Running 6.01, traditionally rooted using the M boot image and SU beta. Everything works fine, except my camera app and flashlight. Camera will either FC, just stay black and not function, or just be black and a white circle x. Flashlight button will turn white but the light doesn't come on. Uninstalled and reinstalled. No change....
View 4 RepliesJust got a brand new Nexus 6P yesterday, camera was working fine. Woke up this morning and the camera produces a black screen. Cleared camera data, cache, updated, tried third party apps, then performed a factory reset. All to no avail.
It is still locked I haven't unlocked the bootloader or even rooted the device yet... literally got it yesterday.
So I got my Nexus 6P yesterday and the first thing I did was unlock the bootloader and root. However I just noticed this morning that I no longer have access to the camera. If I open the camera app it just shows a black screen with the camera symbol in the middle and Snapchat just gives me a black screen. The only things I have done were u lock bootloader, Root and I changed my DPI to 400. I've tried reboots and clearing data/cache from both Snapchat and my camera app with no success.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have noticed the screen not turning on occasionally when phone is unlocked. This only seems to happen in the car when connected to BT, and phone is set in the holder. I can still make a call via car's BT dialer, but even then the screen wont come on.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOkay, so there is no screen protector or anything. Not rooted or unlocked or tampered in any way. I've had the phone for 26 hours and then the following happened:

I pulled the phone out of my pocket to unlock it. I see the lock screen and put in my pin (yes, I see the actual screen and stuff on it. Let me make that clear.) after I enter my pin successfully the screen locks itself. I contacted Google support and they said to factory reset it. I did the full factory data reset in the recovery mode (again, the screen works. I can see everything to do a FDR and I can see the boot animation) and it starts to boot up. Once I see the "welcome" screen it instantly locks itself.
I can hear the audible "latch" locking sound that it makes when you press the power button. I know the buttons are not malfunctioning because they work perfectly fine in bootloader / recovery mode to scroll up and down and select things. I've tried multiple things but nothing seems to work. The problem here is that I want to try and do a factory image but my computer will NOT recognize my Nexus 6P when in recovery mode / bootloader mode. I have all the drivers installed but since I can't access the OS and enable OEM UNLOCKING there is no way to factory flash a factory image is there? Again, I can NOT access the OS at all whatsoever.
If I make a call as soon as I press to dial the screen goes black and I can't reactivate it unless the person in the other end hangs up, so if it goes to voice mail I have to restart my device, if the person hangs up I have to double tap the power button to wake it up but that activates the camera, that's the only way I'm able to do it.
Fully stock and up to date firmware
Do your Nexus 6P screen go black during a call. Mine does on every call. My display settings is set for 1-minute. I call Huawei support. The lady says that the screen is suppose to go and stay off during a call. Never heard of that from a phone. You cannot respond or do anything during the call.

View 10 Replies View RelatedSo I tried to root my 6P with the Nexus Root toolkit , first I unlocked the bootloader, that went well . After that I tried to root it but my build number wasn't there (MDB08L) So I researched if that would be a problem and a couple of people said they followed the same instructions as with the MDB08K build and it worked just fine on theirs so I proceeded.
I selected the "any build" from the options on the toolkit and it seemed to be going well, I followed the instructions , flashed the files on twrp and from there I rebooted and it got stuck on a bootloop... :/ so then I tried to use the toolkit to fix the bootloop and selected the MDB08K and after it ran and finished it isn't exactly bootlooping but it is now stuck on the black Google logo and does nothing ...
when I open my camera it shows only camera logo and the shot button at the bottom. it happned on stock and I am now on purenexus and the same. what can I do. (its not hardware because camera is working after few seconds when restart and than its crashes)

Okay so I recorded some really cool slow motion shots. I can go into the edit screen and select the exact spot the slow motion should be. But when I go to send/post it the the video is completely in slow motion. Nothing in normal speed at all.

Restarting the phone and erasng the app's data didn't work either.Also everytime I boot my phone it shows me an "your device is corrupted" screen (not the boot loader unlocked screen) and when the phone starts it shows me something like "there's a problem with your phone, it might not work properly".Is this my fault or is it a CM13 issue and how do I fix it? (I'm using today's official CM13 build with Open Gapps Mini arm64 for android 6.0)

It does this every time even after multiple restarts. I have tried downloading multiple different camera apps as well however it only opens the front camera and has no option to switch to the rear one. I am running 6.0.1

I currently have both 6p and Note 5 and truly find the Note 5 to have an all-around better camera. 6p but bad by any means, but tough comparing to Note 5.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI used to to be able to double tap to open camera and now it doesn't do anything at all. My power button to lock option in security is off. I'm on stock with elemental x kernel, with xposed. Idk if I accidentally enabled an option or disabled something in ex elemental kernel manager or limited a service in amplify that I shouldn't have.
And yes the double tap for camera is enabled in my settings and I cleared defaults too for the stock camera but nothing....
I have tried deleting days and everything. Running pure nexus....

I know there are alternative camera apps that have the option enabled however I prefer the stock camera app due to its quality and functionality with the 6P...Just wondering if there were any mods, apps, editing tricks or work arounds to prevent android from reversing photos taken with the front facing camera.. Its pretty inconvenient to manually edit and flip them myself.
