IPhone :: Phone 3GS (1600) Error - Doesn't Turn On And When Plug It In Computer It Just Says Its In Recovery Mode
Apr 5, 2010
my iphone 3gs was previously 3.1.2 firmware and i used my brother laptop that already had blackra1n installed so i used it and it looked fine then it just got bricked? it just doesnt turn on and when i plug it in computer it just says its in recovery mode and needs to be recovered.
so i thought i would just recover it to 3.1.3 but i wanted to avoid that step and go straight to 3.1.2 so that i can instantly jailbreak it correctly this time. i search around Internet and find a download for 3.1.2 firmware and i follow the steps and im supposed to do shift+and click restore on itunes and browse the download all looks swell until when it says preparing for recovery and it just comes with the (1600) error code.
I have a friend's iPhone after he seemingly bricked it by using blackra1n and then wanting to unlock it so he used blacksno and then he said he got something called buetbunueter and he thinks he hit a wrong button and screwed it all up.
I started off by trying a simple restore of the iPhone as that is basically the only thing that will come up consistently. Unfortunately I get error 23 and the phone cannot be restored. I've tried 1.1.2, 3.1.2, and a custom 3.1.2 from Pwnage.
I then went into DFU mode and tried all 3 firmwares again, but this time I got error 1600. So, yet another failure.
I've tried iRecovery and that doesn't seem to help and I've tried using blackra1n again but it just seems to hang on the logo when it is supposed to be rebooting.
Anyone have any ideas or tips, I've been googling for about 2 hours and have seem way too many blogs.
iphone 4 won't turn on. I press top button and still nothing. I plug it in and there is a pic of plug and itunes logo. I hook it to my computer and itunes comes up and says it has detected a iphone in recovery mode. It asked if I want to restore so I hit restore button and it starts extracting. When done extracting, a messages comes up and says this iphone can not be restored error 1656. What can I do now? I bought this phone new in October. It has not been damaged in anyway. It started one morning after charging all night.
Recently I jailbreak using pwnage then blackra1n/blacksn0w to unlock my iphone 3gs (3.1.2 - 05.11.07). So I decide to get one for my girlfriend same spec (3.1.2 - 05.11.07) and when I did the same process, itune gives the 1600 error during custom firmware restore. I later discovered it had a newer bootrom on this one and Untethered jailbreak (pwnage) wasnít supported.
The iphone is currently stuck in DFU mode and unable to enter recovery mode and gives the 1600 error upon restore, I tried using new cable and switched from Mac to PC for the restore but none worked. With iREB not supporting 3gs. I am out of ideas anyone can help to restore the iphone?
I should have just used blackra1n (tethered) jailbreak and unlock it .I guess I can normal restore it to 3.1.3 and have a itouch instead if worst come to worst. In addition I have a question about blackra1n (tethered) jailbreak/unlock, I was under the assumption if I powered off I will loss the unlock, but thatís not the case on another iphone?
I accidently used blackra1n on a 3.0.1 iPhone 3G and it put the phone in recovery mode and that's all the iPhone is doing now... The phone is NOT recognizing that anything is plugged into it now... Before doing this the computer did recognize the phone. Also, the power button is broken.
My iPhone was accidentally unplugged during a restore and now it is stuck in recovery mode. Every time I plug it into my computer iTunes crashes instantly. Without the phone plugged in iTunes works fine.¬
After several attempts I reinstalled OSX starting down with Lion, then upgraded to Mavericks, then to Yosemite beta and they all have the same problem. The iPhone is the only thing plugged into the computer besides the power cord. I've done many Home + Power button resets. Tried different cables. Tried using guest account instead.¬
ive had my iPhone 4 for about a year and it suddenly turned itself off today and wont work. everything was fine with it charged it fully last night and it was working fine this morning. didnt get water in it, didnt drop it?
heres my situation...lastnight, i was in cydia downlaoding a patch for the mms tethering for tmobile. as soon as it rebooted the phone, i had the feeling the it will be stuck on the apple logo.
so i tried restoring it again with my custom 3.1.2 fw using mac. i did the option+restore and as soon as it about to restore it, it gave me the 1600 error message...
so searched this forum and went to Internet for the "1600 error". the solution i came up with is to run the redsnow 9.0...i tried running the program at first but could not get it to run properly as my phone is stuck in restore mode and could not put it in dfu mode (connect to itunes logo). i tried pressing the power and home button so many times and it eventually put me in the dfu mode (connect to itunes logo) and it completely ran the redsnow process. problem is...it still giving me the annoying "1600 error" message.
