Dec 24, 2015I am trying to customize the notification LED per app. I've tried 3 tools to achieve this but I am not having success. Both GravityBox and XBlast tools would let me change the colour, but it would never work. All my notifications were still white. Even when I "previewed" the notification light, it would still be white. I also tried light flow, but only a couple of notification lights would show (those were some of the predefined settings). Are there specific hex values I have to use to get it to work? I really want to get this to work ....

Nov 22, 2015I'm looking to get a Nexus 6P, but I'll be using it for around two years (give or take, depending on what devices I can choose from in two years), and I've heard that AMOLED burn-in may become prevalent within a year or so. For some probably won't notice, even I probably wouldn't if I didn't find out that burn in exists, but I'm paranoid, so I'm thinking to use GMD's Hide Nav Bar (Root) app that I've been using on my Nexus 4 (for the sake of extra screen real-estate).
I'm wondering if this will minimize and effectively prevent burn-in of the Nav/Status bars? My main concern is the Nav bar, as Samsung's devices don't have them, making burn-in far less of an issue.

Dec 10, 2015Are there any mods that allow it? There were a few that don't work with MM so I am looking for an alternative.Would be nice if Google defaulted to that instead of the solid black bar. I can do it from within my music player app. It just fills the screen more and makes it look classier in my opinion.I'd even go for an almost transparent navbar as well.

Nov 16, 2015So never had this problem on another phone before. I noticed a couple times this week where I doing something on the phone, and look up and my clock is like 15 min (or whatever) behind. Not sure if it's related but it seems to happen when I lose connectivity in so much as everything says I'm connected to WIFI or LTE but no data is moving. I'll have to keep an eye for that one but the time thing has me concerned.

Dec 29, 2015I'm having issues with DPI change, I used ADB to change the DPI using a simple adb shell wm density 460 && adb reboot, all good, only issue is a few things are.. weird.. For instance the "top apps" icon, little blue thinggy in the playstore is awkwardly big, it's larger then the font, but I didn't use the phone stock so I don't know if that's just how marshmallow is or if that's a dpi problem. I also noticed when loading The Sims FreePlay, the EA boot logo it extremely over scanned, the letters EA barely fit on the screen, the eBay app, the user display picture is cut off and only shows the bottom right corner on an icon that's huge and again over sized, as well as snapchat sending all of my snaps with extremely small font, yet on my screen before sending they look just fine.
So after looking into this further, the build.prop was never changed, it still says dpi 560, but I know for system files I need to mount /system in order to write to it without root. So I booted to recovery as that allows me write access to system, mounted system, says mounted /system at the bottom of the log, open adb, run adb devices, nothing comes up, it's not found, reboot phone, run adb devices, works fine. What's the deal? I can't get the 6p to work from recovery when mounting /system, it says it's mounted but on the computer end nothing is happening.
I also want to keep this phone as stock as possible, kind of a purist douche bag like that so I don't want to run TWRP, or at least I'm not committed to this DPI change being this important that I want a custom recovery.why I can't mount /system in the stock recovery? or rather, why I can mount it but why it's not working?

Nov 8, 2015I am loving my 6P, but I almost drop it all the time trying to reach across the screen and hit the back button while holding the phone one handed.
I think this wouldn't be nearly as much of a problem if I could move the back button to the far right position (this is where I had it on my G3 and it was soo much more comfortable to use).
Are there any root/non-root/modifications I can use to rearrange the buttons?
I have the bootloader unlocked and would happily root if it would enable the ability to move the buttons
I know Xposed add-ons will add this functionality eventually, but that could be at least a few weeks/months away.

Jan 4, 2016So I enjoy doing a little theming as small projects. Currently, I am working on changing the app drawer button and animating it once it's pressed. I have the stock launcher decompiled (Velvet.apk) and have found the app drawer image therein that I need to modify/change. However, there are four of them listed and each with different sizes/dimension. The dimensions found were 84x84, 56x56, 112x112, and 168x168. Which one of those dimensions portray the actual size of the app drawer button on the home screen?
Side note, I have Xposed installed which modifies my framework. I was surprised I was able to install my framework-res.apk in Apktool and decompile the system app without issues. If I edit my velvet.apk and replace the stock one with my modified one will I encounter issues since Xposed is installed?
