So never had this problem on another phone before. I noticed a couple times this week where I doing something on the phone, and look up and my clock is like 15 min (or whatever) behind. Not sure if it's related but it seems to happen when I lose connectivity in so much as everything says I'm connected to WIFI or LTE but no data is moving. I'll have to keep an eye for that one but the time thing has me concerned.

I'm looking to get a Nexus 6P, but I'll be using it for around two years (give or take, depending on what devices I can choose from in two years), and I've heard that AMOLED burn-in may become prevalent within a year or so. For some probably won't notice, even I probably wouldn't if I didn't find out that burn in exists, but I'm paranoid, so I'm thinking to use GMD's Hide Nav Bar (Root) app that I've been using on my Nexus 4 (for the sake of extra screen real-estate).
I'm wondering if this will minimize and effectively prevent burn-in of the Nav/Status bars? My main concern is the Nav bar, as Samsung's devices don't have them, making burn-in far less of an issue.
Are there any mods that allow it? There were a few that don't work with MM so I am looking for an alternative.Would be nice if Google defaulted to that instead of the solid black bar. I can do it from within my music player app. It just fills the screen more and makes it look classier in my opinion.I'd even go for an almost transparent navbar as well.

I know how rooting and flashing works but I've been using HTC devices since the nexus one so there are some differences I just want to make sure of. I got my 6P yesterday, I unlocked the bootloader and flashed TWRP. I wanted to gain root but Im not sure about flashing the modified boot img and the vendor thing.
My build was K but I got an OTA before unlocking the bootloader which updated to L. Anyway I don't know why I just formatted every thing in TWRP instead of the factory reset and I lost the OS X_X I tried to restore my nandroid with no luck. Anyway I got the factory img (MDB08L) from google dev and flashed used 'flash-all.bat' in the bootloader, the phone is running fine right now but I would like to update to the latest firmware 6.0.1+root since im not getting any OTA.
I would like to install CleanCore(6.0.1), the guide is
-> Flash Bootloader & Radio (as needed)
-> Flash CleanCore
-> Flash Modified Boot (named angler-xxxxxx-boot.zip)
-> Flash SuperSU or SuperSU Beta
-> Flash latest vendor.img (ROM & Vendor builds need to match!)
1. Should I use MMB29M factory img and flash 'flash-all.bat' like I did with the L build for the first step? then I flash new recovery?
-Flashing the rom through the recovery
2. so after I flash the rom I boot into the bootloader and flash the modified boot img with fastboot flash boot boot.img right?
3. then I go back to recovery and flash SU which I should download before.
4. vendor img is flashed in recovery too or fastboot?
So I think I know the answer but wanted to validate. If I leave the bootloader locked on my device and download a factory image from Google, cannot I just put the zip on the sdcard storage and run it through recovery to update? I don't think that I need to unlock the bootloader do I? I am trying to keep everything stock for now, but updates are a big reason I wanted this phone. Also don't want to break Android Pay.

About 50% of the time Google maps tells me to do that. Is there anyway to have the compass calibration stick?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI find the camera takes darker pictures, especially in low light, compared to Note 5 (underexposed perhaps? Not a photography buff at all . Also, the snapping pictures in general seems to be slower vs. Note 5.
I currently have both 6p and Note 5 and truly find the Note 5 to have an all-around better camera. 6p but bad by any means, but tough comparing to Note 5.
I have been using WhatsApp a lot more than usual lately and there's something that's bothering me. While the screen is off, there's a notification for each message received. So, in case I have someone messaging me 20 times in a row, I will hear the notification tone 20 times. I know some apps limit the number of notifications by time and I'd like to do this with WhatsApp.
Is there some way to do this? To make it clear, I'd like to be able to set an option like "Only ring once for whatever number of messages every 30 seconds".
Any way to move the info on the lockscreen to bottom of the screen, without a 3rd party lockscreen. I was just watching the review LeTv Max pro and think that looks sharp.

I've seen a few mentions of this here and there on the web, with suggestions to factory reset / wipe cache, etc. I have tried this but no luck. I don't really see a definitive answer anywhere, but see quite a few complaints about it.
What happens is the camera app crashes when trying to take slow motion video, while zoomed in, either at 120 fps or 240 fps. I haven't seen anybody else mention this specifically while zoomed in, but that's what's happening to me. If I'm in the camera app and switch to slow mo video, then zoom in, move the phone around a bit, the app freezes and crashes with a "cannot connect to camera" error 100% of the time. I don't even have to start recording, the screen just starts to get jumpy, then eventually freezes completely. It's not a random thing, I can replicate the problem over and over.
After switching to a custom rom from Stock my battery count haven't been the same, not talking about drain here. The Battery percentage indicator is degrading 2% at each time instead of 1% in normal situations. What should be done to bring back the correct battery calculations?

For instance, if I unlock the phone via fingerprint, pattern, or slide the first touch doesn't respond and I have to tap whatever app or item I am trying to use. I'm using Cataclysm ROM with the most recent ElementalX kernel. Maybe it's a ROM/Kernel thing and I should try stock but just wanted to ask here.

When inputting a time for an appointment or an alarm, th time selection wheel doesnt show 24 hour time format anymore since updating to IOS 5.1. I have an iPhone 4 and the general time setting is on 24 hr time format.
