I just picked up the GW620 for my wife (it's our first Android device) and being the tinkerer that I am, looked into the rooting situation for it.I wasn't aware that Android 1.5 was lacking quite a lot of the features of 1.6 and 2.0 but I was hoping there would be an update from Rogers.
I just contacted LG's live chat support and he said that there wouldn't be an update for the GW620 as it's a combination of Android and S-Class.Would it be possible to update to 1.6 via other methods?
I know how to change it, but the only tones available to change it to, are the 14 default tones.Is it possible to change this setting to a downloaded tone?
I was wondering if anyone had info on this phone.Recently purchased one and can't save apps to memory card. It seems no one knows much about this phone.
how to get rid of this ICS update and update into the old android version. I am having some serious problems whith my phone after ICS update (physical keyboard not working, problems in adding phone contacts, reboots after every app close, acting slow).
I can not update my ray and that the update to Android 4.0.4 is available for my number if from there 5 days, anyone has the same problem??? My number is 1252-1255, i think it corresponds to a ray of the Spanish region.
Considering buying one of these, either this or the ZTE Blade (Orange San Francisco in UK). The Orange San Francisco is cheaper and has a bigger screen with more resolution, but the Wildfire looks more solid. Can I put 2.2 or 2.3 on it though?

I have been trying to update my x10 from 1.6 to 2.1, however even when i follow the videos which have been posted i cannot for the life of me work out how to get it to update to 2.1. It just keeps saying that it has the most up to date software and thats it, and my phone hasn't updated!

I have purchased my HTC Wildfire about a year ago from Bangladesh. It is made in Taiwan, shipped from Singapore and most probably made for Germany. My system software version is 2.1-update 1. I know 2.2 FOTA is available. Few of my friends have got it during January. But I haven't got any automatically. Even when I check manually, it says "No updates are available". I have tried (1) Soft reset by removing the battery for couple of minutes (2) changing the date forward & backward (3) Factory (hard) reset, (4) Through both mobile network and wi-fi ...but failed.
Everytime that i try to use the Android market it comes up "Sorry! The application market (process.com.vending) has stopped unexpectedly."And now that i have tried to update the phone to the latest software it wont let me
Okay, so I have received my Sony Ericsson Xperia x10 today, and I just looked and it has really old firmware as for a 1.6 OS. Okay, I called Customer Support, and they told me that the Firmware isn't released for US AT&T yet, and they are currently working on it. Well I WANT IT NOW, i mean i have seen firmware 2.1 and it seems legit and I don't want to do a generic or flash(or whatever its called) because I don't wanna mess up my phone. and then not be able to download the actual firmware, or crash my phone and break it ya know? Someone make me feel better about all this because its an amazing phone!

I have a new Xperia mini (ST15i) and issues with the screen (instable, sometimes I have to pull out the battery). I red that an upgrade to Android 4 might solve the issue. See current version below.
I've tried to upgrade with PC Companion but the software sais that the phone is allready up-to-date. I also tried "repair" but that installs the same firm- and software that is allready on it

I installed android 2.1 today but for some reason I can't restore my contacts.I followed the instructions on the sony ericsson webpage and used the SE backup software to make a backup of my contacts, mms, photos etc.When I restored everything after the update everything was restored except my contacts. How can I get my contacts back? Is there some way to extract them manually from the backup file or something? The backup software can't seem to restore them for me...
I've just tried to update my X10 to the new 2.1 firmware, with absolutely no luck. I get through all the stages, everything works fine, no errors reported, everything reset on the phone, all looked great. But, when I check the version its' still at 1.6. And everytime i connect it to the PC after the upgrade, it tells me there's an update available, just to go through the same thing again, and still leave me with 1.6.
I have a Sprint LG G3 phone that froze during the Android App update that it prompted me to do. It seemed that things were going great , and then all of a sudden it was just doing nothing...
Now 1 1/2 hours later the phone is still doing nothing. The Screen is on and has a LG Lifes Good logo on it , along with a pink round ball logo thing... Every once in awhile the screen will flash and get brighter. Other then that it is doing nothing and I can't get it to do anything...
I just updated my mobile phone via WLAN. After that it said I changed my SIM card. Which is not true. Switched it off and on: I type in my SIM Card password and it wants another password. And I have absolutely no clue which one.I use the AVG Anti-Theft-Protection. But this doesnt seem to be the required password. I tried it. I also tried to remove the SIM card and put it back. The problem still remains.So I can only use the emergency mode. Heres a picture of what the start-screen looks like now: In the middle of the first picture it just says "Connected to PC" - But my PC cannot find the mobile since it's only on the emergency mode.Second picture just says "Please type in password".
I have some problems with my avg Antivirus after taking it to the repair store for flashing the application update center stop bringing android L and Walkman update I tried the factory reset no luck.
