I attempted to root the phone and when i updated the rom it just sits at the htc hagic screen.I try to send over the recovery or any other rom thru hboot/fastboot and nothing is working. I have looked everywhere and cannot find any information. Has this happened to someone or does anyone know how to fix this?

I'm a complete n00b to smart phones as the htc magic or mytouch would be my first one. Anyway I know the htc magic is the original european version of Tmobile's mytouch 3g. I've done a little research and heard that the Magic has more RAM, and a few other perks that the mytouch did not come with. I actually am thinking about buying an unlocked magic and using it here (washington DC) with t-mobile. Ultimately, my question is, does anyone have any feedback on using the magic on a tmobile network? Since vodafone is the provider for the Magic, would I be missing out on cool features available only on the European network? And would I be better off just sticking to the US tmobile version?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've noticed via search that I'm not the only one who sees issues with the clear plastic piece in the back cover of the Mytouch 3G. It won't stay clean and ruins camera pictures. The usual Q tip route doesn't seem to work; maybe there are scratches on this cover for some reason. Has anyone found a back cover replacement for the Mytouch 3G that has a bigger/better clear plastic piece over the camera lens?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm new to the Android world and settled on a Mytouch Slide from T-mobile. A week after buying this phone, I am running low on internal storage.The phone has 512 megs of storage, but even after I did a factory reset, I started with only 137 megs.I guess the operating system eats up most of that memory. T-mobile recommends always keeping 30 megs free, so the bottom line is I have just over 100 megs for apps.
What I don't understand is this.The phone came with an 8 gig microSD card, but I have read you can't store apps on this.So unless I am misunderstanding something here, I only have 100 megs for apps, but I have 8 gigs that are completely worthless unless I want to take tons of pictures or use my phone as an iPod. This can't be right, no company would be this stupid.So my question is, what am I doing wrong here? How am I supposed to manage my apps? I can't figure out how to move them to my SD card, and I don't even see a place on the marketplace where I can save a list of what I have downloaded for easy access later. The best I can figure, you have to constantly manage your apps, and then if you want one that you deleted, you have to search for it in the marketplace and download it again?
I just refuse to believe this is accurate. I've never had an iPhone before, but I have friends who do, and they never complain about running out of space for apps.
It seems that the slide has build issues. My first slide, the battery cover made a squeak sound from being held during a phone call. My second slide, when I slide up the screen for texting and press the back key (by the genius button) it squeaks like crazy. These squeaks are like 2 plastic being smashed together. Wondering if anybody else had such problems.
View 2 Replies View RelatedA few weeks back, my HTC Mytouch (Magic)'s headphone jack stopped working. I had called them up and had an RMA set up to have it fixed.In the box, I had included a typed note stating the problem, stating the phone is unlocked and that I would like it returned unlocked, and a simple request to remove dust from under the screen (since they would have the phone apart anyways)
Anyways, when I get the unit back, they changed motherboards (new IMEI number), re-locked the phone and didn't clean the dust out from under the screen. I called HTC support on Monday and explained how the phone was unlocked when sent in and because it is a different IMEI number than the one that I purchased, T-Mobile wouldn't supply the unlock code. The woman on the phone said it could take 48 hours for them to get back to me with the code.I called HTC and they said it could take up to 72 hours to get the code. Called yesterday. Was told that the guy had emailed the support team directly and I would have it by this morning. Called and they said it would take 7-14 days and it would be text-messaged to me. I'm really, really ****ed off. They didn't read the note I included and wrapped the phone in and they are taking forever to get the code to me. T-Mobile isn't any help because I had initially bought the phone and used it as a pre-paid. Closed the account there a few months back.
I have a 9700, originally from wind, unlocked, now on mobilicity. I've setup tethering through the BB management software, everything appears to connect. However, when I try to access any websites, I'm redirected to a 'pay for another account' style webpage. From there I can click 'return home' which brings me to mobilicity's mobile web home page but if I click anywhere there, it brings me back to the 'pay for another account' page. I have a working data plan and have checked with mobilicity and they say there's nothing extra I would have to pay for. I think it may have to do with the phone coming from another network or being unlocked.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have these voice memos on my iPhone 4 which I want to extract, and I've read that the way to do it is to perform a sync with iTunes. However, the iPhone was synchronised with an older computer, which is no longer working. I don't recall having performed any major syncing with that old computer, except for apps. So iTunes told me the usual stuff, that if I choose to sync with my current computer, the data from the iPhone will be deleted and replaced with the new content (there's none at the moment) from the current computer. Now, what I would like to know is: if I choose to synchronise music only (plus voice memos) by only checking the "Sync Music" checkbox under the "Music" tab, would the other stuff (apps, for example) still be removed as well and synced with the current computer (no apps)? The dialogue box which appeared and warned of removing my existing data (and syncing with the current library) made me hesitant to proceed...
I'm ok with clearing music, because there are no music pieces on the iPhone in the first place. What I'm worried about is that the other stuff will be removed as well. Logically, I'm thinking it shouldn't, since I'm only asking iTunes to sync my music, but can anyone confirm this?

