Long story short, the person at the Verizon store had to backup and factory reset my phone. I lost all my Quick Memos. She did not inform me that they wouldn't be backed up. Is there a way to recover them?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy wife and I just spent 2 weeks on vacation where she was happily snapping away millions of pics. She bought a new case for her Verizon S5, and in the process of swapping cases, somehow managed to factory reset her phone. So all of our vacation photos are gone. Her cloud storage is full, so nothing from the last 6 months was recoverable from the cloud.
My questions is, is there a way to recover photos from a factory reset? I'll root it, or anything else I need to do.
I tried downloading a program from the internet, which didn't work...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI picked up my phone to make a call and noticed it looked VERY different, different splash screen, apps lined up differently, etc.
When I went to look for an app, I noticed they were all gone. Somehow, my phone reset itself and I lost everything -- all installed apps, phone lists, everything.
Is there anyway to go back to a state that existed before this? FWIW, I live in Guangzhoung...and the only thing I did that was even remotely different was I reloaded the phone (china unicomm).
I haved reset network setting, all of contacts erased, can I recover the lost contacts?

I reset my htc hero back to factory settings (holding home, end call, and back buttons together) because the unlock code for the phone was entered too many times until it asked for my email and password. I entered the correct email and password and the phone still said it was wrong, so I was forced to reset the phone. Now I am wondering if its possible to recover my contacts somehow? I did not sync them with gmail before. If anyone could help that would be great. Thanks!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI laid phone down today on a table. when I came back it would not recognize my fingerprint and I could not remember my code for when that happens. I usually write them down but forgot this time. so I did a hard reset of the phone and now I cant go any further in setting up phone. I put in my email address I used and it tells me to use an email account from which the phone had been synced before.i always use the same email but it still tells me that message had to change passwords etc to get into account but it still wont let me set up my phone..

View 1 Replies View RelatedWas on my way to work today, listeting to music with the phone (fully charged) in my pocket. The music stops playing and when I look at the phone, it's just rebooting. When the phone starts again, I see the factory reset home screen. It is all wiped, no contacts, photos etc etc.Could this be some sort of bug in the phone? Or could someone have wiped it remotely without my permission?

I'm an early adopter of Android (coming from iOS) and this is my first android phone. I've been reading and some posts suggest that I should do a factory reset after the update.
I wanna hear your thoughts about this, is it necessary? Knowing that android doesn't have a good backup system unlike iOS, it's time consuming to move everything back where it was. Do the benefits outweigh the cons? My G3 has never been rooted btw got no intentions to do so.
I have an unlocked One M8,EMEA variant running stock sense 6.Yesterday,i got the lollipop OTA and did install it today. Now, I heard a lot of people complaining about performance issues and overall lesser stability on lollipop compared to kitkat, on reddit and a few other sites
Factory reset recommended after the update, especially considering the change of runtime to ART and all those system level changes? Have any of you done it on any of your devices and Is it worth the hassle? Will the performance or battery life be any better?
Just looking for opinions. Waiting for our Sprint update that was (apparently) released today and want to do it right.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter I received the update, my phone slowed considerably. It may have been a result of some other things, but point is, it slowed. To the point where I was waiting for a couple of minutes for a simple text to load.I cleared out my storage to see if that would fix the problem, but that didn't work. Someone suggested a factory reset, so after a lot of contemplating, I backed everything up onto my HTC Backup Account (Linked with Google Drive) and went for it.Normally, after a factory reset, the setup screen should ask you, "How do you want to set up your phone?" Or something along those lines, and one of those options should be to restore from a backup. The name of this screen should be "Set up your phone" at the top. After my reset, I was just taken to "Setup Wizard", which gave me no option to restore from a backup, but only let me put in a Google account and gave me the option of restoring my contacts.
ALL of my important data is on that backup, and I have nothing on my phone right now.I've tried connecting with my Google and HTC Accounts, but there is still no option to restore from those backups.I've tried, through the HTC Backup App, to restore, but the option to restore from backup is greyed out because "you have already completed backup or restore on this phone".I'm extremely frustrated and frantic to get my data back. Without that backup/restore I have to reinstall every single app by hand, reorganize everything I had, and even somehow get a couple of contacts back, since the Setup Wizard's contact restoring didn't seem to be up to date. Even in doing so I would still be missing a huge chunk of my phone. Is there anything I can do? Why is my phone showing me the Setup Wizard instead of the "Set up your phone" screen?I have the 32 GB HTC One with Verizon, and the phone was purchased September 2013.
I am currently rooted, but I have a habit of reformatting my phone every 1-2 months to keep things fresh. Factory reset under settings while rooted? It's just so much faster and simpler that way if we can.
