Like others, I tried the software update, and then my phone constantly got stuck at the four little circles at start up. I followed some instructions I found on AndroidPit:
1. From a powered off state, press the Power button to start your Nexus 5. When you see the Google logo press and hold the Volume Down key and release when the device vibrates.
2. Use the volume keys to highlight Recovery Menu and press the Power button to select. This will bring you to a screen with an Android on its back.
3. Hold the Volume Up key for 5 secs then release and a new menu will appear.
4. First off, you can use the volume keys to select Wipe Cache Partition. This will cause your phone to restart. once this is done, re-do the previous steps to get back to the same screen (the one that Wipe Cache Partition was on).
5. Highlight Wipe Data/Factory Reset and select using the Power key. Scroll down to Yes, Delete All Data and press the Power button again to select.
6. Your Nexus 5 will now wipe your data and reformat.
7. On the next screen hit the Power button to select Reboot System Now.
It has been 40 minutes now and it's stuck on 'Formatting /data'. Is this normal?
I've only had this phone for a couple of months and it was functioning perfectly until now I haven't rooted it or anything.
I am stuck on boot screen.. I went into download mode but I keep getting stuck on Setup Connection when I try to flash the stock rom.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an IPhone 3g that was upgraded to ios4.0 it ran terrible and crashed a lot so I looked up how to downgrade. So I did a shift restore in itunes and put 3.1.3 on it and used reboot to reboot it. So it runs fine now but it wont restore so it lost everything that was on it pics photos etc. It says wont restore 4.0 back to 3.1.3 in itunes. I have tried upgrading back to 4.0 and even 4.0.1 and now they all fail and its stuck at 3.1.3. I am guessing I still have 4.0 base band with 3.1.3 firmware which is failing the upgrade check. This phone has never been jailbreak.
Things I have tried.
jailbreak 3.1.3 <- froze on the hard disk pic on the screen
jailbreak 4.0 <- said successful rebooted phone and nothing changed no cydia still at 3.1.3
hitting restore in itunes says wants to update and restore to 4.0.1 update fails.
hitting shift restore in itunes pointing to 4.0 iphone in dfu mode < restore fails
hitting shift restore in itunes pointing to 4.0.1 iphone in dfu mode < restore fails
hitting shift restore in itunes pointing to 3.1.3 iphone in dfu mode < restore fails

i was charging my phone via usb through my laptop and it suddenly went into white/grey screen with weird screen and so i pressed the home + power and went into recovery mode (itunes + usb logo). i tried to restore it and i keep on getting error 1600. after a few hours, the screen just went black and whenever i press home + power button, nothing happens. i went to a repair shop and a guy "shocked" the battery and there it went back to recovery mode. i tried to restore it again on dfu mode and still getting error 1600.
if i try it on restore mode, i will get error 21. what i did is i plug in the device, put it on recovery mode and then put it in dfu then restore and still error 1600 ---- googleed and Internetd so,me videos until i saw a video to change the host file and downloaded it and then boom --- it was fixed! while i was fixing my newly repaired iphone 4 version 5.1 -- all of a sudden it went to restarted then went into recovery mode. after a few hours again, it went to dfu mode and i went to the repair shop to shock the battery but that didn't work until now. i can't get my phone to restore mode even if i press the home + power button. stuck on dfu mode.i have a saved shsh for 5.0.1 and 5.1 -- so i built a custom firmware with snowbreeze and ifaith but i keep on getting error 3014, 1600, 1601, 1608 on restoring it.

I connected my 3gs to itunes today and after it asked for a 5.1 upgrade, I clicked Ok to start the process. The download of the 5.1 completed but the process failed while applying it to my phone with an error message. Now my phone is stuck without an OS and is neither getting detected by iTunes or would it start on its own

I got a new iphone 4s, the first thing I did was jailbreaking and installing my favorite expensive apps as usual. After about a week i had already downloaded about 25,000 dollars worth of apps (I have a 64 gbs iPhone 4s, which was a beautiful gift) Then it suddenly crashed and it wouldn't do anything. I removed the jailbreak by restoring and took it to an apple store and told them what just happened (without the jailbreak part) and they fixed it. But now my phone wont get 3g and will stick on edge.

I used "erase media" selection to clear my phone to start over It rebooted and I went through the English, US, Network, etc, etc Then I connected to my computer to restore from iTunes backup, that's when it happened:during restore iphone began cycling on and off at the "slide to unlock" screen, then to the clock circle, then back again "slide to unlock" will not work either the phone will not turn off either, holding the power button does nothing holding home + power button finally turns it off, took it to apple store, they restored it got back home to again restore it from iTunes back up and it started it Hard reboot gave me the iTunes plug in screen once, but not any more I had deleted all the iphone updates on the computer and started over, still cycling it finally quit when the battery died Win XP Pro, iPhone 3gs 16g, iTunes 10 what's going on and how to get over it?

My Daughter's iPhone 4 has locked up (not with a passcode - I mean NOTHING works) in Camera app. The Screen looks like it is VERY slowly fading out but the home key won't do anything and when I hold the power button down nothing happens. It is stuck. Is there some sort of control-alt-delete function I can try to get it to shut off and maybe reset itself.
(As a side note, this has been happening with all 3 of our iPhone 4 or 4s devices in the Camera app. but usually we are able to get the device to shut down and it boots back up fine.)
I have an IPhone 5 that I got in the winter of 2012. It's running iOS 7.1.2. The past couple of months it has been connecting very slowly to Verizon's network (both 3G and LTE). No problem with WiFi. Eventually, I went to the Apple Store to have it examined. After inspection, the technician reset the network settings on the phone. It was fine for a while. Then in the past two weeks the phone remained stuck on 3G. It would not connect to LTE at all. I had Verizon replace the SIM card twice and reset the network settings. Each time the phone was able to connected to the LTE network fine. And then a few days later it dropped to 3G. Â

I have an iPhone 5s that was running 7.1.1. I updated to 7.1.2 and now it's been stuck on the black screen with the white apple logo with the status bar almost half way through for almost an hour. This was done over the air - it's plugged in and wifi is on - do I just leave it alone?Â
