Huawei Nexus 6P :: Camera Crashes When Switching Between Slow-motion Modes
Nov 28, 2015Just got my phone and it is completely stock. When using the video camera and switching between slow-motion modes (normal, 120 FPS & 240 FPS) the camera app crashes and I get the error message "Can't connect to the camera".
Then the camera wont work, no matter the app I use, that uses the camera. After a reboot it works again though.
Sometimes it crashes the first time I've changed the mode to 240, sometimes after cycling through the modes a bit, but it always happen and it wont many cycles (1-3). I've recorded functional 240 FPS videos, so that part works.
I've tried starting the phone in safe mode and deleting cache partition, with the same result.
There are others with the same problem, but it doesn't seem to be a common error. Is it a software problem or hardware, and is RMA the only option?

Apr 26, 2011Is there a way to restore this function? The only setting is "Auto" and when trying to check for other modes, a message says this camera does not support those functions. Why? They were supported under OS 5 in the same phone?Also, the camera shots are not nearly as nice as the older 8330.

Apr 30, 2015I can't get any of the camera modes to download, the status bar will go black for a couple of seconds then a loading box flashes up then disappears. I've tried clearing the camera and galaxy apps caches and rebooting but the problem still persists.

Dec 13, 2015Today I flashed CM13 on my Nexus6P and it all worked fine until I tried starting the camera, which gave me the error mentioned in the title. Restarting the phone and erasng the app's data didn't work either.Also everytime I boot my phone it shows me an "your device is corrupted" screen (not the boot loader unlocked screen) and when the phone starts it shows me something like "there's a problem with your phone, it might not work properly".Is this my fault or is it a CM13 issue and how do I fix it? (I'm using today's official CM13 build with Open Gapps Mini arm64 for android 6.0)

I have checked that it's not an issue with the screen by opening a white background pic, also checked that the camera glass is clean.

It is still locked I haven't unlocked the bootloader or even rooted the device yet... literally got it yesterday.

Nov 8, 2015I find the camera takes darker pictures, especially in low light, compared to Note 5 (underexposed perhaps? Not a photography buff at all . Also, the snapping pictures in general seems to be slower vs. Note 5.
I currently have both 6p and Note 5 and truly find the Note 5 to have an all-around better camera. 6p but bad by any means, but tough comparing to Note 5.

Jan 22, 2016I used to to be able to double tap to open camera and now it doesn't do anything at all. My power button to lock option in security is off. I'm on stock with elemental x kernel, with xposed. Idk if I accidentally enabled an option or disabled something in ex elemental kernel manager or limited a service in amplify that I shouldn't have.
And yes the double tap for camera is enabled in my settings and I cleared defaults too for the stock camera but nothing....
