Prior to updating to Lollipop I could operate music from the lock screen. I also had the option of adding widgets to the lock screen by swiping from the right. Since the update all of this has gone. I can't do anything without unlocking the phone. In security there is no longer an option for allowing lock screen widgets. How do I correct this?

Instead of this cool feature, my S6 gives a vibration or the LED lights up without automatically light up the screen which is annoying cause I need to pick up my phone and hit the home button to see the notifications.Can I had this feature on my besides that superb S6?

I plugged it in to my computer to put music on and i believe i updated the phone. my screen lock button is gone. no option. it has dissapeared.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI often switch the feature to have to slide the screen lock to use the phone on or off. It's currently off and I can't find the menu item to turn it on again! Where was it again? I've got a standard Motorola Defy 2.2.By the way - the only reason I'm always switching it around is because when I'm expecting a lot of calls/texts, I turn it on. Because when I get a text and the phone's in my pocket, I often press something when taking it out as getting a text/call unlocks the screen.For the rest of the time - I find it irritating to have to press the power button and then slide the screen - why both? It's not like it's hard to accidentally press the power button on the Defy!In a way - that "in pocket detection" option sounds ideal but I found it kept cutting in when I didn't want it to.Maybe I can do something with that "tasker" app so that when I press the power button, it unlocks the screen.where is that screen lock option again?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with the new Android, 2.3.4 while using ActiveSync to connect to my corporete email on Exchange Server ... A corporete policy gets pushed to my phone and I need to accept it. OK, no problem ... I accept it, but the Lock screen settings ( under Settings -> Location And Security -> Change Lock Screen ) only allows the "Password" option, saying the other options,e.g. the PIN way is remotely disabled by administrator, although that is NOT the case. I've double checked with our system admins on this.Our system admins are NOT forcing the "Password" option ... they're OK with just using the PIN, and I had it like that, in the old 2.3.3 version !For this setup ... this will display the long PASSWORD for lock-screen, instead of just a PIN which is what I prefer to to use instead:
* Android 2.3.4
* gingerbread.xwki4 on Samsung Galaxy S2
* Exchange 2007 sp3

But with this update, you need the following for the unlock screen of ActiveSync for Exchange Server:6 letters, and one number in the previous version ( 2.3.4 ) you needed 6 letters, TWO numbers and one sign I want to be able to use ONLY 4 letters PIN, as it is allowed on our network, as you can see in our policy just pasted above in this thread!
my screen froze on my 1020. None of the "screen" buttons would work but the physical side buttons would. I rebooted a couple of times (depressing the power and volume down). It worked once but then froze up again. Taking out the sim and putting it back in seems to reboot the phone, which works, sometimes, but freezes up again as soon as the screen lock is activated.
View 11 Replies View RelatedAhhh, I was about to go to sleep last night and turned my phone off. This morning I turn it on to a different (and icky) lock screen.
I now have a padlock in a circle at the bottom of my screen, which I must swipe to an open padlock to get to the part where I draw my pattern to unlock.
I much preferred my olf lock screen where my little padlock as nestled in between the four icons I choose and I swiped up to unlock.
I LOVE the ease of taking screenshots in the V10, but it's practically useless to me since I always end up cropping, and ghe only crop tool on the screen shot edit screen is a free-hand tool.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've recently made the switch back to android from an iPhone after quite a few years and I'm trying to re-familiarize myself with android's operating system and work out what I need to change and using this phone I noticed the notifications lacking, so I set up DashClock and DashNotifier and so far I love it. It does exactly what I want it to do for all the apps I have set up with it except for the notifications coming through the 'Messages' app on the phone for text messages.
When receiving a text message my lock screen ignores that I've set up DashClock as my default lock screen and pulls up the original lock screen with the quite ugly 'New Message' notification (as seen in the attached picture). If I scroll to the right DashClock is open and showing the message notification just fine. I've tried to disable the lock screen notifications for the 'Messages' app but haven't been successful in removing it. Is there a way to just have the 'Messages' app give lock screen notifications on the top bar and none like in the image below, or is there a work around within DashClock/DashNotifier or some other application that would fix this? My phone is running Android 4.4.2.
How to permanently remove lock screen? I have it in settings>security>screen security>screen lock: none but I still have to swipe to unlock.
Second are the horrible emoticons that came with the latest update. Not only they are ugly and useless but even when I use them, recipients don't get them, regardless of the phones. I use default keyboard, like it, don't want to install a new one.
I´ve just updated my phone with android 5.02. ( big mistake) and i locked my screen and now i can´t switch it on no lock screen. It appears in grey and a message ¨ disabled by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage. How can put i back,cause i´ve tried everything that i could think of and no luck .

1) no notifications are displayed on my lock screen even for missed calls or sms's .. there is no any icon or symbol that informs me if i have missed any call or received a message ; and i have to unlock my phone every time to check
in the Settings -> Sounds and Notifications -> i selected the option to show all the notifications.. but nothing changed
2) also on the lock screen , not widget for the walkman or the sound cloud to enable me to pause the players or to navigate to the next song
Did my software update the other day and apart from noticing the battery tends to run out quicker than previously, I have a new issue.
Put my phone onto charge last night with phone turned off. Don't normally do that but kept getting FB notifications. Turned phone on this morning and noticed several widgets missing from my home screen. There are gaps where widgets were but now they are missing. They are still on the phone as they're visible on the other screen where all my apps are.
According to Nokia's user guide for the C6-01, I should be able to press and hold on the home screen for the Add shortcut option to appear. It doesn't. Instead I am given the option to only add widgets. Can some please tell me how I can add apps to the home screen, or at least transfer them from another screen

Yesterday the screen lock disabled by itself and no password was needed to get on phone. In addition, the Unlock effect "Water droplet" turned on.
Is there any way to turn off the shortcuts for the camera and the phone because that is an easy way to gain access to the phone and bypass the fingerprint unlock feature!
