Was running 4.0.1, did the www.jailbreakme.com stuff, and then rebooted my iPhone and all I get is the Apple Logo. This did not happen when I rebooted my 3GS, but I don't know what to do now. It was my first time jailbreaking.
I just got my iphone 4 today, i waited in line...took it home jailbroke it, added some ringtones. Thats it. THEN- i went to settings>reset> erase iphone its started to turn off then back on HERES where it gets bad! the apple come up then weird lines come up at the top the apple goes away to a black screen. THATS IT! it never does anything else!
I tried to put it in DFU mood by holding home and sleep wake... does the same thing and DOESNT go into DFU!!what can i doo?! if i take it into the apple store will the replace it , or will they find out i jailbroke it ?
My iPhone screen shut off and the phone has been vibrating for the last hour. None of the buttons work...holding down the Power+Home buttons does nothing, connecting it to the computer does nothing. The phone has gotten very hot from the constant vibrating.
I did the jailbreak earlier. Only installed SBSettings and did an update in Cydia that it said was available. That's it.I did also have AdMob ads in Settings for some reason so obviously something else got installed on there but how/when?
after my own iphone 3g was bricked after updating to ios4.02, now my wife's is too. i ended up having to do the update (restore) from another computer. my wife's update has been through her own computer, not any of mine, so no common issues were possible - except that apple has obviously fooked up! this is after a bricked update to 3.2.1 on my ipad which still has Internet issues and wifi intermittent troubles. i'm getting weary with apple.
iPhone 3GS, 32 GB, nearly full memory (only 0.58 GB free, although there was 3.6 GB of 'other' memory in the bar shown in iTunes).
Started the update from iOS 5.01 to iOS5.1, downloaded to phone OK, phone rebooted, now it's stopped at the point where the silver apple is shown with an empty progress bar.
The phone does show up in iTunes at this point, correct serial number / phone number, but shows the entire memory bar full with the yellow 'Other' memory category.
The phone won't finish booting, can't get to the user screens on the phone.
Today i upgraded my iphone 4s to 7.1.2 and it bricked up at the end. This has never happened to me before on any upgrades. Problem is i can not turn off the phone to restore it because the sleep/wake button does not work. I was using the assistive touch method to lock my phone. I tried restoring from backup in itunes but it says can not because it is locked with a passcode...
The update provided new sources and new wallpapers, but when you tried to apply a new wallpaper, it froze for a little bit. When my phone did the respring, the home screen came up, and was froze. I couldn't lock it, or click on any app. Then, the screen went blank.
It literally won't do anything. When I connect it to itunes, my phone will make a sound as if it just plugged in (I have different sounds on my UI). I let it sync, but it still does nothing.Any help here? I'm desperate at this point, and almost hoping that it will let me restore, even if that does make it 4.0.2.
So I didn't realize that in order to upgrade to 4.0 you actually had to have your phone registered with Apple and now I'm stuck with a "We're unable to complete your activation." My phone is completely useless, unless I can figure out a way to downgrade or pay the $99 for the developer account. Is there any way for me to downgrade?
I have a iphone 3gs and clicked to upgrade to io5. Went through the wipe the phone process but when it goes to restore an load up the io5 its says error messages at the end. Everytime i connect it goes through the same process.I have disconnected antivirus and firewall ans still error messages. I have even loaded itunes onto a brand new laptop and tried to update and nothing but error messages after it "verifies" install. I am not getting to the stage to restore my phones apps and contacts - its just not loading my phone back to factory setting - i dotn really want the io5 now but want it back to working state! This had been for 3 days now.
Info: iPhone 3GS (8GB), iOS 4.3.2, Updating to io5
So my iphone just happened to go into a coma yesterday evening and I tried to turn it back on. I looked down to the cable connector on the bottom to see if there was any water damage. No red indicator. few hours later, I read that if you hold down the opwer and home button at the same time, it will reboot. However, I've held the buttons for MORE than 30 seconds--up to 3 minutes. Not to long ago, I also read that you should plug in the iphone and hold the two buttons, commencing the restoration process thingy. Again, held it down for more than a minute. I even tried it on my aunt's laptop and it still won't work. Either I'm impatient (I listen to music alot so it's like a drug), the battery/hardware failed, or I'm just having back luck with technology.
