So when I plug my phone into my car's USB to use Mirrorlink, Bluetooth, and GPS, it over heats in about 5 minutes. My car's USB supplies about 0.5A.
However, if I don't plug it into the car and just charge it at 2A using a battery back up.
I've been using the otterbox for the Nokia Lumia 1020 for a while now and just recently the phone just "died." I'v tried the restore (volume down + power) and charged it. I think the phone overheated and died in the otterbox.

I hook it to my computer and itunes comes up and says it has detected a iphone in recovery mode. It asked if I want to restore so I hit restore button and it starts extracting. When done extracting, a messages comes up and says this iphone can not be restored error 1656. What can I do now? I bought this phone new in October. It has not been damaged in anyway. It started one morning after charging all night.

I can plug it in but it doesn't seem to recognize the plug...I've tried a couple of them now...no charging, no data transfer. I think the receptacle must be broken in the iPhone itself. It worked a couple of times after I started having the problem but doesn't seem to work at all now...my phone is slowly losing its charge so I need to do something today - because I can't be without a working phone.

I just got a HTC One. When I plug it into my laptop to charge, it does silent. The profile is normal and I've picked a nice loud ringtone to make sure I hear it (Dare from the Transformers 1986 Soundtrack).
I'm no more than a few feet from it and no matter how loud I set the ringer, it just won't let me know when a call is coming through besides a tiny little vibration.
How do you set it so that it's as loud charging off the laptop as it is when it;s in your pocket?
I'm really hoping someone can help me. My phone will not connect to my pc when trying to update using sony ericsson pc companion.I have been unable to update it with the last two updates and in my desperation last night to make my phone work I have backed up using my backup after reading that the sony ericsson backup app won't work after the update, and then restored factory settings. It hasn't fixed it. It still won't work.
I should also add that I have tried this on 3 computers and they have all said the usb device is not recognized. It is clearly my phone. It has very recently been having problems charging in all chargers however this problem has been going on for a lot longer!This is driving me insane. Before this I loved my phone, despite the many faults!!
My S6 says it is overheated and it will no longer charge or turn on, plugged in or not. This started after using the video camera, but I don't think that is the cause. It seems that the temperature sensor is reading temperature incorrectly.

Fell asleep with my phone on the top left corner of my bed with it charging. I guess it slide down into the covers because when I woke up, it was underneath the covers and very hot (hard to touch). I put it on my dresser for about 5 minutes then in the fridge for about 5 more. It's not hot anymore and won't turn on, plugged in or otherwise. Am I screwed or is there a way to fix my phone

It was a great phone, until it was run over at a construction site. I had insurance and the next day I got a replacement, a refurb. The phone would shut down, or lock up I'm not sure what it was. I would have the phone in my shirt pocket and after a while I would feel it warming up, a lot. I would hit the "on" button and nothing. I would wait and nothing happened. It finally got to the point the only way the phone would start was take the battery out and put it back in. With an Otterbox this was getting to be an issue. This is my third replacement and it's doing the same thing.
Bought an S5 off an amazon retailer about a month ago and it charges via it's usb cable through any computer or such like device, yet it won't charge via any usb plug adapter. I have tried usb 3.0 and 2.0 samsung official adapters, apple, 'universal' adapters etc with no luck at all.
I tried a factory reset, turned on usb debugging, all except sending it off to samsung.
Using Google maps for navigation with satellite view on my Verizon g4 while charging caused my phone to get the overheat warning and the screen turned super dim. I couldn't see the screen enough to use it for navigation. Battery temperatures reached 125°F.

I plugged my phone into the computer (Dell, Windows 7) and the window that popped up asked if I wanted updates. I clicked install. Then another window said it was unable to install as I needed the latest update of itunes. I thought I had that on my phone! View 8 Replies View RelatedI purchased an HTC One M8 (HK edition) at the end of Sept so I've had less than two months. This past weekend it started rebooting itself approximately every 5 minutes. It only does this when it is using battery power, if it is plugged in and charging it is fine. Sprint did a factory reset in the store and HTC walked me through one via live chat and I'm still having the problem. The fact that it doesn't do it when it is plugged in makes me wonder if it is a battery problem.

so i thought i would just recover it to 3.1.3 but i wanted to avoid that step and go straight to 3.1.2 so that i can instantly jailbreak it correctly this time. i search around Internet and find a download for 3.1.2 firmware and i follow the steps and im supposed to do shift+and click restore on itunes and browse the download all looks swell until when it says preparing for recovery and it just comes with the (1600) error code.
I have had my 950 for about 15 hours now and this morning it has restarted no less than 6 times after about 15 - 30 minutes. Not doing anything with the phone, it is just sitting there on my desk plugged into the computer and it restarts. When setting up my phone I used the restore of a backup created from my Lumia 925 so it was not technically a fresh install.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI contacted technical support and they said that it was new and needed to charge overnight. So it charged overnight and it continued to shut down several times that day. It did it a few times on the morning of the 18th so I took it to the Sprint Store. They said it was a simple fix and that the SIM was causing the problem. They took the SIM out and restarted the phone and voila- right? WRONG, 10 minutes later I go to use the phone and it was off AGAIN. I took it right back to the store and they said that they forgot to do a factory reset without the SIM in the phone. So the did the reset. I refused to leave the parking lot until I knew it would not shut off. Like clockwork, within 15 minutes it was off again.
I demanded a swap and they gave me a different PHOTON. It was great for about 24 hours and today restarted by itself once and then a few minutes later just shut down again. I called Sprint and the rep actually told me to try putting a piece of folded paper between the battery and the back plate!!! I just paid a load for this phone and I shouldn't have to rig it with folded paper. What is the deal with these phones? Are they all like this or are there some that are actually functioning properly? Is there a specific lot number or part that causes it?

The files are mostly MKV videos files, ranging from 1GB to 3GB in size.
On my old S5, I usually take the MicroSD card out and copy the files using a USB 3.0 card reader connected to my computer's USB 3.0 port. Or I just connect the S5 to my computer using the included USB 3.0 cable. Both methods are very speedy.
With the S6, I don't know, it seems to take about 3 times as long to copy the same files. I thought the internal memory was supposed to super fast... or is the USB 2.0 connector the bottleneck? or is there something else that I can do to speed things up?
I mean its like clockwork, whenever I'm talking to someone at exactly 30 minutes of talking my photon just hangs up. Anyone else have this problem?
