I slipped and I fell into the pool. This was the first time my Z2 get in touch with water.I checked and the sound is bad now. Bad quality. I believe it needs to be repaired, right?

I am trying to recover the contact details from my son's 6700 classic, whilst being unable to see anything on the phone screen. I would like to connect the phone to Nokia PC suite and select the backup option to copy all the contact details to my PC. Unfortunately he has damaged the screen and nothing at all is showing.
What I would like to know therefore is exactly which buttons need to be pressed on the phone after the USB connector has been inserted to ensure that PC suite is selected; because at present although the phone is recognised by my PC, PC suite is reporting that a phone is not connected. I have successfully copied all Images etc from the phone (memory card?) but the only way I know to get at the contact data is via PC suite, unless of course anyone knows differently.

First off I have a Iphone 3gs that got water damage.Everything works now except the LCD screen. When the phone is on all i see is a blank white screen(no apple logo while turning it on), but i can slide to unlock the phone, play music, and hear the phone lock when the sleep button is pressed. I have replaced the LCD but am not sure that the new one was faulty or not. Also i placed the motherboard in 91% alcohol through out the night for any corrosion that i could not see. I am not sure if I should replace the LCD again or if it is connector 1 corroded or what.

I then left it in my car (in the heat) for a few hours and it turned on and was working.The only issue was, the keyboard wasn't functioning properly. It would type several letters on screen when I typed any single key.I opened it up and put isopropyl alcohol on it, upon closing the phone it was not working at all.When I plug it in, the red light turns on. (and stays on for quite some time) however the phone never turns on.

So I'm having a few problems with my iPhone. About 30 hours ago, I dropped my phone into a full sink. It was immersed for probably one or two seconds. I made the mistake of trying to turn it on right away, and it started spazzing - i.e. the startup apple icon screen would come on repeatedly and for a while the screen was flickering.
I looked online and followed people's advice of turning it off, letting the battery die, and leaving it in a cool place to dry. Since this morning the phone has been in a bag of rice drying off. I tried plugging it in tonight (impatiently) and to my delight the phone revived itself after charging for about half an hour. I synced it with my iTunes and sent one or two texts with no problems. But almost immediately my signal went down to no bars and I lost 3G connection.
Since then, it was displaying "Searching..." at the top of the screen, and got bursts of connection enough to receive two texts. Literally I would turn my phone on and all the bars would be there, along with 3G, then within a few seconds no bars again. For the last while it's just said "No Service."
I tried resetting the network settings to no avail, took the sim card out and cleaned it lightly with an eraser, nothing. When I go to "Carrier" under settings, it "searches" for, then finds (after a few minutes), my wireless network, but as soon as I leave the page my connection disappears again.
My question is- does anyone know if water damage can cause this particular kind of problem? Even though my phone is working perfectly otherwise (besides a somewhat mottled, water-spotted screen), is it possible that something within the phone was damaged that will not allow me to get a connection? Or could it be the sim card that is damaged?
I damaged my usb port on my Samsung galaxy s5 phone. Before getting it serviced, can I just purchase a wireless charging cover and pad and charge it that way? Since nothing is being plugged into the actual port, it should work right?

Or: Verifying mistakes in memory. It didn't showed me my music and photos and the cell phone asked me to format the card. I formatted it and it starts to work ok but after 2 or 3 days appears the same problem. Additionally the cellphones sometimes restart itself, even without I'm not using it. I have a BB 3G 9330 Curve, only got it about a mth ago. Was on vacation and accidentally let battery completely die, well once charged and restarted my screen is way too light! It looks like all my words are light grey instead of black, the photo's look like there faded out...they arn't though bc I've posted some of my photo's on FB and they are normal colored. Texts are too light to read unless I scroll over them.
