My iPhone 4 has cracked 3 different backs from overheating while charging. What else can I do? I'm not due for an upgrade and at this point not sure if I want another iPhone.

I've had my One for about 4-6 months now. Just recently on my last few charges my phone would become really hot and GSam would say the battery was at around 130F with no increase in charge...I'm using the stock wall charger socket with an HTC mytouch cable (because it's longer than the stock cable).

I had to charge my phone and when on or off it wouldn't charge due to overheating. My battery drained and again tried to charge with no luck, but this time instead of the normal charge battery display it showed a red exclamation mark in the middle with a red light at the top of the phone. I have tried everything: Power and volume down button, reboot, factory reset and still same message when charging.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter I updated my phone to new version of android(5.1.1 build 546) my phone charge slowly and it's overheating. It's Temperature increase to 67 Centigrade. So I did software repair with pcc and after phone started I did factory reset.but again it's overheating. Phone is new and it doesn't have hardware issue. Furthermore, it charges slowly.only 10% every hour.

Ambient temperature : 25-30Â centigrade

My phone's battery overheats more often each day and because of that, when I plug the charger, it keeps discharging, at this point I have to turn off the device, take out the battery, wait for it to cool down and then re assemble it and plug the charger again.Did my battery reach its limit?. What can cause this effect?. Does overcharge cause this kind of malfunctions?. Do I have to buy a new battery or a new phone?
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since using the 8.1 dev preview, I noticed something odd about the photo sizes up my camera roll folder on OneDrive. I currently have my backup settings for "best quality (wi-fi only)" for pictures (videos are not backed up). However, ALL photo sizes are around 10 MB, and the dimensions confirm that it is the hi-res 38 MP shots being backed up, not the 5 MP oversampled photos. This never happened prior to the 8.1 preview.

I really cant be without my phone so my options are:
1. Send to apple, $199 plus $29 for a pre replacement.
2. Buy an old ebay 2g or 3g phone as a backup while mine is fixed then sell it on ebay.
3. Get an early upgrade for $399 and sell my cracked one on ebay.
4. Any other options?

Honestly I've never been so disappointed about a product. When I go to crop a picture, the screen goes black, gets really hot, and then shuts off.
So tonight I go to crop a picture, keeping in mind only some pictures don't crop, and the phone does its thing, shuts off, and.. Cracks.

I cracked my 3G screen last week. It was my first time dropping since buying it on day one. I had it in my lap (which i normally never do) while driving and it fell flat on its face when i was getting out. I've already ordered a replacement glass and digitizer since the phone still works perfectly. My problem is that I can now see dust specks accumulating under the glass. I brought it into at and t today and they said i was not eligible for a warranty replacement because it only covers manufacturing problems. I dropped my iPhone as I was cleaning it off. The LCD screen is cracked and it now has these dark lines going across. How much is it to replace it? Would it be cheaper since I have an old 3GS screen that is in perfect condition? My iPhone 5 screen has been cracked for a few weeks but worked fine. Yesterday the screen went black but Siri still worked. When I plugged it in to charge, it started beeping as if i were constantly unplugging it then plugging it back in. At first the screen would light up even though it was black but now the screen wont light up at all. I ordered a new screen to replace it but now I am thinking that it is more than the screen. I plugged it in to my computer and it doesn't recognize it at all. Use the same cord to plug it back in to the wall and it starts beeping again.

So i ended up purchasing another LCD Display and changed it all out myself, however, my screen has lines going through the screen and it is not responding to my touch, I think that it has something to do with the connecters for the screen because sometimes I might be able to see the wallpaper and then sometimes the screen will be white with the lines going through it.

i need to confirm how to go ahead and replace it .
When i use 3G my phone gets so hot that i can't even hold it.
When i use 3G my Battery goes down at a very fast rate in 1 hrs it can go to 100% to 5%.
If i use my phone normally it works fine i can get a good battery backup of arnd 7-9 hrs but if i use 3G around 1.5 - 2.0 Hrs.
When the phone on 3G it gets so hot that i have to leave it for around 30 minutes so i can use it .. to which i doubt it might damage some hardware also .
This is running iOS 5.01. I have tried to Restore it back but its still the same.
I would request if you guys can help me ..
Awaiting a positive reply from your end .. , I need to get this done ASAP.

The phone just suddenly got hot this morning on the way home from my shift While I was listening to music.
I've turned it off, at which it obviously cools down. Then it gets red hot within minutes of being switched back on.

Ok. So my lock button stopped working on my iPhone 4 yesterday. It was 'sticky' (not clicking very well) for a few hours now it ceases to even work.
I also have a cracked screen (which occured 3 months ago now) that I tried to get replaced. Unfortunately they weren't happy that day or something and didn't grant me the one time free replacement that they seem to be giving out everywhere else. Anyway, so I decided not to pay the $180 because the crack isn't too big and it doesn't stretch too far onto the actual LCD screen.
So my question is... If I go to the Apple store regarding the lock button, will they deny me a free replacement because the screen is cracked and they will just pin the blame on that? I am still within the one year warranty too.
Also, for future reference, does a cracked screen void the free warranty replacement for any problems encountered, whether it be hardware, software or mechanically related?

I have the Iphone 4s, my screen has been cracked since 2 months after i got it in November 2011, 3 days ago my lock button started acting funny, now it is completely stuck. I went to apple store today and they will NOT replace it because the screen is cracked and the damage could have affected the button. How could all of a sudden a cracked screen make a button stuck completely? I have read alot of reviews about how some apple techs will replace your phone, and others make you pay the 200$ to get a new one. Why should i have to pay 200$ for something that is apples error?
