I have just got my phone a couple of days ago and I am trying to find my way around. The instructions are useless and I cannot transfer these files. I am a silver surfer pretty good on pc but do not know anything about android phones.

The phone charges but I can not see it as an external drive. I have the latest version of sync on my computer but I can not access the files on my phone at all. View 2 Replies View RelatedThe problem is that when I try and transfer music to my 32gb microSD card on my HTC Desire S, the music appears to delete itself. I connect it, drag and drop in the normal way and it copies normally. I then disconnect the phone and when I try to play the music it isnt on the menu on my phone. I reconnect the phone and the music is not there when I browse to my computer. Have tried 2 separate memory cards, and in 2 different HTC phones and still get the same problem.

I have an SD card installed that appears to be working properly.In windows explorer if I want to copy music to either the main music folder on the phone or the music folder on the SD card I get the following error:The phone is unlocked with a PIN so it should be able to write to the phone but it doesn't. I am using the USB C cable that came with the phone.
I can create a folder in the music folder, but I cannot copy a file into the newly created folder.If I try to copy a file into the Saved Pictures folder it works, but if I try copying into the camera roll folder I get the same error.I have had a Lumia 920 and Lumia 1020 before this an I have never had this issue.
My Nexus 5 has never been able to transfer files over USB to Win7 computers. The computers do not recognize the presence of the Nexus (no response and nothing in Device Manager). The Nexus shows it's charging, but that's it. I've tried different cables and computers. In addition, NFC and Beam also do not work but regular WiFi works fine for internet use. Bluetooth works but is too slow to be usable for data transfer.

I set the transfer default on my N8 to Mass Memory for USB transfer and connect to the pc. On my pc the phone shows up as Removable Disk (G). Clicking on it it shows all the folders but there is absolutely nothing in any of them although they exist in the mass memory folders on the phone.