My Iphone recently shut off while I was using it. I turned it back on and went to my iMessages and then it immediately shut off again. After this happened I tried to do a hard reset on it, but nothing would pop up. My iphone is completely dead without being connected to a charger. When I plug it into a charger it pops up the plug into itunes logo. I plug it into iTunes and attempt to restore it and instead I receive a message saying "error code 21".....
Here's the deal.. I was driving today and all of a sudden my phone just stopped working.. I saw a notification saying I should restore my phone or contact apple.. My phone still powers on, I still have my custom lock screen and all but I can only make emergency calls and access SBSettings which doesn't actually work anymore. So I tried to restore the the custom firmware and itunes keeps giving me the 1600 error .. I have heard iReb can fix this but I dont even know if its compatible with the 3GS for this issue.. I have tried but its kinda confusing and hasnt exactly worked..
Yesterday I bought a brand new 5S. After configuring and charging it, I plugged it into my PC, which runs on Windows 8, and saw that there was an iOS 7.1.2 software update. I started the update but just when it was about to end, the loading bar changed to 'Waiting for iPhone' and my phone had the 'connect to iTunes' screen pop up. After about 10 minutes, I unplugged and replugged the phone, but iTunes had failed to recognize it and it was now stuck in recovery mode. I've already seen all the articles about this problem and none of them have worked; I've tried reinstalling iTunes, tested the USB (which worked on my sister's phone) performed a hard-reboot and put my phone into DFU mode but to no avail. It's been 13 hours of searching the web - is there anything I can do?
While updating to iOS 4 it just errored out with error 14. iTunes said I had to restore before moving on. So I did, when progress bar starts when updating iphone software it errors out all time on error 14. Tried all the solutions under Apple support different USB port, restarting computer, different 32 pin cable, different computer. Nothing works errors out on same error.
Looking into the debug log i do notice why it always crashes always see this come up: decompressData failed with error 1000. I dunno but I am starting to lean towards a hardware failure.
iphone 4s stuck in recovery mode ,cant acitivate or unlock. 3194 errorn sometime error 14.iam using latest veriosn of i tune.what to do?just can see connect to itune pic on screen.allreaddy tried on/off swith plus home butten trick.nothing happend
is it possible to get my iphone 3g out of recovery mode, showing error 1015,i know this has been posted many times, but cant find a simplified solution if in fact one exists, had this phone passed on to me without the iphone being first restored my uncle cannot remember the 4 figure pass code so thought i would try through itunes like i did with an ipod touch that had the same issue but that was successful in restore back to factory settings etc so not sure how to overcome this problem.
I have tried restoring my phone but in a recovery mode it indicates error 3194 I have disabled the firewalland even the wireless but it still pops up at that level what is the next step now? I have Iphone 5c barely 6 months old.
I recently downloaded IOS 8 from my developer account, and i got tired of all the crashes so i decided to restore back to IOS 7.1.1 , and so i downloaded the latest IOS 7 IPSW , entered DFU Mode and i held down option on my mac and clicked "Restore" , chose my IPSW, but halfway through iTunes froze. I waited for about 40 minutes but then i needed to go, so i took it out without a choice.
I came back and it was in Recovery mode,i tried the same steps, but it keeps freezing at the exact same moment.
I tried both of my mac's USB ports, two lightning bolt cables, another Windows PC, nothing seems to work.
The strange thing is, when i try to restore it on my Mac it just freezes in the middle, but when i try to restore it on my PC it just gives me an error.
The error is:" The iPhone "iPhone" cannot be restored. An unknown error occurred. Error number 14".
I have everything updated,i tried to restore when it is in recovery mode, after i downloaded the IPSW from iTunes, tried downloading from multiple sources, nothing seems to work.
My iPhone 5 is suddenly stuck in recovery mode. It won't turn on, the connect to iTunes logo just shows up. I really don't want to restore it because I have 300+ pictures from vacation that have not yet been synced to my photo stream. I guess my question is is there anyway that I can kick my phone out of recovery mode long enough to get those photos in my stream without restoring it? I know there are programs on the Internet that claim to do this but I doubt they work.
I can plug it in but it doesn't seem to recognize the plug...I've tried a couple of them now...no charging, no data transfer. I think the receptacle must be broken in the iPhone itself. It worked a couple of times after I started having the problem but doesn't seem to work at all now...my phone is slowly losing its charge so I need to do something today - because I can't be without a working phone.
