i was trying to update my phone Neo V software with sony PC companion but while updating im getting this error message "unable to install or start phone softwear update component". what shall i do.
View 8 RepliesI've just tried to update my X10 to the new 2.1 firmware, with absolutely no luck. I get through all the stages, everything works fine, no errors reported, everything reset on the phone, all looked great. But, when I check the version its' still at 1.6. And everytime i connect it to the PC after the upgrade, it tells me there's an update available, just to go through the same thing again, and still leave me with 1.6.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter multiple tries of trying to update Android for my Xperia X10 mini pro phone via the PC Companion as well as the downloaded Update Service (after reading similar threads) i am still at a loss! I am in Mumbai using an Airtel SIM.
In the case of the PC Companion, it goes smoothly until the Prepare step (where no Previous & Next buttons appear). After "preparing" the phone nothing happens. I tried pressing Enter & then it goes onto the Update panel. But here the Download status bar is just mpty & doesnt download anything.
With the Update Service, it runs fine till the Connect step. After following the instructions once again nothing happens. Here there is only a Previous button & no Next button. Pressing Enter takes you to the Previous panel.
In both cases I have seen no message appear on the phone at all & no sign of anything being recognized on either of the softwares.
When I try to update my xperia mini pro to Android ICS through PC Companion, the progress is as follows:

And donīt even try to propose to switch off antivirus and firewall, because Iīve tried that also. And no, I have not got another PC to test it. Instead, you should try to do software like we are used to in 21st century.I really have to restrain myself from using more appropriate language for your utter software engineering disability. i got the update notification for xperia x10 few days back, i quickily connected it to pc using pc companion and took the backup, then i started the update process, it reached till prepared, and after that it started initialization, but here the problem started. it was showing the initialization for 4 hours, i thought may be it hanged so i stopped it and disconnected the phone and restarted the update process, same thing happened this time. the progress bar doesnt show any progress after initialization, it showed 100% in initialization after some 4 hours but after tht nothing happened.
i dont knw the problem, it can't be network problem, as i have a 1mbps connection and i checked the speed also before starting the update,
i kept the update process as it is for 10 hours, but it still didnt show any progress from the last time.

View 3 Replies View RelatedNot wanting to wait for the OTA update to appear on it's own, I downloaded the 5.0.1 OTA update directly and tried to do a adb sideload from my Mac but sadly I get a "device not found" after doing the adb reboot bootloader command. I do adb devices and indeed no devices are attached. So I entered recovery mode and still no device found and so I just start the Nexus 6 back up as normal. At that point, adb devices shows the Nexus 6 and so rinse and repeat - the device is not found while in bootloader. Must be doing something wrong since I was able to install 5.0 without any issue and it's already unlocked.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI flashed the recovery, rooted the device. Updated the build.prop. Then unrooted it, put back stock recovery and locked the bootloader. I was getting "Your device is corrupt" message on boot, however, it was able to boot. I have received the January security updates, but I am not able to install it. It proceeds through installation and during the restart it shows "Error". I have already tried clearing cache.
Is there anything I can do ? Is there any way to update build.prop without getting "Your device is corrput" message ?

Okay, I called Customer Support, and they told me that the Firmware isn't released for US AT&T yet, and they are currently working on it. Well I WANT IT NOW, i mean i have seen firmware 2.1 and it seems legit and I don't want to do a generic or flash(or whatever its called) because I don't wanna mess up my phone. and then not be able to download the actual firmware, or crash my phone and break it ya know?
