Huawei Nexus 6P :: Can't Make Change To Obb Folder
Dec 22, 2015
I'm trying to make changes to the Android/obb folder but it just fails. I tried three different root explorer and nothing seems to work. It has rw rw r permissions. Is it because of systemless root ?
I'm trying to delete the audio conf file in system/vendor/etc but it won't let me. I'm rooted and running Pure Nexus. Also when I go into the recovery and try to use the file manager it doesn't show me any files in that folder even though there are files in there. I just updated the Rom the other day.
I am using Windows 10. I have installed the latest Google USB drivers - downloaded and installed from here: [URL] ..... When I plug in, my device is detected, which proves that the drivers are installed.
1) When I touch the Photo Transfer option (PTP), I only get the DCIM and Pictures folder. If I open the DCIM folder, I see thumbnails of all my images. Some thumbnails show the actual image as well. However, when I open them, I get the following error: [URL] .....
2) When I touch the File Transfer option (MTP), I can open the DCIM folder, and I can see all the thumbnails, but I get the same error as above. [URL] .....
In short, I am unable to open any JPEG files created by my Nexus 6P camera on my laptop. I copied the JPEGs to my Desktop, and I tried to open the files, and surprise - I am STILL getting the SAME error!
The error is "Windows cannot find "". Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."
I am able to open TEXT files, and other audio files from my device. It's only the images I have this error with.
I am having issues with calling and receiving calls, I am able to send SMS and go on the web, but not able to call or receive calls, I've done a factory reset , cleared the phone cache...
I do what I normally do which is go into the system UI media folder and delete the camera click sound after rooting. However this time even with those files completely deleted the camera app still make the shutter sound. Is it like OEM camera apps now where the sound is built into the app and it's not using the folder sound anymore?
It's weird. I'm not talking about DND. Seems as though every time I put ringer on vibrate it reverts back to sound after a while. Same with the media volume. I don't get it?!?!?
I'm having issues with DPI change, I used ADB to change the DPI using a simple adb shell wm density 460 && adb reboot, all good, only issue is a few things are.. weird.. For instance the "top apps" icon, little blue thinggy in the playstore is awkwardly big, it's larger then the font, but I didn't use the phone stock so I don't know if that's just how marshmallow is or if that's a dpi problem. I also noticed when loading The Sims FreePlay, the EA boot logo it extremely over scanned, the letters EA barely fit on the screen, the eBay app, the user display picture is cut off and only shows the bottom right corner on an icon that's huge and again over sized, as well as snapchat sending all of my snaps with extremely small font, yet on my screen before sending they look just fine.
So after looking into this further, the build.prop was never changed, it still says dpi 560, but I know for system files I need to mount /system in order to write to it without root. So I booted to recovery as that allows me write access to system, mounted system, says mounted /system at the bottom of the log, open adb, run adb devices, nothing comes up, it's not found, reboot phone, run adb devices, works fine. What's the deal? I can't get the 6p to work from recovery when mounting /system, it says it's mounted but on the computer end nothing is happening.
I also want to keep this phone as stock as possible, kind of a purist douche bag like that so I don't want to run TWRP, or at least I'm not committed to this DPI change being this important that I want a custom recovery.why I can't mount /system in the stock recovery? or rather, why I can mount it but why it's not working?
Best rooting method? I don't need to change the ROM, but the precious root method doesnt seem to have survived a reboot. (I used CFAutoroot). Is it necessary to change recovery maybe that's why I had issue?
Su wm size 1080x1920 it brings the error that I can't change while system is running is there a work around? How do I send a script if the system is turning off?
Just as the title says, I tried messing with the dpi, went from 400 to 480, all of them cause chrome to go into tablet mode with the tiny tabs/buttons at the top of the screen. I'm using the PureNexus rom.
Gmail app doesn't allow me to click some embedded links and some links are just plain text and not highlighted/underlined in blue making them clickable.
I am thinking of keeping my phone stock given (Android Pay, Security Updates, Work requirements for email/messages). Is there any way to update the hosts file without unlocking the bootloader and installing TWRP? I just want to get rid of the ads as they are soo annoying for non-donate/IAP/Pro-version apps.
I followed the instructions on this archived reddit post with my nexus 6p. "How to change the trigger word for google now" (no direct link because I am too new.) I cannot seem to get it working.
I have tried systematically switching on and off options in AutoVoice, e.g., "run in foreground" and "alternative method", and substituting other apps in place of "VoiceSearchActivity" in Tasker, e.g., "DspHotwordVoiceSearchActivity", but no luck. The hardware and up-to-date Google Now app in my nexus 6p should be compatible with this method.
I am loving my 6P, but I almost drop it all the time trying to reach across the screen and hit the back button while holding the phone one handed.
I think this wouldn't be nearly as much of a problem if I could move the back button to the far right position (this is where I had it on my G3 and it was soo much more comfortable to use).
Are there any root/non-root/modifications I can use to rearrange the buttons?
I have the bootloader unlocked and would happily root if it would enable the ability to move the buttons
I know Xposed add-ons will add this functionality eventually, but that could be at least a few weeks/months away.
So I received the new Fi Sim card as the one in my nexus 6 wasnt compatible with the Nexus 6p. Went through the activation etc and I receive calls on wifi but not make calls on wifi or cellular, data is brutally slow. Waiting to hear back from Google on this.
As per the title is there a way to make the folder accept more applications? Hate clutter on my screen I like one folder for Apps and one for Games but there seems to be a limit of how many the folder accepts
hey m using nokia x3-02..........i want to save my msgs as diff folder in archive msg as jokes,,,,inspirational....etc....but not able to find how to make subfolder in archive msg to distinguish my msg....
Instructions on how to verify absence of this feature
- send an sms to any test number - go to SENT Folder - Try to make a CALL to the recipient (I did not find any option, If u do, please enlighten me)
Well, This has to be a basic feature of a smart phone (infact, any phone) if there is a number being displayed on the screen ... USER CAN MAKE A CALL TO IT.
But unfortunately NOKIA has failed to provide this BASIC FUNCTION.
Is there any hope of getting this BASIC feature in next update?
I have N95 v 31.0,017. How I can make a folder in SD card contain pictures &video and I dont want them appear in studio.