I agreed to give my old 1st gen iPhone to a friend of mine (as I've been on a 3G right now). I went and pulled it out of the storage shed, plugged it in, and booted it up. It came up just fine, prompting me to insert a SIM card (I had the phone unlocked).
Before giving it to him, I decided to update to the latest OS (which I had done on my 3G the week prior). So I plug it in to my MacBook, download the latest 3.1.3 update for the original iPhone through iTunes, run it through the latest version of Pwnage to get an ipsw, put the iPhone in restore mode, and update from the .ipsw.
I received an error, and the iPhone seems to have been bricked. Now, when turned on, it goes straight to DFU mode (showing a cable and the iTunes logo). When I try to update, the iPhone reboots at the "preparing iPhone" stage, and then iTunes errors out with:
"The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1611)."I have tried this from my MacBook, Hackintosh (which errored out with (2006)?), and Windows 7 PC. The first machine I tried it on was the MacBook.
I am on vacation, and for some reason just had to update my iPhone 4 to the new update 4.1. Well guess what, it will not update!!!!
My itunes is the latest one, so I even deleted itunes and re-installed it, restarted my computer and iPhone, then tried to restore it again. No go. At first itunes was giving me a 2002 error, now I believe it's something like 1004 error. What can I do? There is no apple store where I am located.
I just got my discount pricing from AT&T and want to go from my 3g to 3gs. If I walk into a store and buy one, can I jailbreak it? Do they upgrade the firmware on their stock or flash them when the customers get them? The store agreed to let me look at the phone before purchase, what should I look for? I have a friend there. What firmware is 100% breakable? I have no interest in iphone 4.0.
i found an alternative link at jailbreakme.com/blob.html. the site seems to be down atm. is there an alternative address i can use to jailbreak? ive tried both jailbreakme.com and jailbreakme.modmyi.com neither are working.
I'm hoping someone more inclined with iPhones than I would be able to present me with some options for jailbreaking my two iPhone 3GS's.
Here's my scenario: iPhone 3GS #1 has 4.0.1 iOS. 05.13.04 bootrom. No SHA1 blobs. iPhone 3GS #2 is brand new and right out of the box with no SIM inside it.
My goal is to ultimately jailbreak and unlock both, but there is so much information on the web and walkthroughs can be misleading. Delving through all of this information with all of the trial and error involved is quite tedious. If anyone knowledgeable on the forums would be able to share with me what ever would be the most painless way to jailbreak both of these devices, I would extremely appreciate it!
I am also running Mac OS 10.6.4 and iTunes ver. 10.
Has there been any news of a jailbreak on the Ipad. I know its the first day, but didn't Hotz say that he would have a jailbreak for the Ipad on the first day. Correct me if I'm wrong.
http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/16/i...to-developers/ Didn't see a topic on this. Looks like we might not have to wait long at all when the new phones come out to be able to jailbreak em. If anyone here is a JB app developer, get on that!
Ok so i noticed on the internet there are jailbreaks that you pay for. These all say they work with 3.1.3 on the new bootrom for a 3GS. Is this correct? They looklike established companys and I dont see how they would get away with lying. Any help would be appreciated.
I updated from jailbroken 3.1.2 to 4 GM thinking it would erase all jailbreak data and give a clean install of 4. Everything went great but my 3GS doesn't have 3G data or MMS available. I've seen other with this problem but no solution.I'd like to just restore and start over- but when I try to restore in iTunes I get errors when it checks on Apple's servers.
In-App SMS is the only reason for some people to jailbreak their phone. When Steve Jobs announced the new features of iOS 4.0, this was the first thing I saw and I was really excited. I have a question, why isn't this utilized yet? I haven't heard anyone on Macrumors talk about this yet. Are the tools simply not available yet for developers at the moment?
i have got an iphone 3g and when i got it it was jailbroken so i went to restore it but it failed now it says i need to plug it into itunes all the time. what do i do?
I have created an app which is not accepted by app store due to the usage of private API. Now I want to distribute the app to jailbreak phones. I know that there is Cydia for distribution, but how do I create a file for distribution? In detail, after compilation, I have a signed *.app file (signed with Apple's distribution certificate). What do I have to do with this file, so that I can e.g. email it to friend who have jailbroken iPhones?
