I got my iPhone 4S brand new very recently, but when I plug my headphones into it, it continues to use the speaker's sounds (the speaker has been working completely normally). I tried two different headphones, the ones that came with it and my own. I am sure that I plugged them in all the way. Is there a hardware problem, or am I doing something wrong? What can I do to make the headphones work?

My iPhone no longer recognizes when I plug in headphones or any other external audio device. A software upgrade fixed this problem once, but the problem has come back and upgrades won't fix it. No matter what I plug into the headphone jack, audio continues to play out of the phone speakers. I'm outside of my warranty and not near an Apple store.

My volume doesn't work with or without headphones. When I try to turn up my volume the ringer shows but there isn't any white dots showing how high my volume is. When I watch a video, I can't slide my volume up because the bar isn't there. My volume will sometimes work and then stop in the middle of a song. also my phone will only ring sometimes when I receive a call. I can't listen to music with my headphones and I can't listen to music through my speakers. But when I use an iPod Dock through USB then my volume will work so I think phone jack is broken...

My Bold 9000 doesn't play music through the headphone jack, Whenever I play a song, it doesn't go through the headphones. Is there an option or something I need to choose, or should i go through the headphones automatically if there plugged in? Software is the newest 822 from AT&T.
View 11 Replies View RelatedMy bold 9900 doesnt play music through the headphones anymore, it just blasts it out. i have tried rebooting it and tried several pairs of headphones. when i plug them in, the icon flashes between the headset icon and the normal icon. i have also tried putting them in slowly and holding them in, but none of these work. I have only recently bought it and it has never been dropped or damaged.

Today when I tried to connect my wireless headphones, a pop-up message appeared telling me to first disconnect my wired headphones. The problem is that I had no wired headphones connected. I tried connecting/removing the wired headphones, rebooting, etc., but I am still unable to connect the wireless headphones.
As a FYI, this started to occur at the same time I received a message telling me to connect my device to receive an update, but when I connect to my computer I get a message that I am up to date.
Rather suddenly, plugging in my earbuds doesn't shut off external sound and enable the headphones. Thinking I'd screwed up a setting somewhere, I looked all over setup but cannot find anything to enable/disable. Is it me or my phone? Tried different players (I use winamp), different plugs. Did not reset the phone because I've spent considerable time loading and tweaking apps/settings/fonts etc and do not wish to lose all that.

When I go to settings -> connectivity and then select wifi, it searches connection for a while and then shows that none are found. Meanwhile, my old Nokia E72 remains connected to my home wifi without any problem... I am really surprised and disappointed. Also when I try to set up the connection manually, it doesn't work at all.I can't believe that such a device is being sold, a wifi connection is something extremely necessary nowadays in a smartphone. I just bought a iphone 3gs off my friend (i already knew of this defect), and he said it had a problem that it doesnt connect to the computer. When connected via multiple cables, all it does is vibrate and start charging. Does this mean the problem is just a broken pin or something in the 30pin dock connector? If it matters, it has been replaced by apple before, so i would say this is a refurb. How can i fix it? or even just how to enable wifi sync without being able to connect to itunes. Since I have updated my iPhone 4S to iOs 8.1.1 my car audio (using a usb cable) starts up and after that immediately says "onderbroken" (dutch word for disconnected)
When I start music using the touchscreen of the iPhone (which by law I am not allowed to do while driving) then the music will play normally over the car audio.
The car is a 6 months old Opel with built-in audio system nr. 650.
With iOs 7 it worked fine.

Iphone 3GS doesn't charge when I connect it to a network adapter or to a laptop. Only ocassionally, it gets connected indicating charging but it is unsystematic. The chargers I tried with work perfectly with others iPhones. If it may help, my iPhone was dropped couple of times. Also from my observations, I think sometimes the iPhone might charge while it shows no charging.

Running OS 3.0 jailbroke and unlocked on a 8 gig 3G. Using Cincy Bell. Phone doesnt connect with Edge much anymore, and some times when E is present, still no cell data network connection. Signal strength is g2g.Also, phone will launch Cydia, but shortly after boots out of the program. I respring, restart, turn off, power and home key combo no luck.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWe have two iPhone...both 4. Both are running the latest software. We both have the same issue. One is that frequently when you press the home button to escape an app it doesn't work. If you press the on/off button and then go back to the home button it may work, but not always. It takes repeated tries to get a response.
The second, and perhaps related, issue is that calls frequently do not connect. I can select a contact from either my favorites or the contact list. When I select the name the phone appears to be dialing. You hear the ring once, but no more and the call doesn't connect. Then you can't end the call to start over you have to wait for it to decide to end.
I don't know whether to restore both phones or not. We are thinking of visiting the Genius bar, but we're sure they will work perfectly there.
