IPhone 3GS :: Stuck On Remote Wipe - How To Fix?
Jan 13, 2010My 3GS was stolen this morning so I set up a Remote Wipe using Find My iPhone. Turns out a neighborhood kid stole it and, luckily, his parents brought it back to me. As soon as I turned it on, the Remote Wipe started. Now, it's stuck on the Apple logo and isn't responding (won't reboot, iTunes doesn't see it, won't go into DFU mode). The Remote Wipe didn't complete.I am *NOT* a thief! This really happened. I have a good reputation on a couple other forums where I post more often and I can post a photo of my purchase receipt from June 2009 if someone tells me how. don't have Edge or 3G data service. I use my 3GS over Wifi. I thought this might be the problem, but the instructions to start remote wipe came to the phone over Wifi, so it should be able to continue over wifi.
Q: Has anyone experienced this type or problem or heard about it?
Q: Any ideas on how to fix this problem?
PHONE INFOS: 3GS, 3.0.1, jb with RedSn0w, not unlocked WHAT HAPPENED
- remote wipe initiated
- screen went black
- Apple logo appeared
- empty white progress bar box appeared under Apple logo, but no progress bar started or went accross it
- white progress bar box disappeared
- spin wheel appeared superimposed over Apple logo, but did not spin
CURRENT STATUS
- for the past 4 hours, the steps above keep repeating, minus the empty progress box
- every few minutes it starts over again with the black screen
- 3 seconds later, the Apple logo pops up
- about a minute later the spin wheel shows up on top of the Apple logo and doesn't spin
- after a while the screen flashes black again and this process repeats

Jun 11, 2012Got my iPhone stolen. The person turned it off right away. So far it has been offline. I have been sending messages and locking commends through iCloud.com, but have not chosen the remote wipe option yet.
Is it possible for a stolen iPhone be identified after restore? An iPhone has a series number, I assume iTunes would be able to identify this number somehow. Can anything be done on this front?

Mar 17, 2012i am just testing this on the domain and i have cofngured my ipad and iphone to download emails from the exchange. I have also installed the MobileAdmin plugin as we have exchange 2003. When i get into the website i can find my devices assinged to my account and i have started a wipe which i am told has been accepted by the device. Now my iPad has a black screen and a busy icon (circle of lines) as if it's doing something, but it's been going for 30minutes so far. How long does it take roughly (iPad2 16gb) Also is there anyway to stop a user from Jailbreaking there company owned iPad apart from contracts and disclaimers etc...

According with some web pages (I didn't verified thru specs), E71 has a "Remote Wipe" feature.It works by remote locking and after that, trying 5 passwords, with no luck.I tested, and E71 only says "Too many retries, the phone will be unlocked in 5 minutes" or something like that (the message is in Spanish, so the real English message vary).But, after trying with too many passwords, the phone does not self-wipe.So This feature is for real? Unfortunately when I receive the lock SMS on my S60 device it does not work. The message arrives as a normal SMS; it is possible to read its content as in case of normal short text messages.What could be the problem? Can you help me to figure it out?

Oct 27, 2015I'm performing a simple mod for a mate of mine on his S6 (Sm-G920F), which he bought unlocked, but is using on EE. Wifi calling isn't enabled on non EE Firmwares, which has cropped up a few times on here, but it's easy enough to enable.
Basically I rooted the phone (no pingpong for it yet so used CF-Autoroot via odin), and I edited system/csc/others.xml to include the line - <CscFeature_Setting_SupportWifiCall>TRUE</CscFeature_Setting_SupportWifiCall> then enabled Wifi Calling in the phone app settings
This worked like a charm, sent my mate his phone back and all is right in the world...UNTIL he calls me saying that he want's to use a particular paid sport streaming service which detects his phone is rooted and blocks access.
Now I like a challenge, and it doesn't sound beyond the wit of man so I get the device back and try a few things...
1) Remove root via Super SU, rip the unrooted recovery and cache img files from the stock firmware, create my own md5 and flash via Odin.... Flashes but bootloops
2) Flash the stock firmware, create a flashable zip containing a modified others.xml, boot into recovery, flash update via adb... Flashes but bootloops
3) Download the stock EE firmware...Won't flash from Odin
4) Scour the web for a non rooted S6 ROM with Wifi Calling enabled.. So far no joy!
I reckon I must have missed something, any alternate way to enable Wifi Calling or an "Unroot" method that doesn't require a total wipe?

About 75% of the time after attempting to turn on the WiFi the phone will reboot. I have factory reset the phone and the WiFi and Bluetooth will work once after the reset but once the phone sleeps neither WiFi nor Bluetooth will operate. This is even after a power down. Mar 22, 2012All of the sudden, my iphone4 won't connect to the wifi at work. My computer is connecting to wifi with no problem. The signal appears to be strong.
There is no error message. When I select the network, the check mark that normally appears, does not, and there is a constant spinning and spinning in its place.
I did choose "Forget this network" and rebooted the iphone, and tried again, but am having the same result.

I can get on wifi with no problem. Anyone know what could have happened. My wifes phone is also doing the same thing. We are running the 4.3.5
I tried to update and restore the phone but it will not do it.
Edit: my mother in law just came by and I got on her iphone 3gs, her phone is doing the same thing. Att says there is no problem with their network.

Apr 10, 2012In my village there is a wifi installed that runs under a proxy with autentication: every user has his router at home and connects to the "general" wifi through a proxy with an username and password. I configure the wifi as follows: Wi-Fi --> Select the wifi --> I select Manual Proxy HTTP --> I type the server and port, enable authentication and type the username and password. Now, when I open Safari, I can navigate without problem. However, Safari is the only application that works: I cannot read my mail through the generic Mail application, nor enter in Facebook application, Twitter, Skype and so on. However, I can enter, for example, into Facebook through Safari.
I guess that not all the applications of the device run using the proxy enabled in the Wi-Fi options but the should, shouldn't them?
