i just bought a macbook pro yesterday and my iPhone has gotten a bit greasy, i was wondering is it ok to use the screen wipe that i got with my MBP on my iPhone 3GS? I thought because it's touch screen i might not be able to?
What about the cloth that came with my iMac?
I have an Iphone 3G that Im selling.
The only problem is that the screen is broken, it wont slide to unlock so I am unable to put in the passcode in so I can restore it and wipe it on Itunes. The lock button is very, very selective to. More than 99% of the time it doesnt work, actually. The only thing that seems to work is the home button.
As you know, because I am unable to put in the passcode my computer refuses to read it, so I cannt go in and manually delete everything myself.
Is there any other way to completely wipe it? Or am I screwed?
Ii did a master clear to wipe out contacts and info on iphone 3g and it said about an hour and it never came back on just an apple appears and it doesnt come up in itunes to restore?

I dropped my phone and cracked the screen and now the screen is all black. I went through insurance and received my new phone. I've deactivated the old phone and activated my new phone. I've been reading other responses for a similar problem but it seems like most of them have not activated the new phone yet and were able to wipe the phone using the Android Device Manager. Since I've already activated my new phone, if I use ADM it finds my new phone and not my old phone.
Is there a way to wipe the data off of the old phone with a broken screen after I've already activated my new phone?
I wiped my Samsung G5's cache in an effort to speed it up, and after reset all applications crash (I get Report/OK) button options, and the screen is black. Nothing else is happening. I rebooted, I wiped cache again, and nothing. The phone is rooted with Android 5.0 on it, touchwiz.

This is ridiculous. iTunes asked me if I want to update the iPhone OS to 5.1.1, so I said yes, and then it said there was an "unknown error." Now the screen shows a graphic of a USB cord pointing to iTunes. When I plug into iTunes again it says "iPhone is in recovery mode" and then tells me all the settings are going to be wiped out.

My 3GS was stolen this morning so I set up a Remote Wipe using Find My iPhone. Turns out a neighborhood kid stole it and, luckily, his parents brought it back to me. As soon as I turned it on, the Remote Wipe started. Now, it's stuck on the Apple logo and isn't responding (won't reboot, iTunes doesn't see it, won't go into DFU mode). The Remote Wipe didn't complete.I am *NOT* a thief! This really happened. I have a good reputation on a couple other forums where I post more often and I can post a photo of my purchase receipt from June 2009 if someone tells me how. don't have Edge or 3G data service. I use my 3GS over Wifi. I thought this might be the problem, but the instructions to start remote wipe came to the phone over Wifi, so it should be able to continue over wifi.
Q: Has anyone experienced this type or problem or heard about it?
Q: Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

- screen went black
- Apple logo appeared
- empty white progress bar box appeared under Apple logo, but no progress bar started or went accross it
- white progress bar box disappeared
- spin wheel appeared superimposed over Apple logo, but did not spin
CURRENT STATUS
- for the past 4 hours, the steps above keep repeating, minus the empty progress box
- every few minutes it starts over again with the black screen
- 3 seconds later, the Apple logo pops up
- about a minute later the spin wheel shows up on top of the Apple logo and doesn't spin
- after a while the screen flashes black again and this process repeats

Is it possible for a stolen iPhone be identified after restore? An iPhone has a series number, I assume iTunes would be able to identify this number somehow. Can anything be done on this front?

i am just testing this on the domain and i have cofngured my ipad and iphone to download emails from the exchange. I have also installed the MobileAdmin plugin as we have exchange 2003. When i get into the website i can find my devices assinged to my account and i have started a wipe which i am told has been accepted by the device. Im having trouble using facetime between my IPhone4 and my macbook... When I call from my macbook to my IPhone 4, the call goes through but never connects... (iphone display), while on my mac, the call keeps ringing.On the other hand... when I call from my IPhone4 to my mac... the call drops and displays a message (user busy / not available for facetime). When I use fecetime from my IPhone 4 to call friends either to there IPads, IPhones and macīs, the call goes through with out a problem... the same thing using my mac... Could it be the im trying to use the same user ID between my IPhone and mac?, I have my IPhone for facetime under my cel number, and my mac under my email. (Different User ID)...
