I've gone and seriously damaged my phone, the screen is completely smashed and unusable. All of my contacts were stored on the phone and not on the SIM card. How can I access or download the contacts?
View 2 RepliesI have bought in December a Storm 2 from Vodafone Spain.I am very unhappy with this phone. It is absolutely impossible to use: there is no way I can write messages, emails, scroll etc. It's a pain to try and scroll through the contacts list and make a phone call. The only thing I can do is just answer calls, like with any 10 euro phone.
I had it returned to Blackberry service but they said the touch screen works perfect! If this means perfect for RIM, then ......
Also Vodafone Spain is not willing to change it for a Bold (which is more expensive!). They just said the phone is RIM's responsibility and they just sell it.
So I am stuck with a completely unusable phone and a data plan that i cannot change.
I have tried to find an email on this support forums to which I can send my complaint to RIM. It is unacceptable that they market such a low quality product, and after sales service is so bad. I am really upset about this!
So I would like to ask if anyone has any idea how can I send my complaint to RIM.
My husband's iPhone 4S screen is damaged and we are trying to backup/sync before it goes for repair. iTunes prompting us to "Respond with iPhone to allow access", but we can't do this because the screen is damaged and there is no prompt to Trust this Computer on the phone screen. Is there any way to back up the phone without actually using the disabled screen?

After upgrading my Xperia Pro to ICS I have learned that My Tracks I have used a lot for route tracking does not operate in usable manner any more. It takes 15-17 minutes to really start recording a route after starting it. Under GB it took like 5 seconds (well, less than half a minute anyway). When ICS finally starts recording route, it has a lot of gaps, i.e. it misses major part of recorded route. GB did leave gaps to routes, too, but only after being up for a couple weeks. Under GB this could be fixed by rebooting the phone.
I turned from on Settings > Developer options > Show CPU usage for some time. Load averages shown never went below 8.Other things I have noticed: K-9 message scrolling is sluggish under ICS. It was smooth under GB.Same applies to Contacts scrolling. Video recording has lost stereo sound.how to make My Tracks working again under ICS? Or should I revert back to GB?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to recover the contact details from my son's 6700 classic, whilst being unable to see anything on the phone screen. I would like to connect the phone to Nokia PC suite and select the backup option to copy all the contact details to my PC. Unfortunately he has damaged the screen and nothing at all is showing.
What I would like to know therefore is exactly which buttons need to be pressed on the phone after the USB connector has been inserted to ensure that PC suite is selected; because at present although the phone is recognised by my PC, PC suite is reporting that a phone is not connected. I have successfully copied all Images etc from the phone (memory card?) but the only way I know to get at the contact data is via PC suite, unless of course anyone knows differently.

I have hundreds of contacts on my phone, alot of them can be deleted and I want to edit others. It would take a huge amount of time to attempt to do this on the phone, but would be much easier and quicker on my PC with a full size keyboard. When I connect phone to PC, I can only acess memory card. How do I access the contacts stored on the phone ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI had faced this issue when i last updated my phone when the 2.1 had come out.. I installed the latest Backup and Restore application as recomended by the SE update site.. Then backed up my files onto an already existing backup (which i think has corrupted the backup), hence overwriting the file.. After that i upgraded to 2.1 and restored my files, which failed because the contacts were not successfully imported (even though the Backup and Restore app said that the import was succesful.)
i was asked to repair the firmware using PC companion and hence want to backup succesfully without any problems. I cant risk loosing my contacts again. And i want to know from others in this forum if they have faced this issue on normal backup (not overwritten on an existing backup). [URL]
I pressed the contacts icon and the screen turned blue, as if to load my contacts then it turned back to the basic screen. I also I can't add any new contacts (if someone calls for example). It's just happened for no reason! I have just performed a software update, then turned the phone off, taken the battery and sim card out and put them back in. Turned the phone on - still not resolved!

When checking the online tutorial via AT&T's website it walks me through how to send a text message to someone in my contacts list from the text messaging screen. Once I start typing their name, it should start to automatically come up. When I try to do this on the phone, it won't do it. Do I really have to enter someone's phone number in order to do this? What if I want to add more than one person which is not an easy task either. I found where people are being told to download an app called Handcent SMS which will resolve the multiple people issue but what about accessing my contacts just by starting to type their name in the "To" line?

I just bought a xperia x10 mini pro in August. A week later I insert a 8gb memory card the cellphone showed me a message: Memory card SD damaged. Or: Verifying mistakes in memory. It didn't showed me my music and photos and the cell phone asked me to format the card. I formatted it and it starts to work ok but after 2 or 3 days appears the same problem. Additionally the cellphones sometimes restart itself, even without I'm not using it. The cellphone came with Android 1.6 and I updated to 2.1.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe update has made the wi-fi next to unusable. I have removed the Wi-Fi connection and re-entered it. Power cycled the phone, done a battery pull. Nothing fixes the issue. Try running a speed test it either fails consistently with "network communication failure" or the bandwidth is horrendous. I never had such issues before the update. The issue is not only at home even at work. I was wondering if others were seeing such abysmal performance. I have NEVER rooted my phone. I wish I had and switched to community ROM, they seem to be doing a better job than a corporation like Motorola. It seems to be stuck trying to upload info, but it isn't actually uploading. The internet connection was intermittant, and it seems as though it is clogged up with a back log. Now it wont work at all. No email, sms, and its stuck on desktop and unable to open any other pages.I have done a hard re boot several times but it remains the same. View 2 Replies View RelatedI was updating my Nokia C5-00 (RM-645) from Nokia Ovi Suite 3.1.1.90 (latest downloaded today). I was updating to latest release of 071.005. C5-00 battery was fully charged and I was updating through my laptop. Nokia Ovi suite downloaded firmware (some 128mb). while installing after some 4-5 min in the midway of installing it noticed "something wrong". It instructed me to remove micro usb from phone and reconnect it. I did like that again and again it gave same instructions and at last nothing happened.
Now my phone is switched off and it's not getting on... I can feel the vibration when I press Power on button but It's not working and even I tried (*+3+Green+Power on) button combition to reset, even that's also not working.. Now if I connect to Ovi suite, my phone is not ditected by Ovi suite. what I have to do now?
I installed the OTA update from Verizon tonight. Everything seemed to go smoothly until it got to the home screen and I tried to use it. At first none the screen was unresponsive. I tried pressing the bottons on the phone and it just causes the screen to go through some blanking process over and over. I got a couple of messages including one that said process system is not responding and a button to fc or wait.
I have done numerous battery pulls and restarted. I have also tried restarting without the sd card installed. All yeild the same result...The phone is completely ususable in it's current state.
Over the last week, when I try to open the calendar it loads the background with the search and add options but nothing else, then shuts the app off and returns to the home screen. When I double click the home button, it shows the calendar on the last event I looked at but when I open the calendar from there it is frozen on that screen before exiting the app again.Â

Had E71 for about 2 years now. Was fine. Then got a free E72 from the 3 network after fighting out an upgrade deal.Its arrived, got them to unlock it as part of the deal. Started to use. Its now become clear its close to unusable because of this issue.
You'll typing quickly and even happens if I type slowly, and it won't register the key press sometimes, like a little delay. So you have to backup to correct the missing letter. Its REALLY ANNOYING and making the phone unusable.Has Nokia acknowledged this problem? I'm going to be returning it to 3 and see if I can get them to swap it for a HTC Desire. I'm done with Nokia.
I have a Sony Z3 and out of the blue yesterday the touchscreen became completely unresponsive. I have restarted countless times (with power & volume up button), fully charged, given it 24 hours and have just tried a repair using Sony Bridge.
