Considering buying one of these, either this or the ZTE Blade (Orange San Francisco in UK). The Orange San Francisco is cheaper and has a bigger screen with more resolution, but the Wildfire looks more solid. Can I put 2.2 or 2.3 on it though?
View 1 RepliesI have purchased my HTC Wildfire about a year ago from Bangladesh. It is made in Taiwan, shipped from Singapore and most probably made for Germany. My system software version is 2.1-update 1. I know 2.2 FOTA is available. Few of my friends have got it during January. But I haven't got any automatically. Even when I check manually, it says "No updates are available". I have tried (1) Soft reset by removing the battery for couple of minutes (2) changing the date forward & backward (3) Factory (hard) reset, (4) Through both mobile network and wi-fi ...but failed.

HTC Sync ( v3.2.20 ) says "No device connected" I guess thats because I'm missing the Android Phone drivers. In device manager there is two devices without driver: Android Phone and RNDIS ( USB Tethering ) Device manager is not finding any driver for my phone when I press update driver. I have also installed latest version of Googles SDK manager and installed EXTRAS // Google usb driver package which didn't solve this problem either... Referring to googles help docs ( OEM USB Drivers | Android Developers ) I should download OEM driver from HTC site but there ain't any..

I was hoping to use this to enable me to access the internet on a netbook and it seems like the Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot function would do the trick.However, when I tried this I get on to a T-Mobile page that is then asking me for more money and it seems that T-Mobile can detect that it is a different device than the phone trying to access the internet.

Okay, I called Customer Support, and they told me that the Firmware isn't released for US AT&T yet, and they are currently working on it. Well I WANT IT NOW, i mean i have seen firmware 2.1 and it seems legit and I don't want to do a generic or flash(or whatever its called) because I don't wanna mess up my phone. and then not be able to download the actual firmware, or crash my phone and break it ya know?