Yesterday my Xperia started having what's described as the "ghost touch" issue.After shutting the phone down, nothing was looking better. At this point, when I boot up the phone, I can enter my sim-pin, start the camera by the dedicated button and touch objects to focus. I can also select things in the restart/shut down menu. However, the lock sceen is all but responsive. The fact that I have partial touchscreen functionality gives me the hope that the problem is software related rather than a hardware issue. However, since I can't get past the lock screen, it's also impossible for me to reboot the phone to factory settings.

I used to go a whole day and would only hit 50% battery use. After some research, reading and testing of my own, I can say with some certainty that after turning off the push notification and location services on my phone battery life has dramatically improved returning to pre update performance and the overheating has ceased.

Any sound sampled there is silent. "Change with Buttons" is on, but if you push either button, the little popup comes up normally, but does not display the progressive dots like it usually does. (never seen those dissappear before) 'Lock Sounds' and 'Keyboard Clicks' are both turned on, but do not make sound when used. The phone rings, and voice conversation works normally, but incoming text and email alert chimes do not sound off as usual. Siri sound works fine. Did a power off, no change, did reset (Power and Home held for 10sec), no change. Did Restore from iTunes, then full backup from iCloud, no change.

I have a 1st generation iPhone that was unlocked and jailbroken with ZiPhone. One day I was typing a text message/using internet (can't recall specifically) and a bunch of random keys popped up (as they do when you type) even though I had not pressed anything, and since then a portion of the screen no longer works. This portion is (in the context of text messaging), the top row of the keyboard, and the area where you have the actual message (hence I cannot press 'send').
I repeatedly tried the reset technique involving holding the home button and power button, but had no results. Recently I have reset the home screen and now have a "how to rearrange home screen icons" thing in the middle of my screen whenever I turn the phone on, and I cannot press "ok" due to the problems in the screen. Any idea what the problem may be, or what I can do about it?
I have BB9220. Recently I changed my SIM card and now when I am trying to restore my previous address book, only 60% of my last address book is getting restored and still the DTM says that all items of your address book were successfully restored whereas only 60% got restored.I have tried it with and without email wireless synchronization, but of no use. Can someone help. You know life becomes miserable when you loose your decade long address book.

Few days back I downloaded a theme to my phone. It worked for 1.5 days and after that it automatically restarted my phone and after that my phone was automatically formatted. It was like a kind of trojan horse attack on my phone.After this, my phone's software was affected and some of the tools like Calculator and Games were lost. I thought to do a factory restore (soft as well as hard format) as well, but nothing restored those lost applications to my phone.As of now, I have lost many applications that came with my phone when I had bought it. I even lost 2-3 themes that had come with the phone.I tried updating my phone again with Nokia Ovi Suite so that it may update my lost applications but it says that my phone is already updated.What to do? How to get back those applications?
On my Evo Design, the top notification bar will partially slide down automatically sometimes. In order to use the phone I have to lock the screen and then unlock it. It's not a HUGE problem, it's just a pain in the butt. Anyone know what's going on, and possibly what could fix it. When I first went into Sprint and showed them the issue, they recommended that I delete all of the downloaded apps on the phone. That didn't work. Then they told me to do a master reset. That didn't work either. It's rather annoying as it happens, usually, a few times a day at least.

After arriving back from holiday, I synced my iphone as normal to transfer the recent pictures I'd taken (on the phone) to my PC. The sync was interrupted and now none of the pictures exist - they must be stored somewhere; does anyone know how I can retrieve these pictures?

It always blinked when I had a text message waiting for me, or anything else.After the gingerbread update, most of the time the LED won't blink if you lock the phone while still in the messaging app. It still works fine for everything else (Emails, calendar etc) but if you lock the phone before exiting out of the texting/messaging app, I would say %90 of the time the LED won't blink. If you exit the messaging app before you lock your phone, the LED works fine.
The LED worked great in froyo, sucks that's its kinda broken on gingerbread. Is this a known issue for Moto? Just adding in that I have already tried a factory reset and this did not resolve the issue.

View 24 Replies View Relatedafter my own iphone 3g was bricked after updating to ios4.02, now my wife's is too. i ended up having to do the update (restore) from another computer. my wife's update has been through her own computer, not any of mine, so no common issues were possible - except that apple has obviously fooked up! this is after a bricked update to 3.2.1 on my ipad which still has Internet issues and wifi intermittent troubles. i'm getting weary with apple.
